The salon itself is clean, the girls who work there are all friendly, and you can't go wrong with any of the hairstylists there. Ciara is my go-to and always will be while she's still local, but Mane + Skin is a solid spot for a more luxury cut and color where you'll leave feeling great and having healthy, gorgeous hair! Regardless of where I've lived, I've always made the drive down to see Painted Hair by Ciara specifically at this salon, because she does a phenomenal job every time. My hair looks and feels great after seeing her, she listens to what I ask for, and the colors the girls use LAST a long time. I can go 8-9 months after my appointment before it really starts to fade, and I can get away with my one-a-year treat to go see her in the Spring or Summer time. The salon is owned by Sheri, and the environment is always welcoming and comfortable from the moment you walk in. Annie is genuinely so nice and easy to talk to. Over time, she's honestly become like a family friend--my aunt, sister, and cousin all go to her as well, which says a lot about how much we trust her. I mainly go to Annie for perms, and every single time she delivers. My curls always come out defined, bouncy, and exactly the look I'm going for. Even weeks later, my hair still holds its shape, which really shows the quality of her work. I've also gone to her for haircuts and face-framing pieces, and she always knows how to enhance my look without taking off too much length. She really listens and makes sure you're comfortable before making any changes. One thing that really stands out to me is her integrity. If for any reason my hair doesn't fully curl the way it should, she is more than willing to fix it--and she does it for free. I've been to other salons that charge you just to correct something that didn't come out right, so this honestly means a lot and shows how much she cares about her clients. What I appreciate most is her consistency. After going to her for this long, I've never had a bad experience. She takes her time, checks in throughout the process, and you can tell she genuinely cares about the results. With that being said, I can not get out of my mind what I recently witnessed at Salon 218 and the shear nastiness of a staff member toward the other staff members Let me explain...... I booked an appointment with one of the stylist there and was eager to try something new with my hair and after speaking with the stylist on the phone, I was even more excited. She was very knowledgeable and suggested we discuss when she saw my hair. I walked into the salon for my appointment and was greeted by a very friendly young girl. Sat down, met my stylist, got to chatting, and everything seemed great. Here's the creepy part, another stylist who was working across the room kept looking over and almost giving me a look of disgust, she kept doing this over and over and I started getting very uncomfortable. After a 1/2 hour or so, this stylist walks over to where I'm sitting and starts interrogating the stylist doing my hair, she was so rude and insulting, I couldn't believe what she was saying to my stylist right in front of me. It was so unprofessional, unnecessary, and she even used profanity, I was speechless and pretty much bullying my stylist. I was shocked and at that moment I wanted to leave because it was so uncomfortable. My stylist whole demeanor completely changed and she looked embarrassed and ashamed. I felt horrible for her. Come to find out the "mean girl" was the manager!!!! I was stunned!!! This manager continued to insult, be negative, be unkind, and 100% unprofessional to every staff member that she came into contact with. I have never felt so uncomfortable and sad for these women that work there in my entire life and I truly mean that. It has bothered me so much that after several days have passed and I still can't get it out of my mind. This manager was purposely going out of her way to attack the staff, it was disgusting. I loved the way my hair turned out, it was beautiful, and my stylist was excellent!! Unfortunately I will NEVER walk through the doors of that salon EVER again because of the inhuman way those girls were treated that day. For the "manager"...... If you were representing my business, you would be fired immediately!!! Your behavior, cruel intentions, and your unkind words to everyone you came into contact with, and I watched personally watched you for almost 2 hours. You didn't care that clients were there, you didn't care using vulgar language, and most importantly you didn't care that you purposely made another human being feel less than, actually you made several ladies feel that way. My advice to you is either be more aware of your behavior or get out of a business were you are in the publics view. It takes a lot of effort and wasted energy to be unkind, being kind and friendly is so much easier. In today's society and the negative world we live in, no one deserves how you CHOSE to treat those girls. I too own a business in this town, it's a small town and word travels fast. I highly suggest being aware of your behavior and I pray you are not spoken too or treated the way you treat others. These two ladies are some of the nicest you will ever meet each with a warm sense of humor and a caring spirit. I had a morning ceremony and they both came in early to make sure I would be ready in time :) Brenda was so excited for me and had bagels and champagne for me to indulge in as a mini celebration before the wedding. I have been going to Brenda for the past year to get my hair done by her. I had recently had a hair disaster with a different stylist and Brenda rescued my hair (on a last minute request and staying way later than when her shift ended) and she's been my stylist ever since. She knows hair, not just how to make it pretty but how to keep it healthy too. She's creative and always has different ideas about styles and colors I could try. There was no one else I would trust more to do my hair for my wedding. She added pink streaks in my hair so that when it was pulled back it looked like a bouquet of roses. She created the perfect style for my big day. I felt beautiful and got a ton of compliments! I have been going to Marjorie for years to get my eyebrows waxed. I live in San Jose but gladly make the drive to Morgan Hill so I can keep going to Marjorie. She is also an excellent makeup artist. The way she did my makeup for the wedding was perfect and just how I wanted it, soft and subtle and fairy-life. I was beyond happy with how my entire look turned out for my wedding.
