I was extremely disappointed with the customer service I received. If I could give zero stars, I would. I left my bag of items on the counter and walked out because the experience was so frustrating. I asked two store associates for help finding a product that was listed as in stock online. The first associate completely ignored me. When I asked another associate, they simply told me the store didn't have it and that it would take 24 hours for the inventory to update. What was disappointing is that no one asked what the product was or even attempted to check or help me look for it. It felt very dismissive. Two days later, the item still shows as in stock at this location online. Customer service and a willingness to help customers go a long way. Went in today to get an appt for haircut. Recd appt for 5:00 PM. seems that they paired me with someone that does not cut short hair. My hair is already pretty short, & they should have told me they do t have anyone to cut hair short. I have been going here about 10 years. I value honesty, I value the ability to make an informed decision in regards to my hair. I'm not upset that a novice poorly cut my hair way too short. I'm upset that I was robbed of the ability to make decisions on the direction of my hair. I'm not going to go into details about what happened. what I will say is when a stylist says "I have multiple years experience" and she takes over 2 hours to do a simple pixie, tags my head with the toe of the clippers, leaves me badly blended, and did everything I asked her not to do.... it's fair to says that I WAS LIED TO.... This was also done to me with a technical trainer and the service manager in the salon. I'm so sick of Ulta Beauty. I had an eyebrow appointment booked at 12pm today but even getting that appointment was a hassle. I called the salon on Monday and they tried to tell me that they don't take appointments here? I said I'm pretty sure that you do, so she put me on hold and sure enough when she came back, we scheduled my appointment for Wednesday. I got my confirmation text and saw in the app I have my appointment scheduled. I come in 10 minutes early and wait for the brow lady. When noon rolls around, a tall, rude man struts over and says he booked her for noon. I show the brow lady my text and when I click on the link that takes me to the app, my appointment is gone. The rude man smirks at me and says this new lady he grabbed is the noon appointment. I know that these employees are paid crappy wages and retail jobs suck, but being an asshole isn't part of the job description. There's plenty of places to get your salon needs met, sans the attitude and incompetence. read more

