I had to pick up a last-minute birthday gift and I just happen to be in the shopping center. I'm not a makeup person so I wasn't sure about going into Ulta. But I wanted to pick out something really nice for my friend's birthday party today. I walked in the store. They had so many options of everything. I really wasn't sure what to get her. I walked around for a minute then I was approached by a really nice employee asking. What was I looking for, she asked what since does my friend like what kind of makeup does she wear. She asked really good questions, but I wasn't sure what to get her still so I ended up getting a gift card. When I walked in the store was nice and clean. It was when they first opened about 10 o'clock this Saturday. I love that the store didn't have a overwhelming scent of perfumes because they did have a lot of fragrances and different sense available in the store. I would definitely go back if I need to. But I'm 100% sure I'll be sticking to the gift cards unless someone tells me specifically what to pick up for them lol read more

Going in to return products and the managers and worker were quite literally so annoying. The cashier says I can't get a money refund and I already knew that so I say okay. She calls a manager over and says "She can't get a money refund because she's past the return date" And the manager says okay and that she can do the in person credit. My problem here is that why are you making it seem like I have a problem with the way i'm getting my refund? I knew that's all i'd get and I clearly told the cashier I was okay with the in person credit. Then after the manager was done doing her job I guess she was training a new hired manager and I hear them talking about me or whatever problems about returns. I can't say enough great things about this Ulta. The people are friendly and greet you warmly. The most sincere vibes here. Customer service is everything you would want it to be. I've had my hair done by Jenna who listens to your requests and asks clarifying questions to meet your expectations. On the floor, they really do make themselves visible but not in an "I'm following you" type of way that I've experienced elsewhere. To put it plainly, they are helpful and have set the standard for how to operate a beauty centered shopping experience. I do hope they get promotions and compensation for the great job they do. I had a horrible experience at Ulta! I went in to get a haircut and dye my hair. When Jenna put the dye on my hair and two minutes later my scalp started burning . I let Jenna know and she just handed me a comb. After 30 minutes later Jenna washed my hair and it was burnt. It smelled burnt. It took me months to get a refund. They advise me instead of getting the refund to get a gift card and purchase stuff from their store to fix my hair but in the end they knew they were wrong and I ended up getting my refund. read more

Took a basic trip to ulta to get a new foundation. They were having an Anastasia event today. The people were friendly and were eager to help me out. Or were they eager to sell some Anastasia products? I couldn't tell. I asked about foundation and they right away recommended Anastasia. Not sure if it was the best one for my needs. The lady helping to match my skin was nice but so very quiet. She didn't ask me many questions just "what type of skin do you have?" Dry. Is Anastasia good for dry skin? What if I said I had oily skin? Would she still recommend that brand? What about coverage? I just needed more guidance and I feel like I just got sold the product of the day. They had many blushes, only the tester in my color Hint. I asked a worker if they had any and she was happy to look. They did not, but she was happy to help me find something close to it. She went through many different ones, but there wasn't any ones like Hint. Her name was Sienna. She understood and helped me look more and found they carry it online at Target. Really? Very cool! This review is for both product and customer service. The product: was up sold on Jennifer Anistons new line, Lolavie. Fair warning, do not buy this brand! It makes your hair fall out in clumps, and it's a known issue. I do not know why Ulta is continuing to sell these products knowing they are putting their customer's health at risk. I guess making a profit is more important than brand integrity these days. The service: the cashier, Brianna, helped 2 people who walked up to the counter while I waited in line. I know you guys don't prioritize customers who do returns, but come on. I mentioned what happened with my hair, and when she saw the product I was returning, she said "Oh, yeah we can't control what products we sell." What? Does Ulta not quality control or stand behind their products? I wasn't really sure what to say to that. Then she called the manager to approve the return. I told the manager (Anna?) about my concerns, but I could tell she was irritated by having to hear a complaint. She said something about being short staffed, which I guess was to excuse the poor service. She didn't care about the product making my hair fall out, and offered no