I didn't realize that if you don't walk in with full glam on your face that you get treated like garbage. I know how to do my makeup but don't find it necessary to have it done 24/7. Went in for a few things as well as to find a product that a makeup reviewer was raving about. The girl told me she would check on it since it may be a discontinued product (it's not) and she'd be back. I walked around for 30min and she never came back to let me know anything. I will split this review into two parts, one for the store and one for the salon. Ulta Beauty Store : I find this to be a very cramped store but maybe it's the times that I go, however they are almost always fully stocked on the items I want to purchase. I don't normally ask for assistance with cosmetics but I'm always greeted and asked if I need assistance. All around good customer service on the storefront. The Salon at Ulta : I've come to the salon at Ulta on multiple occasions and have always been beyond satisfied with my Stylist Delia. Delia is everything I wanted in a stylist. She is like one of your best friends when you're in her chair and I love her and that aspect of how she treats her clients. She's always done precisely what I asked and it always looks just like the reference picture I bring her. I'm beyond thrilled to have a stylist that I mesh so well with. Her cut & color are always perfection. The prices are more than competitive compared to other salons and the overall experience is what keeps me coming back to this Salon. When I am shopping I do not expect to be standing in line for 5 minutes while the people in front of me keep running back to the aisles to get or swap items and 2 other associates are chatting near the front door. I do not expect to be required to provide my phone number to provide me a price check on an item. I do not expect to have to provide my number to allow my friend who doesn't shop with you to check out since your staff would not allow her to proceed with her purchase without an Ulta Rewards membership. I then called Customer service to complain and was hung up on before I could even say anything other than I was calling to complain. I then texted customer service and was told that they had to confirm my Ultamate Rewards acct in order to even make a complaint. I then tried to call 2 more times and will admit I became more and more hostile with each customer service rep who indicated I should hold and then hung up on me. The final rep didn't even try and pretend she was going to get a supervisor and just hung up. I will be returning the items I purchased tomorrow and then I will be contacting customer service to have my entire acct removed from your system. You lost at least 5 customers today due to your company's blatant disregard for the privacy of your clients. As a person who has both had a stalker and who has been affected by identity theft, I expect more from the companies I give my money to. Our relationship is untenable and we are breaking up. Went to this location on two separate occasions a day apart with my African American kids. Each time I went the workers followed my kids around the store as if they have to steal. I watched them closely as they trailed my daughters on both days. These ladies need to get a grip on life and be taught that not every person steals and all customers should be treated the same. They were so busy watching my daughters that they didn't notice the Causian baby who put chapstick in her purse. I will never bring my kids here again nor will I shop here ! One cashier working with at least six people in line and again all the rest of the employees are just standing around. Really nice location. I was helped by a nice gentlemen there when I went in since I'd never been to the location. I purchased two urban decay items. The primer and the setting spray. He tried to sell me on high end items like Clinique but I just went with what I know. Next time I go, when I have longer to look around, I will most definitely explore the place so I can see everything. I literally just went for a touch up on my existing balayage that I've had for YEARS! On the right... gave me on the left. Then when I went back for them to fix it she made my hair ORANGE at the root. Said I needed "more visits to achieve the blonde in my pictures" uhhh but I been this color and walked in with it just my roots had grown out.... literally can't even admit she just fucked it up and changed the color completely. I really don't like this location. The only reason I shop here is because it's the closest one to me. The staff is very stand-offish. If you look like a million bucks they will be glad to ask if you need help and try their best to sell you products. If you walk in there looking too casual don't expect much service. Also, when I was in the hair salon, two of the stylists were talking about a client they spoke to on the phone. The one stylist mentioned how the person had an accent so she was probably Spanish. Then she mentioned how she would've probably charged her more money because, and I quote " you know how those Spanish women have thick hair". Which mind you I am also Latina (this they didn't know) with thick hair and I wasn't charged much at all. I've been tolerating this store for a couple years now based on convenience, but I will never be shopping here again. This is the worst Ulta I've ever been in, or cosmetics store in general for that matter. With the exception of one man and an older woman (both super nice and helpful), the staff is either completely useless or rude. It's also the only store I've been in where I received noticeably worse service when I was dressed "lower class". Once I was looking for my foundation and was approached twice by the same employee (tall girl with a bun) and told they didn't allow testing. I hadn't even touched a bottle and told her repeatedly I wasn't trying new shades. Not only did she harass me, she didn't offer to help. Another time an employee flat out lied to me so I would buy a more expensive product. I was looking for eyeshadow primer and the woman told me the only brand they carried was Urban Decay. A few minutes later I found several in the cheaper brands. At first I gave her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she didn't know they carried them, but later I saw her straightening a shelf one of the primers was on. Made an appointment at Ulta this morning just to get my hair straightened and my ends clipped. When I told the stylist (Karen) my name she said "oh your booked with me" and I said okay. She then said "I don't do ethnic people hair" and proceeded to tell me there was one person in the whole of the salon that does "ethnic" hair but wouldn't be in until the afternoon. Im used to Ulta down south having fully stocked their shelves and always having people around to help. But since I've moved to the Oakleaf area I have found shopping at Ulta to be a disappointing experience. Every time I try to buy the Anastasia brow kit ,they are out of it. I have been trying to buy it for a year and a half . Each time I try, it's unavailable so I'm advised to buy something else. So I do and it is satisfactory to hold me over for awhile. I've tried 5 times now with no luck. ( my hair color/eyebrow color is quite common so I'm not looking for a specialty or uncommon color. Most times you have to hunt someone down to get help. That can make things less enjoyable as well. Another issue: no brow bar. This Store is in a great area, so it services a lot of people. If the shelves were stocked and more employees available, I thin business would do better. The only saving grace was there was a guy that came to help me out and he showed me how he uses a different eyebrow kit and I bought it from him -but if not for that I would rate 2 stars. 1 star for location, 1 star for having some other (albeit lower quality) brow kits. read more

