Was out and about and decided to drive by and see if i could talk to someone. Yelp states they are open until 9, and they have a voicemail that seems up to date and yet the place seems abandoned. The weird thing is you can kinda see their phone number on a sign through the window and there are products inside like you would expect a place like this to have, but it looks totally abandoned besides that.... The front looks like a store out of business, no signs or advertising. Oh well.. Guess they took a leave of absence and decided to keep their voicemail...?

I don't know if I went on an off day or if it was just that I got one of the less experienced girls (she didn't even tell me her name) but she said the other girls who did eyebrows were her bosses. First of all I sat in the chair forever, waiting for her to find eyebrow scissors that were lost somewhere... sure I understand it happens, and maybe if I was at my friend's house I would completely ignore something like this.. but this is a business and I expect a little more organization. Also had to ask her a few times about spots she missed so she wasn't very thorough, I'm a little picky (as I should be) with my eyebrows. The $12 fee is nothing really, but If you're going to charge a little more than your competition, you should actually be better than them. Other than that, the shop is cute and has a nice atmosphere.. you're basically in a little house with a bunch of girls. I'm thinking of giving it one more try with a different girl because of the reviews here, hopefully I'll have something better to say next time!

So I called and asked if they took walk in's for waxing, which they did! I set my navigation on my phone, and it took me all over Gilroy... I ended up having to call to find out how to get there. The lady on the phone was very friendly and gave perfect directions on how to get there. The building this place is located in is beautiful! It's like an old Victorian house. Grace (who was the lady who did my eyebrows) was very friendly and engaging! We had a great conversation while she was waxing away. I felt completely at home there, and came away with some awesome looking eyebrows!!

Sat down in the chair, got handed a COLD water bottle from a male. The chair did not work, but I didn't much care since I needed a pedicure so badly. Nail polish taken off. Cut the nails. Cuticles. With that being said, I can not get out of my mind what I recently witnessed at Salon 218 and the shear nastiness of a staff member toward the other staff members Let me explain...... I booked an appointment with one of the stylist there and was eager to try something new with my hair and after speaking with the stylist on the phone, I was even more excited. She was very knowledgeable and suggested we discuss when she saw my hair. I walked into the salon for my appointment and was greeted by a very friendly young girl. Sat down, met my stylist, got to chatting, and everything seemed great. Here's the creepy part, another stylist who was working across the room kept looking over and almost giving me a look of disgust, she kept doing this over and over and I started getting very uncomfortable. After a 1/2 hour or so, this stylist walks over to where I'm sitting and starts interrogating the stylist doing my hair, she was so rude and insulting, I couldn't believe what she was saying to my stylist right in front of me. It was so unprofessional, unnecessary, and she even used profanity, I was speechless and pretty much bullying my stylist. I was shocked and at that moment I wanted to leave because it was so uncomfortable. My stylist whole demeanor completely changed and she looked embarrassed and ashamed. I felt horrible for her. Come to find out the "mean girl" was the manager!!!! I was stunned!!! This manager continued to insult, be negative, be unkind, and 100% unprofessional to every staff member that she came into contact with. I have never felt so uncomfortable and sad for these women that work there in my entire life and I truly mean that. It has bothered me so much that after several days have passed and I still can't get it out of my mind. This manager was purposely going out of her way to attack the staff, it was disgusting. I loved the way my hair turned out, it was beautiful, and my stylist was excellent!! Unfortunately I will NEVER walk through the doors of that salon EVER again because of the inhuman way those girls were treated that day. For the "manager"...... If you were representing my business, you would be fired immediately!!! Your behavior, cruel intentions, and your unkind words to everyone you came into contact with, and I watched personally watched you for almost 2 hours. You didn't care that clients were there, you didn't care using vulgar language, and most importantly you didn't care that you purposely made another human being feel less than, actually you made several ladies feel that way. My advice to you is either be more aware of your behavior or get out of a business were you are in the publics view. It takes a lot of effort and wasted energy to be unkind, being kind and friendly is so much easier. In today's society and the negative world we live in, no one deserves how you CHOSE to treat those girls. I too own a business in this town, it's a small town and word travels fast. I highly suggest being aware of your behavior and I pray you are not spoken too or treated the way you treat others. I purposely did not put names in my review because I could only image the retaliation that would ensue. I will pray for you and your staff, God bless