apology. I'm fact, nobody said anything, they just stood there staring at me until I left. This is what I wanted.... And this is what I got. So disappointed. The staff is fantastic and so helpful on the sales floor but I would not recommend the hair salon for anything beyond a basic haircut. The first attempt, to color my hair didn't work. The second attempt, included first bleaching and then color application. Since the results were not as expected, a third appointment was made to add 'hot pink' to cover the yellow. ‍ I also thought I was weird that the bleach was left on for 25 min, then 10 more, the 10 more. Isn't there a safe limit? I also thought it was weird that the stylist only rinsed and washed the hair that was treated instead of my entire head. I so wanted this to work but I think I'll pass on the 3rd attempt. My desire for mermaid ‍ hair is not gone, now I just want boring hair again. read more

I'm turning 30 and at this point in my life I would like my natural beauty to shine through and not rely on makeup on the daily. I had a facial done at another location and I liked it but I couldn't remember the persons name or face. So I turn to yelp and this was the only location that had 1 review (a good one) for their esthetician Patrick. I booked a simple 10 min facial to test him out. I'm choosy about my face, hair & nails!! When I got there he offered me water and before we began he let me know that their 20 min facial was only $20 just for that day. of course I upgrade. He was so nice & mellow. He told me the ingredients of all the products & how they help the skin. Everything was super gentle on my skin & organic. Nothing hurt or irritated me. He also asked ahead of time if I had any allergies. He continuously asked if I was fine with temperature of the steam or the towels. Gave me tips on how to properly apply lotions and serums to my face and neck. I pre booked my follow up appointment that day. My skin is smooth and dewy. It's glowing. My pores have shrunk. I purchased make up on sale in march 7, 2025. at the time of purchase I ordered 2 charlotte turbuly make up it retail for 50.00 each. it was half off on the website. so I got two bottles. this was like 8am in the morning. I then waiting for my order at no time did they send me an email tell me that the makeup I already paid for was out of stock. how can it be out of stock? when made the purchase it was still in stock. When I got my order I notice I'm missing a bottle. That's when it said cancelled item. what i didn't cancel anything. so I called they explain it was out of stock. I told them how is that possible. She could explain it. just told me when the makeup come available we can ship it to you at the discount price. this was after three separate calls to customer service. Guys it July and I finally see the makeup available. So I called customer service again to get my make up. Now she told me as a one time courtesy that they will honor up at the price. But I need to purchase the make up at full price wait 72 hours before they can issue me a refund for the additional price. Then she said oh well you should probably have your money back by next Friday or a little longer. I couldn't take her that she kept saying because of misunderstanding. It wasn't a misunderstanding. I was told one thing by several different operators and when it came time for my make up finally being there. They wouldn't honor what they said they still wanted me to go and jump through hoops to get this make up. They weren't helpful. She said this is the only thing I can do for you.The whole conversation was her saying because of the misunderstanding as a one time courtesy that's not a courtesy when you guys mess up. It's not a courtesy to make your clients pay for stuff that they've already paid begin with and then have to jump through hoops to just get some. I don't write very many reviews. I have to be very upset or extremely happy with the situation if somebody goes over and beyond I have no problem writing a review for them. The sad thing is I shop at Ulta quite often but their customer service is so bad lately. I think I might be switching to Sephora. This Ulta is close to my home so it's a convenient location. It's not always a pleasant experience but the good outweighs the bad here. There are some employees who go above and beyond to help you find what you are looking for and that's why I give it 4 stars. Recently I went in looking for under eye concealer as I work nights and I'm noticing dark puffy circles, I've always struggled with this but my late nights up make it worse. I asked an employee for assistance as I noticed her stocking some shelves (I don't mind asking) and she guided me to NARS concealer and helped me pick out the perfect shade, she also said she had something to help with days when I don't want to wear makeup and choose to go natural, a serum from The Ordinary that was only $6!!! So awesome and I noticed a big difference after one night! No puffiness in the morning, as for the dark circles only time will tell. So I came to the nearest Ulta to my house and to my surprise of course no one asked me did I need