Came into this marvelous store of magic looking for a new foundation that doesn't run when I sweat. I was greeted by 4 ladies and all four ask if I needed help. The third and fourth helpful ladies did a wonderful service for me. This Ulta always has anything and everything I'm looking for. There's a great selection of makeup, hair/skin products, and soaps, and the staff is always helpful. I had four employees ask if I needed assistance. For someone with sensitive skin, the Ulta brand of makeup is fairly good quality. I use the contour kit and brow filler without any breakouts. If I ever need a perfume, Philosophy body wash, or skincare item, I always come here. Their shampoo/conditioner jumbo sale is also a favorite and worth every penny. And although the staff in the make up area are super friendly, the cashiers are driving my business away. I still found some other things I "needed" and the cashier was so dismissive and never even looked at me. And she seemed irritated when she said "next customer" and even after I greeted her, she still seemed annoyed to be there. This has been how it has been the past few times I've come in. Or sometimes they are so involved in gossip with each other they don't even notice the customers. I have never been a fan of Sephora but few times I've been in, I never felt like an inconvenience like I did today and I'm he past at Ulta. I've been shopping here forever and am disappointed. I have been getting my hair cut by Jamie Wade for years and I can't believe I haven't left her a good review yet to let the world know how truly incredible she is. I have never been good with my hair or really known what to do with it, but Jamie sure does. I come in and show her maybe a few reference photos of what I think looks cool and she tweaks it w color and shape to suit me and my face shape and everything. She knows exactly what to do to make her clients comfortable, and leave looking beautiful. That girl is magic when it comes to hair. 10/10 recommend. I will never go to anyone else. As a fan of all beauty things, I love Ulta's selection and return policy + their rewards points. While I hate to admit this, I do return things after I realize they aren't going to work for me. I try my best to only purchase things I know I'll keep. But if I need to do a return, they are super sweet. I spend a fairly decent amount, so I definitely am helping to support this store overall, but I would never go back if I didn't feel that they are consistently in a good mood. SA's are never rude to me, they ask if I need help, and in line, they're efficient, but not "rushing" people. I've gotten a little miffed when it takes a while, but...it's really not their fault. If people feel the service is slow, or rude, try watching to see exactly how many purchases are "easy purchases". Either people want to barter about "what price the sign said"or they argue about clearly stale returns. This isn't a beauty store, it's a Beauty Savings & Loan. Every time I'm there, several folks are geared up to state their case... "Yes, I used the entire bottle but it REALLY wasn't good for my skin, can I get a refund?" The one thing that is not great is the inventory and overall neatness of the stores. I realize everyone and their children and "fumbly" husbands want to see what makeup is all about. Messy testers are a given; I think the main issue is just trying to keep them and the beauty "tryout" stations at each endcap as clean and sanitary as possible. Also, the stock needs to be replenished more consistently; this may be the fault of the manufacturers, so Ulta may not have as much control as possible. Maybe if people didn't buy and return everything, more stock would be available. Don't worry, I am keeping myself in check, but beg everyone to do the same also. She was spot on with the first choice but didn't complain when I asked to try different shades to make sure. I walked out feeling awesome and with some more knowledge in makeup. Several reviews of Ulta mention that the customer service is lacking. I guess they must have changed up the staff since then because I thought the service was great. I was looking for Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer (which Ulta doesn't carry) so the salesperson suggested a Smashbox CC cream. I actually like my new CC cream better than my old standby. The salesperson was also eager to discuss the pros and cons of eyeliners since I wasn't happy with my current one. I like that Ulta has high end and drug store brands in the same place; although Ulta is more expensive than Walgreens most of the time, so I end up buying my Revlon stuff there instead. The only thing I don't like about this place is the salon. It feels very "exposed." I used to get my hair cut at Ulta before they remodeled it to be so open. I don't think I'd use the salon there now. read more

Dear Ulta, Please get your salon employees together. I went to get my hair "ombre'd" yesterday and it came out nothing like an ombre! The guy that did my hair, bless his heart because he really did try, didnt even blend my bleached hair to make it look natural! It looked like stair cases in my hair and he was gonna let me walk out of there like that?! I was waiting for him to try and fix it but he didn't. Even the other ladies getting their hair done were looking at me like "ooh girl! He messed up yo hurr!" How embarrassing for both me and your stylist! So I ended up bringing it up to him because I sure as hell was not going to walk out of there like that. He ended up blending my hair and dying the top of the blonds a little bit darker. It came out a little better but it looks more of highlights than anything. I told the register lady that it was my first visit and theres a 25% off deal going on. She said it expired already. Today, 8/27/14, I checked online and the deal was still going on! 8/03/14 - 8/30/14 to be exact. So I called today and she claimed they had one last week that recently expired. Excuse me hunnie, how can you have one going on for one week when it clearly states the deal is for the whole month?! Now she says i have to drive all the way back up there, and waste another hour and a half of my time to get refunded. THIS COULD'VE AND SHOULD'VE BEEN HANDLED THAT DAY I WAS THERE! I've asked the beauty advisors for advice on how to create a neutral eye look, what the right lip liner is for the right kind of lipstick, how to keep a smoky eye from making me look garish, and so much more. After wondering around the store looking for products, someone finally came by and asked me did I need help. I told the young lady I was looking for mineral foundation and why I was looking for a new one. She freely informed me on a brand that would be beneficial to my skin as well as pairing me up with a consultant. She was nice enough, sharing with me what kind of ulta products I could purchase to get better skin results and to duplicate the makeup application she was providing at the time. I wasn't thrilled about the makeup (nor the prices), so I'm just going to work on getting better skin so I won't have to buy makeup to cover up my imperfections! read more

