Took my kids here for the annual trip to fill up mom's stocking! When we got someone to help us, they were very helpful. But there were more than a couple times where it was hard to get an employee's attention, or they were trying swap shifts, etc. I get it. Not a huge deal but something to think about. I'm a dad looking lost walking around with three kids. I could've used help for the whole time and I definitely spent enough in the end. Several times they said that this location didn't carry what I wanted, but another location did. And lots of the things on the list were sold out even if they were carried in the store. What I really like is that they were able to help place orders for the things that we couldn't find in store to get them shipped to our house. Interestingly, the last thing on the list that they couldn't order even online... I could order from target. Weird. The service was friendly and the products were good. It's just tricky with inventory because this happens to be the location closest to us. Thank you for the folks that made this trip fun in the end and were excellent with my kids! read more

Went in for fragrances. I walk in and get a greeting. Walk to the fragrance and there are hardly any samples to smell. Most of the perfumes are behind locked cases. I hate asking team members to open cases just so I can smell them or even to get items. There was staff walking around but no one offered to help me. I hate this system that I was too bothered and decided to leave. I was there to but two perfumes but decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

I just left here and I come quite a bit and spend my hard earned cash. I totally understand that you have to make sure your customer is good, however I was asked if I needed help about 4 times. I'm sorry but it's too much . It becomes very suspect like they think you are stealing. The security was doing the same thing. Lurking. I like to feel comfortable where I shop. This location should be shut down. Everyone standing around the register, not a single greeting, once I asked for help, instead of walking towards me, the young lady apparently thought that I was about to have a screaming match over the music to tell her what I needed. She then just pulls out her phone to look up what I wanted (which she never heard of) to tell me that "no location had any of the product line I came in for" which is untrue. I came from another location 5 minutes up the road who had majority of the product line. One Star - Deeply Disappointed and Disturbed by My Experience I had an extremely upsetting experience at the Ulta Salon in Addison (Beltline Rd location) and feel compelled to share in hopes of preventing others from going through the same. I was referred to Jenny for a full highlight, but upon arrival she pushed a "color correction" service, assuring me it would be more cost-effective at $45/hour. Trusting her advice, I agreed -- and sat in that chair for five hours, which was just the beginning of a nightmare. I explicitly asked for no more than a 1/2 inch trim, yet she cut off about four inches without my consent. She upsold me a $69 "conditioning treatment" -- without disclosing it was a keratin treatment or that I wouldn't be able to wash my hair for 3 days. During the wash, my entire shirt and pants were soaked, leaving me completely uncomfortable. The treatment caused severe eye irritation, and all I was given was a wet washcloth. No warning, no real help. Jenny's technique was harsh and painful. I told her multiple times it was hurting, but she continued aggressively brushing and pulling at my hair. To make matters worse, Jenny and several other stylists spoke in Spanish throughout the appointment, which made me feel excluded and uneasy during an already stressful situation. I walked out with: Damaged, uneven hair and missing inches I never approved A $229 bill I wasn't prepared for Painful eye irritation that required medical attention, and loss of hair due to an infected scalp from the products used And most importantly, a look that has me mortified to speak at a major business presentation I have in Philadelphia that week This experience didn't just ruin my hair -- it affected my health, confidence, and professional presence. I'm shocked that Ulta would allow someone so careless and unprofessional to represent their brand. I've reached out to Ulta, they offered a refund, HOWEVER, when I went in there today Jenny was still working there. They condone this type of behavior/service! exus was our beauty expert and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. My daughter and I were looking for a specific perfume and she directed us right to it. Lexus even let us take a test to find the perfect perfume match based on notes. She definitely went above and beyond the entire visit in the store by offering recommendations and some of her top favorites for my hair. I made an appointment online for eyebrow trimming with Mariah. She walked in at the same time as me, with her lunch, which was exactly my appointment time, 12:00. I checked in at the desk. She disappeared to the back for a few minutes and then came out and was texting and getting instruments out of her bag one by one slowly while I waited. She never acknowledged me. And I walked out at 12:10. She should have been ready to go at 12:00 or at least put a tiny effort in. I do not recommend and I will not be back. Very disappointed. read more