assistance at all and there were people who passed me up several times didn't greet me you didn't say welcome to the Ulta. They didn't ask me about the reason I came today or if they could help. Simply ignored me and kept walking there are even two associates talking to eachother but no one offered me assistance. Other than the customer service there is many selections here I see philosophy, beauty by pop sugar, Smashbox, to face, urban decay, benefit, cover FX, Stella, Clinique, Kylie, and other high-quality brands Of makeup ,styling tools, salon hair care there is a salon here as well also there are facial and skin products. After I been here 30 minutes not one associate has even blinked my way kind of makes me not want to buy such an expensive make up if my business is not valued. Very poorly executed A-line haircut. 5 inches after I requested only 2 inches be removed. Karla was a very sweet person I'd recommend for children's haircuts. She took care to maintain Covid guidelines. She gets overwhelmed very easily. Communication would really benefit her, but she chose to keep compounding her mistakes. Made a purchase and the cashier Destiny and she charged me twice for a product and put the receipt in the bag so I was not able to review it at the register. Called them to tell them about the duplicate charge and they made me go back to the store for evaluation - they could have reviewed the camera right then and credited my card. Went back to the store the next day and they acted like I was an inconvenience. Never apologized until I asked if they were going to speak to Destiny. Then Audrianna said "I'm sorry this happened but we have been having issues with banks making duplicate charges....." she charged me twice....... That's not a bank issue! Customers should be compensated for the inconvenience when the cashier makes an overcharge mistake. Then they might take it seriously! I'm the one being overcharged and inconvenienced with having to return for the correction...... why are you upset with me? Just rude. I will find another place to get my products. read more

This particular Ulta is just fine, it doesn't stand out, but I also don't want to bad mouth it. The store is spacious and relatively clean. One thing that I've noticed is that testers/displays are really lacking. I was in there today and was intrigued by a colorful palette, however, the tester that they had out was completely empty, literally no shadow left in the pan. I've noticed that a lot of their testers are either empty, missing, or really gross looking, which makes for an unpleasant experience. They also frequently have tons of products out of stock. I'm not someone who gets too pressed about customer service, yeah, the associates aren't overly warm, but that suits me fine. I do really like the rewards system here where you can get $$ toward purchase. I think this particular location could just benefit from an inventory assessment. read more

Typically you have to call a few days ahead of time to get your eyebrows waxed at the Benefit bar. But, I was feeling lucky and called this Ulta right before my lunch. The beautician said she had an opening. I grabbed a hamburger at Triangle burger and headed over. The brow specialist was very personable and didn't make me feel uncomfortable about smelling like a delicious burger. I was happy that she was able to take my appointment on short notice. They used to be so prompt at checking out employees, but now it seems like they don't care. I'm still paying for my items, you're still making money off from me. I'm still considered a customer. I went in to try to purchase some items and the managers couldn't even help check my items out, because they were all still in a meeting. I literally stood at the check stands for about 8mins and overheard the staff saying I'm not going voice her over again because she(the manager) sounds like she's mad. Took off a star because I was being generous with 3 stars. They have consistently bad customer service and if I didn't love makeup and good deals I wouldn't come back here. Went back yesterday for Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty. Not a lot of people in the store. I actually saw the most employees I've ever seen in the store at once; 4 or 5. No one greeted me when I came in despite there being a couple employees in the front when I walked in. They usually shout "Welcome!" at you from the register. Whatever, I was just running in there to get the daily beauty steal. I did walk around in a few short circles and no one approached me like usual. One employee did walk in front of me while I was looking at an end cap and I stepped backwards for them. They didn't acknowledge me or say excuse me. I quickly got in line (which wasn't long thank goodness) and it looked like 3 people were at the registers, but it was only like 2. The 3rd was at some standing monitor next to the registers. They were talking among themselves too and it felt cliquey so I waited until one of them called me over to a register. Really the only interaction I have with Ulta employees is when they're forced to talk to me so they can take my