This is the Ulta located in the Oakleaf shopping center. I normally head to the one in the Town Center, but was headed to OP for another errand, and needed some beauty supplies ASAP. Definitely smaller than the TC location... and maybe it's just me, but they layout is not that great. Nevertheless, still the same great (and my favorite) brands, decent pricing and loads of options. I love the different eyeshadow pallets, and picked up a sweet one from Urban Decay that I can't wait to use! Also love that Ulta sends out a ton of coupons and if you aren't a rewards member, and are in here a bit, it's totally worth giving up you info! A few times a year, they send you the rewards option, and based on how much you have spent, you get tons of free cool stuff! And who doesn't love free stuff? read more

This location is disappointing. The associates are rarely helpful and somewhat discriminatory. Its close to home, so if I need something quick its convenient. During today's visit I picked up an Ulta exclusive product. There was only 1 left. It took multiple associates to figure out the answer to a simple question. They seemed aggravated that I would ask if they may get any more shipments of the product. The $3.50 off $10 purchase reward is useful, but I would suggest another location. read more

I'm a little disappointed. So today a pallet and brushes were ordered for curb side pickup. We came a bit early because we weren't aware that there was a time schedule. So we come and pull up to the side. The first thing we see is a lady walk out without gloves on (this will come in later) So we call the store to tell them that we were here and ready- and the woman on the phone was rude. It was a unpleasant phone call with an attitude on one side- and the side wasn't mine. They tell us that we have to wait around an hour- for brushes and a pallet. The payment had gone through and everything was okay in that department. So we wait around an hour. and there was little activity in the store from what we could see. Around 15 minutes before the hour was over we see an employee shouting at a lady to stop calling- i don't know the full situation so i can't comment much more on that. So we waited for over an hour for once again- a pallet and brushes. So here is where the no gloves comes in. Why did it take so long to grab a pallet and brushes off the shelf? i first figured that they had to sanitize everything down before bringing it out and whatnot... but then the no gloves disproved that. if they were concerned with sanitary issues then the gloves would be there. now i don't see a problem with no gloves as some people would. i am only saying that because it disproves my theory. Now what other issue would be there. there were not other people rushing up to the curve to pick up product- in fact we only saw about three cars actually stop. So the only theory that I could come up with is that they were lagging behind and not keeping up with things because they had the hour that they could wait before the things had to be brought out; which equates to pure laziness. Now when we finally received the email and pulled up to the curve to call the phone call was okay- she then put us on hold and ended up hanging up on us. She then carelessly came out and dropped the product in the trunk and gave a unpleasant "have a good day". For spending $100 here i was very disappointed. Corona and not having customers in the store is not an excuse to slack off. read more

Horrible customer service. Dont expect the staff to help you if you are wearing very little or no make up, and casual clothes. The employees are snobby, and have a horrible attitude. Everytime I've been in this store all 5 employees are behind the counter goofing off on their phones or talking. Me and my mother went into Ulta just to look today. Linda (I believe her name was) walked right up to me and was very helpful. She matched my foundation, eyebrows, and contour perfectly. I absolutely LOVED the products she showed me & usually I'm not this impressed. She introduced me to the bye bye foundation, bye bye undereye, and the glow kit by IT. She even impressed my mom (who never buys any makeup products besides cheap drug store ones). This was my first visit to Ulta and I will only come here from now on. I went in this Ulta yesterday and walked around the store TWICE looking for some NARS blush with no luck and no HELP. There were 4 associates standing around chatting about vacation, etc, and not one person helped me when i obviously looked distressed. I just grabbed another blush and went on my way.THEN i get to the counter to use my measly $3 off coupon that was sent to my email only to learn that the blush i grabbed was too "high end" and i could not use the coupon. I ventured to Ulta and spoke with a stylist regarding my dry, kertain treated, colored /highlighted and flat ironed hair. She took her time, discussed what I do use, what seems to work and gave me her opinion... and it wasn't the most expensive. Well... IT IS FABULOUS ! I've always kind of passively been a fan of Ulta. I would maybe pop in around Christmas to grab cute gifts for the women in my family but that was just about it. Now that I've gotten back into wearing makeup and dilly dallying around in those type of things I decided to pop in. I was pleasantly surprised by their selection especially given the size. I feel like I've been in larger Ulta's. At any rate, they had some really good sales and I'm happy they carry different brands/lines that are found in department stores. They have a salon in the back and that was awesome as well, you get a 20% off coupon for it when you buy something. They have some great deals sometimes and they carry hard to find salon brands like Redken. Only issue I have is the staff isn't very attentive, also the line was long and had to wait a while. Okay. Deep breath. My first time in there was a few days ago to get a cut and color. I picked the salon manager to do it. She did a horrible ass job. She gapped up my bangs on one side, didn't even blend my ombré, and my layers were uneven. I called back and asked to come and have someone fix it. A girl named Manda ended up fixing my hair, which was not easy!! A manager there even told me Manda had to fix other stylists' mistakes several times already, and she's only been there for 3 months. She did an amazing job and I am so pleased, I had to give her a hug. She talked me through everything and was so helpful and knowledgeable about products and styles.