I came in to buy perfume, the lady sold me on the smaller size saying it was an upgraded perfume. I believed her (my fault) and I paid $161 for a 1.6 oz perfume when I would have paid $181 for the 3 oz OF THE SAME PERFUME! I've gone into multiple other stores at this point and no one knows about what I'm talking about and Google doesn't pull up any upgraded of this perfume. I've gone to Ulta down in Cedar Hill and closer to Plano, I recommend going elsewhere if need assistance from an employee. I went to this location looking for some concealer. The reason why I'm giving more than one star is because of one guy that helped me with my decision. I hate that I didn't get his name. He was super helpful and kind. So now I'm ready to purchase and the cashier, Jarelyn, was rude. I walked up to her and said hello. Instead of acknowledging my greeting, she ignored me and called up a coworker just because she wanted his presence there. Her words not mine. They were having a whole conversation about her shift being over in 4 minutes. Maybe that's why she was being so ill-mannered, but that shouldn't be an excuse. She didn't ask how I wanted my receipt and turned away from me to continue her conversation with a coworker. Very poor customer service. She didn't even provide the bare minimum. I made an appointment to get a biolage silver with my natural color. I explain what I wanted and provided pictures. I was told that she has done that multiple times no problem. 3 hours later as she is blow drying my hair I didn't see no silver what I see is orange/blonde highlights. This is not my 1st time coloring hair however it's been 5 yrs since no color in my hair. Needless to say WHAT can I say. Came in for a specific product. I find what I was looking for and head to the line. The cashier was helping someone and when they finish with them they immediately walk away, no biggie. Another person comes and rings me up. I tell her I have a $3 off and she makes this face as if I'm bothering her. Her name was Kathie. I'm used to people like her treating others the way that she did. As a Hispanic woman, I've dealt with people like her ALL my life. Such a shame how ugly people can be. After my trip in yesterday, I decided this will be the last time I shop at this Ulta. To say what was previously said about this being the worst Ulta in the area, is not wrong. Not a single person offered to help me during my trip in- though there were employees EVERYWHERE- and when I asked a question to one girl about where to find a certain dry shampoo, I came around the corner to hear her talking about me with another associate. "Was it this one?" And then they scattered. Wish I had caught their names, but one was a short pink haired girl, and the other, I believe a manager, with black and blue hair. The gift areas/stocking stuffers were stocked, but other areas were in disarray. There are also gifts at the front counter, which I decided to look at before checking out, but make sure you're ready to check out when you get there or they will continue to yell "next guest please" even when you state you are still looking. Up one star for one helpful employee. One for one. I went in last week looking for new color-friendly shampoo and conditioner, but when I got to my regular section for Matrix, they were all out! I guess with all of those Hawt On Yelp deals, everyone got their hair colored like me. Durn it! At a loss of where to turn, I moved to the next line over, Redken. I picked up a bottle with a half confused/half frown look on my face when a lady walked by and asked if I needed help. My normal answer is no, but today I needed some damn help. I asked about Redken, and she was super helpful and steered me towards some products I had no idea existed that Redken makes. I picked up a bottle and was on my way to the checkout when the Matrix stand stood out like a glowing oasis! I threw Redken down like my red-headed stepchild and grabbed my favorite shampoo and conditioner -- in color-safe, of course. I used to love this specific Ulta store because the previous managers never gave me the cold shoulder or the crappy attitude I would often get at other Ulta stores. In fact, the last manager who helped me was SO sweet, I treated her to Starbucks just because her service far surpassed her predecessors. I was disheartened during my visit today to find out that she was no longer working there. I buy A LOT of makeup and for SEVERAL years, I have never had any issues with Ulta until THIS year and it baffles me given the number of new brands they have brought onto their sites and into their stores. Whoever is in charge of that, THANK YOU! But whatever VP is in charge of training their staff really needs to get fired. I walked in today with a couple boxes full of Ulta returns. Yes, it sucks for your business but it also sucks that my car was totaled in an accident 3 weeks ago and I can no longer afford the goods. First of all, upon walking into the store, I was already given a nasty glare. I could tell the girls in front weren't happy that I had my hands full of 2 boxes. When I mentioned the financial reason why I had to do the returns, they didn't show any compassion or empathy for the situation. Not even a "I'm so sorry, are you ok?" When I got to the register, the initial girl helping me was nice. She was unable to look up an order but was trying to look through my account and then her manager stepped in to assist and that's where it went downhill. Her attitude was sour, she questioned why I made multiple orders on one day (what? you never bought something at the store and then later realized you forgot an item and had to go back? but really, what business is it of yours however many orders I make?), and then proceeded to ask if I had the samples that were included in the order. No, I don't...I have never been asked for them so why would I make an effort to bring them and was there a new policy that I have to return them? Needless to say, her customer service was far beyond lacking, she scoffed at me while she completed the returns, she was unpleasant and didn't even care to note that I was a Diamond member. I've given Ulta plenty of chances and the previous employee at this store was really their saving grace but at this point, I don't plan to be giving Ulta any more of my money. read more

