As I was checking out today with Samantha, I asked her if anyone would be working at the Brow Bar today as the area was unoccupied upon me entering the store. Her reply as she shrugged her shoulder, I don't know. Next question, can I make an appointment with you to have my brows tinted and waxed, No, you do that online. I then asked, can you please tell me the names of the lady's that work at the brow bar, her response, I don't know, they're alot of people that work over there. Perhaps I was really getting on her nerves, but her attitude wasn't pleasant at all. I thanked her for the information she gave me, paid for my purchases and proceeded to the door. I was leaving quite dissatisfied, so I proceeded to ask someone else could I possibly book an appointment in the store, oh yes, you can ask anyone at the Salon desk to help you. Thank you, was it that hard to be so kind, I guess it wasn't for Samantha. I proceeded to Salon desk and was greeted kindly and my appointment was made. That quick and easy. I did have one complaint, though the salesperson that made the appointment for me was kind and she was able to provide me the name of the salesperson that did my last brow appointment. I asked for several appointment dates and each time her response, Not available, finally I asked, so when is she available and she laughed and said, oh she's her Sunday. Horrible Service, I scheduled an appointment at the Salon with Olga L. , I wanted a change on my hair, mind you im very aware that since Ive used boxed color on my hair it might not lift as much, so when I get there she makes me wait, I waited for like 10min (Totally ok with it) When she sits me down, I show my inspo Picture, then proceeds to tell me that's not what I scheduled, I let her know that I honestly didn't know what exactly to schedule, but if it's more money Im ok with it, She brakes down the price and I agree with it, While she's in the back with the other ladies trying to mix the colors, they are laughing and making jokes (mind you I understand Spanish) I totally could understand what they were saying, Than one of the other ladies ask if she's doing 30 on my hair, she then said no do 40 im not going to stay here all day (They started laughing) Of course not caring if they fry my hair, not even doing a bleach test or anything, straight laughing, I let them know that if im or my hair is giving them a hard time, Im ok with them telling me instead of making jokes, Olga comes and says where are you gonna go, in every other place they will tell you the same thing, (I believe a professional person, would of recommended me something else or would of just refused the service, instead of laughing in my face and then calling it a Joke) Im paying for a service, a Service that its supposed to make me feel good and look good, not you bringing me down or judging my hair, I would've totally been fine with her offering something else or even a treatment, Very disappointing and definitely never never scheduling with them. read more

Lierally the worst salon I have ever been to. I typically do not shop anymore at this location because they fired my friend Deena for no reason whatsoever. Thankfully, she is over at JCPenney's. Unfortunately I still have to go into Ulta to see my girl Angela, as she is the best with brows in the entire metroplex. The store is consistently out of inventory, filthy dirty, and the sales associates are rude as hell. I've been a loyal Ulta salon client for over 3 years, and this was one of the most humiliating experiences I've ever had. I recently moved to Texas and had my first root touch-up with stylist Elizabeth P. at this location. After the appointment, I noticed many grays still visible along my part--something that's never been an issue in the past. I kindly returned, made sure to say Elizabeth did a great job overall, and just asked if there was a way to fix the missed spots. While I was waiting to get the correction done, Elizabeth loudly complained to the client in front of her that she "doesn't get paid for this" and that I was "probably making a big deal over a few grays"--all while I was sitting right there. I had been respectful, complimentary, and even tipped her $20. No client should be spoken about like that, especially not in public. We deserve kindness, professionalism, and dignity. If I could give zero stars I would. Went in for a tone on completely bleached hair, and walked out with dark brown roots and spots all over my head. There are lines all over my head in between the "toned root" and mid parts of my level 9-10 blonde hair - all over. There are spots of dark brown all over my head and it has to be by far the worst experience I've ever had with hair. I felt horrible leaving looking the way I did, and they didn't have products in store that would fix what she did so I was directed to a different beauty store. I'm beyond upset. After she saw my hair, the stylist was trying to explain it and blame it on me. I had one single spot by my ear that was not bleached (on purpose because it was growing out) and claimed it was my bleaching job - I literally took a tooth brush and made sure it was completely even. It is not my first bleaching rodeo. I went in with beautiful fully blonde hair (that definitely needed to be toned) and walked out looking ridiculous. I now have to pay to get it professionally fixed, and I don't have money for that - hence doing it myself. So disappointing. Not to mention after she tried basically telling me it was my fault - she handed me a ticket for $60 to pay for it. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I went in to replenish my IT powder - SKU:2543902 CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder Foundation, but they were out and one of the associates mentioned she had none them in stock for a while and they could be discontinuing that product, which would be a bummer. However, she recommended Tarte brand in shade 275 light-medium sand, which actually is close to my color with the IT product. I have been using it a week now, and I am pleasantly surprised its working out for me. No breakouts either, at least yet. I am appreciative of the sales associate's recommendation. read more