The store underwent a remodle a while back. I'm not so happy with that. The salon is much smaller and feels like an after thought now. The facilities for it are kind of cheap feeling to me as well. I have not had a cut or style there since the change, so I can't comment on the experience. The layout changes has made it harder for me to find what I'm looking for, but I will probably get used to where things are in time. The selection is always good at Ulta and I generally eventually find what I'm looking for. I do think Ulta's prices have crept up a little over time, but it is still a good place to come and look for things that are nicer than what you might find at Walgreen's or HEB. read more

I've come in here multiple times for recommendations on new skincare products and the staff members have always been amazing at recommending products and listening to my requirements as I can be very picky. I have super sensitive skin, so I do have to return products until I find the perfect ones, and they've always been amazing at taking products back, and if I wanted they'll exchange them with no questions asked. I recently visited this Ulta location a day or two ago. I went in with my boyfriend's mom. Well, when we went inside we were met with two employees. They asked us is we had any masks to wear and my boyfriends mom and me kinda stood there a moment while she checked her purse. I asked the employee if I could just hold my shirt over my nose and mouth as a makeshift mask and the employees gave me a dirty look and said no. I'm pretty sure they could only have people wear a mask by law in April. Now it's our own choice to wear one or not. Melanie at the Salon is AMAZING! This review only reflects my experience at the salon. The store itself does not deserve 5 stars in my honest opinion. Melanie is fairly new to Ulta, so I was able to book an appointment online late Friday night for Saturday afternoon. I did not know who would be doing my hair, but I was not disappointed! Melanie has 30 years experience as a cosmetologist. She was able to do exactly what I asked for quite easily! I had 5 inches taken off (which many cosmetologists are scared to do), and she made it perfect! She is very easy to talk to, understands what you ask for, and doesn't try to upsell you on everything. At checkout, she asked if I wanted to book my next appointment 6-8 weeks out, which is big kudos for me!! Great customer service!! Book with Melanie! You won't be disappointed!! read more

Angel is the worst stylist working at this location, he is RUDE and disrespectful. I have been coming to this store for the past 4 years, everyone was so nice, helpful and professional until my last visit when I had several services done, by the way my stylist was Patricia, she is awesome and very professional! But Angel was horrible and made me feel really bad when I was trying to get out some hair that went inside my mask during my haircut, he approached to me asking me what was wrong with I explained that my nose was itching because of hair and I was trying to get out, even though I never took my mask off nor even pulled it down he said that I was not allowed to do that!!!! I also saw him screaming at another customer when her mask went a little under her nose while laughing. Against my own inner advice, (and I really should have listened), I was in a rush, and instead of just waiting and going to my wonderful, usual salon, I went to the Ulta Salon in Humble for a high-light, cut, and style... I left with a complete disaster... I kid you not.. Nina, the stylist at Ulta that did my hair, notified me, but only after starting on my high-lights, that she had only been there for 2 days, came from Cost Cutters where she only did cuts, ended up leaving my hair with large patches, from where the color bled, with some orange areas, some multi-toned areas, (and NOT muti-toned in a good way), and even the cut was uneven, unacceptable, and just sloppy.... ...I literally left in tears... ...The other stylists there just kept giving me the "deer in the headlights look", shaking their heads, and commenting with each other, but none of them actually came over to assist or take over.... ...I just came back from having my usual, amazing stylist, Jamie at Epic Looks, who, bless her soul, worked her magic to get me looking at least decent again... It' will take at least two to three more consecutive high-lights, growth and treatment to get me back to my original hair health and high-lighted blonde hue... ...Yeah, it was THAT HORRIFIC.... ..She showed me underneath how drastic the jacked up so-called high-light job left my hair.... I have never been so appalled, and even more so disappointed that Ulta would allow a paying consumer to leave there in the state in which I left.... Yes, I was still charged for my jacked hair... And how irresponsible of Ulta to allow an individual / stylist, with no recent color experience, to be on the floor, unsupervised, untrained, unqualified, to botch unassuming patrons... read more