My experience is with the salon, specifically with Irina. I haven't had my hair colored in nearly 3 years but I had been going to Irina for cuts. So when I went to get my hair colored I was nervous. To be honest, the way it came out, I wasn't happy with it. It didn't look how I envisioned and I was disappointed. But this review is for Irina for what she did next which was very sweetly asjust the color to what made me happy. I wasn't mad at her nor was a angry about my hair. I was just disappointed at the result. But Irina was understanding and adjusted the color to perfection. I can't express how great it is and how happy I am with it now. By far the worse Ulta in the area. The shelves are always in disarray, low stock for weeks on end and the staff is unbearable. I dread going to this location and recently stopped by with my friend to pick up a few items because we were close by. The lady at the register did not greet us and proceeded to call another associate up to the cash wrap area just to have someone to talk her. Her exact words were "I didn't need anything, just wanted to talk to you. I get off in 2 minutes." She continued to have a conversation with her buddy during the transaction without making eye contact or even acknowledging us and literally threw the bag down on the counter. Went to this Ulta on my lunch break (12:30pm on a Friday). The customer service reps were standing in skincare chit chatting with each other instead of helping customers. When a lady asked where a product was one of them walked her to the area, pointed, and walked away. Didn't ask if she had any questions or needed help. There were boxes all over the aisles making it hard to get to the product. I went in there for 3 specific items and none of them were in stock. Then I picked up some mascara I've heard good things about. When I got to the cash register, they came up as a different price than what was labeled. When I mentioned that to the cashier, she simple said, "Nope," and told me the total. Didn't bother looking. So I left and will never be back to this Ulta. read more

Woke up this morning and decided it was time to finally get a haircut. Went on the ulta app and booked an appointment and thankfully there was times available same day, and I just picked the first stylist available. Rozina shampooed & deep conditioned my hair and gave me such a nice haircut! I always get a straight cut and decided to have some long layers added. Rozina did such a great job, added some face framing pieces, and took off some weight from the bottom of my hair since I have my hair curled everyday. Speaking for the salon aspect of the store, I have always had wonderful service! After booking an appointment without a preference for a certain stylist I ended up having my cut with Kirsten. She was great that first time and I've been going to her since, for almost a year now! I came in with a long list of to-do's for my hair as I was coming off of a 6 month dyeing spree and Kirsten has done great by me through it all! Cuts, colors, and adding back in natural highlights is the short list of what she did for me and it's all been perfect! I'm extremely precious with my hair and tend not to trust it to many, but I haven't been let down. I've also found the stylists as well as the employees at this location to be very knowledgable about the store's products. I don't know much about higher end make up and hair care (higher end meaning anything more expensive than what's sold at a CVS, I know I have low standards), so I ask a lot of questions and I've always gotten great info. I've also been impressed with the employees honesty about the products, they never seem to just be trying to sell the most expensive thing on the shelf. They'll keep me as a customer as long as Kirsten's there! read more

Four Stars ONLY for Nighat, the eyebrow-threading goddess. The rest of the beauty school drop-out staff gets 2 stars for the attitude. So threading. A multi-talented chick takes simple cotton string and transforms it into a highly-accurate eyebrow shaper. TRULY. AMAZING. I get my brows professionally done about...eh, twice a year. So you could imagine Nighat's horror when I arrived for my appointment with 2 caterpillars above my eyelids. After nearly fainting, she sits me down and proceeds to take a mere 10 minutes to fix my fated ugly-brow problem. She did an AMAZING job. And for the first time, I walk away with mismatched brows. Why? "The person did this last...they mess up. I let this one grow, no? It take...doo, tree weeks. You come back cause you have such nice shape!" It was true. My last visit (ok, fine, I probably am the over-plucking culprit) left me with one eyebrow tweezed to the max. She could have simply ruined the other one so that I would match, but her commitment to my personal best brow left me misty-eyed. Fuzz swears you can barely tell they're off. Anywho, leaving her room was the end of my positive experience. The perfectly-primped, 2-inches-of-makeup-per-square-inch-of-faced staff made sure I noticed their condescending looks as I tried to pay and get change for Nighat's tip. "Like, ugh mah gawd, Bethany. Is she REALLY wearing last season's jeans and a T SHIRT to Ulta. Ugh. How are we even serving her?" Really? Get a grip, Tina Marie.
