Don't usually review chain stores but this has to be an exception because of the EXCEPTIONAL service my MIL and I received yesterday from Savannah! My MIL and I are not very makeup savvy and needed help matching a foundation to our complexions. After failing on our own we looked for help and Savannah went above and beyond. She took her time helping us match and also finding complimenting blush and setting spray to finish a look. All while giving up great application tips and overall friendliness. It's so rare to get this type of genuine customer service these days that I just couldn't wait to go home and leave a review. Thank you Savannah for all your help! Always have such a great experience when I go to Sam from Benefit this is my 2nd time getting my eye brows done by her and she is very welcoming and knowledgeable. The 2 times I've gone to her go just to do a $91 service from her and up spending $200-500 thanks to her help when needing to re-up on things. I would highly recommend going to Sam. read more

I went in with my daughter after having Ulta be recommended to us for her hair care needs. We walked in and it really is a nice looking store and it was easy to see and get to the hair care product's. And then the crickets started to chirp. We needed someone who knew the products and could help us with what my daughter needed. I did see a woman checking someone out and then she was gone. Everyone else looked like customers. This place is pricy and I expected (as our Freind said they would help) to have someone come and and ask If we needed any assistance. We did need assistance and it never came. read more

DO NOT BOOK HAIR SERVICES IF YOU HAVE AN IMPORTANT EVENT! I can't speak for the quality of the hair services, but the booking process is a mess. I made two appointments for hair services (bang trim and a blowout) with Caro for my sister and I on a day we had a wedding to attend. My appointment kept disappearing from the Ulta website and I had to rebook multiple times. I called to confirm I was booked and booked the second appointment for my sister's bang trim. Her appointment also disappeared from the online system and we had to rebook. My OTHER sister was also booked with Olga since we are all going to this wedding. My sister's appointment was cancelled in the morning but I received a call 45 minutes before my appointment that the stylist had called out. My sister's appointment with Olga was also previously rescheduled because they wanted to make room for someone else who was requesting a color service. We were accommodating but they would not accommodate us. We were told both stylists called out, and I get it that people get sick, but two stylists in one morning? It was a horrible experience just trying to get an appointment :( and now we have no one to do our hair before the wedding. Wedding is today. read more

Store is nicely organized and has a large skincare section! The store general manager is an absolute sweetheart and has assisted me multiple times and she is so kind! However the associates here have zero intentions of offering assistance. The younger girls who work the registers always have attitude and treat customers as if their an inconvenience. If you ask them a question, they act like they have zero knowledge on anything in the store. The tall, older woman with short hair and glasses is very passive aggressive and rude. If I'm there and see her hanging around the registers I wait till she leaves. (Have had several sour interactions with her.) I write this review today because I witnessed an interaction between the cashier and another customer that rubbed me the wrong way. This elderly woman was asking simple questions about a product and the two girls at the register were giggling and making faces in front of this woman. It was very unfortunate to see their behavior towards her and I personally felt second hand embarrassment for those cashiers. Why on earth would anyone treat a elderly woman like that. Nevertheless, the store does have some awesome employees, but the rest should really consider finding a new place of employment if customer's are such an inconvenience to them read more

Huge, beautiful store. Hollister finally has a proper selection of make-up. The shelves are still being stocked, but there were plenty of employees that asked me if I needed help while I browsed. I didn't see any hairdressers in the salon yet, but I did see a facialist applying under eye treatments to a customer. I purchased many items for Christmas gifts and spent $$$$ and the cashier looked to add a gift with purchase, but they were out and didn't offer a replacement. That's a bummer, but overall still a nice store experience. read more

I got my hair cut by Maddie today and I was so mad and heartbroken she butchered my hair cut. She knew she didn't know what she was doing still reassured me and swear she'd be able to do the cut she cut my bangs so short I asked for a butterfly cut with curtain bangs I have long hair that goes to my waist band on my pants my hair goes up to my bra strap now and my bangs go by my eyebrows and they're not even they're shorter on one side they're not layered properly I'm really upset super upset and I would suggest not getting your haircut here at all ever. I called before making the appointment and told them that this is exactly what I was worried about and wanted to make sure that they specialize in this haircut and they guaranteed me that it would come out great and that they knew how to do the haircut and I get there and they screw my hair up so bad. I needed to feel good about myself today I didn't need this s***. You don't mess with somebody's hair if you don't know what you're doing then don't do it you know I can respect somebody telling me like hey I just don't know what I'm doing cool you know give me a trim and call it a day dude here's a tip but you pretend to know something that you don't know and you screw my hair up like that my hair takes so long to grow out and there's nothing I can do when I go to try to get it fixed the only thing that they can do is cut it shorter I really hope someone takes those scissors away from you cause you don't belong as a stylist until you can be trusted to do what you say you're going to do until you can be trusted no and you perfect your skills cuz honey you're a freaking mistake at this point. read more

I'm happy we finally have an Ulta in Hollister, unfortunately I'd much rather drive to Gilroy. The stores layout is a bit different than other Ulta's I've been to, which is fine. The customer service on the other hand, is horrible. I'm not sure if it has to do with the age of the employees but if you're planning on working with customers then I suggest kindness come into play. Also, if the cashiers could possibly get off their cell phones when assisting customers that would be awesome. Jocelyn was ringing me out and stopped everything to text someone and then proceeded to put her phone down and read the text message while I stood there watching her. I went in to get my hair done for graduation and my hair was so beautiful and long. i went to a stylist who had done my hair previously with no issues, and this time my hair was completely messed up. my hair was at least 28+ inches long, and the bottom of my hair was Completely ORANGE & FRIED. i had to go somewhere else the next day & spend hundreds to fix it. ON TOP OF THAT my hair was so fried i had to chop off my LONG hair!! Words couldn't explain how pissed i was! and on top of that they told me it was $24 to fix there mistakes?!? I go to get my refund but that doesn't change the fact they fucked up my hair & i had to cut it off! When i went to get my refund an employee rudely stopped me as i was walking out to leave and asked what the stylist did wrong because my hair looked good. i told her "i had to get my hair chopped off and color corrected by someone else because your stylist fucked up." The audacity they had to be rude after i just wanted to get my refund and leave is crazy. I'm a service provider myself and this kind of customer service is unacceptable. Store is new so it's very nice and ordered. Staff is nice and available but doesn't seem to be familiarized with what products they have in the store, but like I said, they are new . Stock seems low but hoping that will change once supply and demand becomes apparent. And they carry Mac! Yay! I'm not real sure about the store layout. It's totally backwards from other stores. Cashiers are in the BACK of the store (?) Seems like this would encourage thief, placing items in purchased bags but I'm sure there is a reason behind it that I'm not aware of. In fact, the only time someone spoke to us was when we were leaving, and it was, "have a good night."
