I usually only come to Ulta to get my foundation but my girls love coming here. I don't LOVE that my pre-teens are into expensive "skin care" at such a young age but I as a parent also can yay or nay items I feel are appropriate since we are paying for them. This visit, I purchased them a Bubble skincare item. While I didn't see a sale sign on the display, the girls informed me they saw a sign at the front saying Bubble was 30% off. Us parents appreciate any savings on products such as these because they are expensive enough! Normal prices here do feel a bit high but they have rotating sales and just looking for those save some money. As for the staff, we didn't have any help on the floor but the girl at the counter who checked us out was friendly. Do not get your haircut at this place. Got my hair butchered can't even say it was a haircut. My hair is so uneven just makes me want to cry. The woman cut more than 6 in inches. It's comparable to most Ultas in terms of selection and product and pricing and service, but out here in the middle of nowhere Texas if you want good makeup, this is your top notch destination, and it's definitely our favourite place to get makeup in town, as I said before. Barbie says - Ulta is the ultimate! They have lots of different makeup, from high end like Stila to low end like Wet n' Wild. They have great makeup sets, which make cool gifts or just awesome additions to my growing makeup collection. The employees here are some nice and helpful with finding stuff. Probably the worst Ulta I have ever been to. Majority of the employees are rude and extremely unwelcoming. My first time there I asked an employee for help with an issue I was having and asked what product would help keep in mind she was rude from the start and acted like I was a bother. She then talked into her microphone as loud as she could asking what product would help with said issue emphasizing the part where I asked for it to not be super expensive. She was loud enough it made the people around us turn and look. The next time I went in there I walked up to an employee to ask for help she looked at me said hi cutting me off as I started to ask for help and walked away. The last time I was in there I had a bad experience with a male employee he was extremely condescending and him and another employee were laughing at me during our interaction while he checked me out he had a bad attitude. My point here is if you're having a bad day don't go to this Ulta. They are not welcoming and have a superiority complex it gives high school mean girl vibes. I would understand if I asked a ton of questions or was rude and an inconvenience but I have never been anything but respectful, friendly and I keep to myself unless I have a question and for some reason they hate that. Definitely the type of people who are only worried about outward beauty and haven't looked within themselves. There is one girl who is extremely nice and helpful and she is like a breath of fresh air considering everyone else. I think she works in the Clinique section so if you go in look for her she has dark brown hair, another girl who is nice is a blonde lady who is the manager I'm pretty sure. I've gone to this Ulta 3 times already and every time I've gone all the employees are quite rude. Every time I've gone in, not one worker has asked me if I needed help finding anything. I understand people having bad days, which is why I just brushed it off, but after 3 times of going I feel like it's an issue to be brought up, and the Ulta in my hometown is always super welcoming and extremely helpful/nice. I went in today to find a skin tint but needed help picking a shade, so I asked a lady who was stocking up products if anyone would be available to help me. Not once did she look me in the eye and she was very short with me, then just told me I could test the shades out myself. I have no problem doing that, but I feel embarrassed trying to find a shade that I have no idea how to match in the first place. I go on to test 5 different shades on my own, going back and fourth from the products to the mirrors, and still then no one asked if I needed help. However, as I'm doing that, I see the same person I asked for help with helping out a customer, who is older. I felt belittled seeing as she didn't give me the time of day, but was extremely helpful to another lady. After that I walk to checkout and I see 3 workers behind the counter just talking to each other. I understand they could be on break or something, but just the fact that so many workers were just having conversations with each other and still no one asked if I needed help made me feel like I wasn't an important customer, which I believe that everyone should feel valued as a customer. The girl at the checkout was actually helpful with my transaction, but still had yet to see anyone who was genuinely nice. I will say, I believe it was the manager who I asked a question to once, and she was very nice, but I wish all of her employees would be that welcoming. I understand a job is hard at times, everyone has rough days, and no one is expected to be overly nice by any means. I always try to be nice and considerate because you never know what people are going through or dealing with on their own, but it's just the fact that this hasn't happened just once, it's been every single time. I've been many to many stores before and never have I felt how I've felt at this one. I went in feeling anxious about my hair color/cut because it never really turns out quite how I would like. The previous salons would say they could give me what I wanted,, but I always ended up with the same disappointing results. I sat down in the chair, resisting the urge to run for the door, and prepared myself for yet another let down. I chatted with my stylist, Lacy B., and told her what I was looking for. Her friendly, outgoing personality made it easy to talk to her about my preferences. She pulled out lots of color swatches to choose from when the first offerings weren't quite right. She was very knowledgeable and actually LISTENED to what I wanted. She did a very professional job and the color is absolutely gorgeous! She finished up with an excellent haircut and style. I am so pleased with her over the top customer service and skills, that I am now her customer for life! read more