The lines at this ulta is always wrapped to the back with very little cashiers. Last time I went there was one cashier who didn't seem to know what she was doing and a manager checking people out. The manager "Sally" thought it was more important to talk about the weather with her coworkers instead of check people out in the very long line. Women come here to feel beautiful and I personally love looking at makeup and being in ulta and this just wasn't a good experience They literally had maybe a 2-3 employees checking out and all these workers are on the floor talking to each other not even helping customers. You literally have to go up to them and ask them for help ... at this point what are they standing around for ... ?!? No offense they could've been checking people out cause there was a line to the back of the store waiting to check out. With the holidays being so busy this definitely won't help with getting the most out of business cause I just put my stuff back and left and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. I meant to make this review earlier this week. I had such a great experience in this store, it's honestly the best location I've been to. I only came to do an exchange & from entering the store to leaving was an impressionable experience. I was greeted when I came in & two young ladies (register Rebecca(?) & one was stocking makeup I think) were very friendly and helpful! The one who was stocking made a product recommendation for the brand I was exchanging. I haven't tried the recommendation yet but definitely will, she gave me great information to use. The manager who had to approve the exchange was so nice and personable. I let her know that this had been my best & favorite visit to an Ulta store ever & I've been to plenty. Unless you're planning to just pickup something you already want to buy, don't expect any help from the staff on the floor; too busy socializing with each other and staying as far away from customers as possible. I came in wanting to get color match for It Cosmetics CC foundation. When I came in the 2 ladies by the door didn't even bother to look or greet me. There were 6 random staff on the floor; one trying on perfume and the rest just roaming. They just walk right past me and didn't even ask if I needed help finding anything. I'm pretty sure there are some good employees at this location, but not when I have visited, unfortunately. For such a busy area and for a store that most people walk into and spend at a minimum of $50 or more; where in the world is the customer service experience?? Well, it's definitely not at this location. I came in looking for a specific tarte eyeliner that I'd never used and had some questions about it. I actually happened upon the manager, that seemed pretty bothered already, because when approached (she was kneeling down) but couldn't be bothered to look up when addressing me. Honestly, to lighten the tension , I made a joke and laughed. No response, no change. I know, that no one is obligated to laugh but why am I trying so hard as a customer to make the worker feel okay to help me??? That's when I knew that this was going to be a 'super enjoyable visit'. I asked about the eyeliner she automatically jump to a conclusion that it was a pencil liner when I had named the liner to make it easier - apparently I didn't do a good job of that - and when I asked her if it was a good liner that stayed on due to my eyes being very watery and a bunch of other stuff which she did not seem interested in hearing,plus the non smiling face. Anyway, I did have to get help in another area from a young lady that literally had been working there three days and even though she didn't know a lot she stayed with me until I found what I needed. So kudos to that young lady. Check out time!!! one of the things that I love to buy is Ulta's lip oils but because they are normally $9 each I noticed there was a sign for Ulta products buy two get two free so when I checked out I asked the young lady if the lip oils were included. The lady checking me out answers me with a QUESTION, "Did the sign say they were included?" So I took a couple breathes, and responded 'well no, that's why I'm asking because it seems that it's all the ultra products and makeup over there... ' to make my super long story somewhat shorter -- she reads one of the signs and I have to send her back and say there are two signs and then she grabs what was left and scans it (which she should have done from the beginning) and says "Oh! Yes they're included. But there's only 3. You can come back on Wednesday when we get a new truck with more product... " So I go out on a limb here and ask," You're not the only Ulta location that's having this deal right?" Her response," Well, I know our location is I'm not sure about any of the others. " And she keeps checking me out and give me my total.. "$80.87 is your total, hon" I paid and got the heck out of there. Thankfully, Jesus took the wheel and ahold of my mouth. read more

However, before I could purchase online, and since I do not live in a town where an Ulta exists, they sold out, according to customer service, in minutes. This location has some really nice associates! However, on my last visit I was super disappointed when one of the managers refused to sell me a Truly Beauty perfume spray that was missing a cap and some of the product had been sprayed. I assume some kids maybe thought they could spray stuff out of it like a tester. The product DID NOT say tester and the ladies at the front thought that it was. The manager said she couldn't sell it to me due to "sanitary issues." I wanted to purchase it at a discount but they refused. I don't understand that because the product is not an eye shadow or lipstick. It was a spray in a bottle! And to top that off, the brand had another product which was a body oil to match the spray. The manager said she couldn't sell me that either because it wasn't supposed to be on display yet. I went to another location right after and they had the product with correct pricing and they were selling it. I think the managers at this store need to be trained better so they can give their customers the best experience possible. I'm not mad at her or the other ladies but my shopping trip this last time was not pleasant. If they can't sell the product they shouldn't put it out because it will make other customers upset. No one wants to deal with that and it can be avoided if they pay more attention to their sales. I will shop here again but maybe in a few months.. read more

I hate to complain, but I received the worst coloring and salon experience of my life. I wanted to start phasing out my blonde highlights with blonde/light brown ombré. Then, everything that can go wrong DID go wrong. The ombré color was far too dark and it turned my ends (instead of my roots!) into a dark black. She made such a mess with the brown dye that I found spots of it staining the blonde in a way that made me look like I had leopard spots. To correct it, I asked that she make it all one color. Now, it's at least five different shades: copper, black, brown, and GREEN! She asked me if I was on any medication that could turn my hair green. FOR REAL!? Was it green before I came through the door? Nope. It's going to cost me another $200 to get my hair stripped and fixed and I'm having to cut off six inches that were fried from the over-processing. I had a very high pressure sales person last time I was at this Southlake location. I went in for a very small Dr Jart CICA skin repair kit - $42 at the other store- but a brand you don't carry - and walked out of the store $285.00 later. There is an easy balance between good customer service and pushing me to buy a bunch of products I've never even heard of. At one point she even saw me buying makeup from a brand that I've known and loved for years and steered me back to the Juice brand because it's gluten free?? I don't have an issue with gluten -especially when it comes to make up. Was it ultimately my choice? Of course.... but please know that because of this experience, I will go somewhere else next time.