money. Which makes it kind of ironic when they ask me if I found everything ok. I'm a good shopper and know makeup so I know where to find what I'm looking for. I should tell them next time that I did, no thanks to them. I did read someone else's review about them being discriminatory against her because she wasn't wearing makeup and doesn't have a Michael Kors purse. I don't fully agree with that sentiment, but I do relate. I've forgone makeup A LOT this year. I couldn't justify the effort of putting on a whole face of makeup for short errands. A lot of times it was just way too hot. Most of the time I feel very uncomfortable without makeup, especially going makeup shopping, but I do it anyways. I was in full makeup today and got completely ignored. The last few times I wasn't wearing any makeup and I got marginally acknowledged. Eh this location is alright, no one is necessarily overly nice like some of the locations I went to. I wanted some samples of perfume because it's hard to just buy a $100! I need to see how it reacts with my skin and see how long it lasts but no they aren't doing samples due to covid. If we can be in the store shopping then we should be able to get samples that's complete BS! I ended up buying a mini philosophy perfume, hopefully I like it. I also bought the revlon salon one step hair dryer and volumizer since I keep hearing such great things about it. Where do I even begin to talk about why I am leaving a one star review of this establishment. So let's begin from the very beginning shall we, we shall. So me and my friends who are a group of 4 young adult women have gone into this ulta multiple times together to get our usual makeup products. You might say, " okay what's wrong with that", well I'll tell you why. We have gotten judged because of our appearance that we are "stealing" the products which personally I or my friends would never do considering we personally have law enforcement family members and myself are involved with learning criminology (so I think we know better). Also why would we even want to take the products if we can purchase them. We all have been coming in and buying makeup from this establishment for years now so why now are we getting treated like this. The first situation happened one day when me and my friends were simply in a aisle talking about a makeup product when we got interrupted by a ulta worker handing us a basket "to put our items in because she and the others thought we were talking the products and putting them in our bags". We were all confused because we have never gotten approached like this and it made us all feel very uncomfortable because we simply were just trying to shop. She also had no kind of proof to back up her allegations. It might have to do with our nationality because we speak our native language out in public which I don't think is a issue considering we live in a free country but we continue to get looks that make us feel uncomfortable. This is not the 1500s treat all your costumers with respect please. That was just the first experience, we were all upset after this situation and we're considering never coming back but, this is the closets makeup store to us and it forces us to come in and feel uncomfortable. After that situation every time we come in as the same group we get the same kind of treatment. But that does not top the latest incident that occurred at this ulta. We went in again to pick up a few products and try a few new things out as we should. So my friend wanted a hair product recommendation so we kindly asked a worker I believe her name was Alexis or Alexandra, she went on to recommend a few products to my friend and then asked her a very uncomfortable question, like "do you have pcos". She did say she did not want to be rude but just made a assumption just because my friend was breaking out a little on her face which she should not have done. After she was done recommending a hair product we went over to the morphe section to help my other friend find a setting powder. She currently uses the airspun power which is a product that really did not work for ME and gave ME flashback. Then my friend tells the worker (Alexis) what she use's currently and she goes on to say "oh that's better then the morphe and elf" and I say " oh that one gave my a lot of flashback" then I go to put a product away and the worker (Alexis) turns to me and says in a very snarky way, " how old are you" and I respond and she goes on to say "you should apply because every time I say something you contradict it" and honestly I did not think about it in the moment but it really made me feel uncomfortable. Now idk if she meant it in a nice way but maybe she could have said it in a nicer tone and used better language. I think I am allowed to have an opinion on a product considering and have tried alot of makeup products before. Now this review it not to make you stop going to ulta it's just to put out our experience while shopping at this establishment out there. We also do want to jeopardize someone's job but, we are fed up with the treatment we are receiving and really want to see a change soon. read more