I downloaded Yelp just to write the review. I went to this Ulta today and had a HORRIBLE experience with a certain employee. When i called to get her name, it was not given to me, so here's a description. She is a middle aged women who has one side of her head shaved. I was looking at liquid lipsticks with my friend when she was standing beside us. We opened the first one to swatch it since it was in the front and already opened i assumed it was a tester. She then reached over us and said "give me that lipstick, it is now damaged". i told her i was very sorry and didn't mean to do that and explained myself. She then proceeded to walk less than 6 feet from me, over to a group of 5 of her coworkers and started to gossip. i could hear and see enough to know she was talking about me and my friend and what just happened by the way she was demonstrating our encounter. They were all leaned in like the she was telling a juicy camp fire story. I watched her every move as she was talking crap about me over an honest mistake that i had apologized for. she was throwing her hands up in anger as i am watching gossip happen. When i went to check out (yes i still spent money at their store) i notified my cashier of my experience and she looked embarrassed and knew exactly what i was talking about. i called and spoke with the woman who gossiping about me and she didn't even apologize or give her name like i asked. I am a platinum member of the ulta beauty community and have never been treated this horribly. btw i'm not a karen just a 20 year old that has been working in customer and could NEVER talk shit about a customer less than 6 feet always none the less still in the store. It's the fact that she is a whole 2 decades older than me and still gossiping. #growup. This review is complicated, because I would probably give only 2 stars to the store - but my recent experience at the salon brings it to a 5. I can count on one hand the number of excellent haircutters I've encountered in my life. Clay at the Ulta in Bryan is one of them. He did one of the best haircuts I've ever received, and he's done it TWICE. I get a bit annoyed when Ulta is often out of the things I want, or when the testers are missing; it seems like whoever orders stock or tends the shelves doesn't always pay attention. BUT I will keep coming back as long as Clay is working there. He charges more than average for a haircut but, believe me, it's worth every penny. read more

I went to Ulta to get my hair lightened a few more shades (it had previously been lightened 2 months ago). Not only did the woman leave the bleach and foil on my hair did more than an hour it came out half white (literally) white yellow roots. I had to put a light purple paste color (no toner or developer) on it the next day to offset the yellow. It was Absolutely a nightmare. To make matters worse I have naturally curly hair and won't curl anymore, it's falling out and I'm going to have to cut my hair. It's all been a nightmare. I will never return here. Ever. read more

This review is for the Salon. The store itself has a good selection of both high end and drugstore products. I came to the Ulta Salon for the first time for a haircut. First of all, I didn't like how the salon was set up sort of protruding into the store instead of in the back. It make the whole experience awkward. The stylist I had seemed to have kind of apathetic attitude and didn't give much of a consultation and spent most of her time talking to other stylists. The haircut itself wasn't that great--they can do a better job a most Great Clips for less $$, and she missed a spot where my hair was uneven and I had to cut it myself. Not cool. read more

I love the Ulta stores, this one in particular has a fairly helpful and friendly staff; when I went, we took a bit too long and went a little over closing time but they didn't rush us out. It doesn't get the full five stars because the drugstore area is not very organized, some products are kind of just thrown everywhere (I understand that the employees can't fix every messed up thing the customers do, but every time I go, it's usually the same section or products that are messed up), the high-end side is super neat and organized though. Also, certain products I want always seem to not be stocked on the shelves so I have to ask if they have any in storage or something. And although the staff is pretty friendly, they often forget to include the free gift you qualify for unless you ask. Other than that, the store is great. read more

My hair was dark purple then light then dark again all in one strand. I had the WORST service and haircut imaginable at this place! I absolutely do not recommend going to this place and getting a haircut. Not only was the person that was cutting my hair ANGRY from the get go, but she was brushing my hair so hard that she was hitting my back in the process. Also, when she was drying my hair she threw her wet towel on the counter that hit my leather wallet in the process. Not only did she not apologize for doing this, but she had an attitude the entire time that she was giving me the haircut. I tried to talk to her to maybe ease some of the anger that she may have had before she was cutting my hair, but it didn't ease up which conveyed to me that she just had a poor attitude. I have had bad haircuts before, but I had great customer service that made up for it. In this case, I not only had terrible customer service here, but I also received a terrible haircut in the process. I'm sure that not all of the ladies there that cut hair are this terrible in customer service, but do not ask for Melissa because you will NOT be pleased with either the customer service nor the haircut. read more
