Great service and great prices. This is my go to nail salon. I always see the nail tech Nicole, she's always super understanding and gives great advice. I had gotten a super light pink cat eye on my nails that i wanted on my toes aswell. She gave me advice on putting a color base coat on with the cat eye over it. Which elevated my pedicure completely. She was also extremely gentle and caring. My main concern was my cuticles which she took great care of, they look so clean! I have a thick nail bed and healthy nails that grow naturally. I get gel manicures when I travel so that my nails look nice without worry. I went to nails so happy because I've used them before. The experience was terrible. She layered the gel SO thick. I had weird lumps. They looked awful. What's worse is that she didn't see a problem and kept asking me what was wrong. Finally they agreed to redo them. They took the machine and very roughly filed the gel off. She cut a couple of my cuticles. They were bleeding. Another employee came over and reapplied the gel. It was the wrong color but at this point I just wanted to leave. My cuticles looked crazy during my entire trip from the rough treatment. I had so man hang nails. They were dry and red and most of my nails broke after I had the gel removed after my trip. My cuticles are still crazy and i had to trim my nails down to the skin. Awful! I was looking for a new salon and wanted to try Gel X nails. I found Nails So Happy via Google search and made an appointment online. I received a phone call shortly before from who I assume is the owner to let me know that the person selected wasn't there but they could either reschedule for tomorrow or someone else could fill in. I love that they called and I didn't just walk into a surprise. When I walked in the owner greeted me and was very kind and attentive. The salon is very clean and the music was not loud and unpleasant. I got a collagen pedicure first which was heavenly! My feet feel brand new! Then I got a full set of Gel X nails. I believe Lin was the lady that attended me and she was very sweet and gentle on my nails. It took us awhile with the language barrier to get the right look, but she was so accommodating and did whatever made me happy. Needless to say I am obsessed with my nails and my family's been raving about them. Went here to get a mani pedi and was underwhelmed. The man that did my nails seemed inexperienced and when doing my mani he cut 2 cuticles so short they were bleeding. Also rushed the polish application and so it took a long time for my toenails to dry. and I ended with a big smudges on 2 toes. Because of his incompetence my visit there lasted close to 2 hours! If i could give a zero, I would. Me and my sister went here before our trip tomorrow. We both left not "so happy". First off as soon as we walked into the door (we were the only customers there), we wanted to look at the colors and immediately were bombarded by workers that were adamant we sit down even though we havent even figured out the color we wanted yet; wanting to talk to each other about the choice. But we gave in and were immediately confused because they didnt sit us next to each other even though we were the only ones. My sister literally sat exactly behind me. We asked to be moved to sit together so we can talk but they just smiled and continued to do our nails right where we were. But the real reason I would give a true zero is for what happened next... as "Joe" is doing my nails. He gets to my pinky with the acrylic powder and i tell him right away that its not rounded at the top, its a square shape and bumpy. (Looked like a valley). He said "its okay, i have to buff and file, itll look good at the end promise". I ofcourse, go with it because I never get my nails done, i dont know the steps. I trusted the man. He then continues on, and starts to paint my nails. I stop him and tell him he never fixed the pinky. He proceeds to say no no its okay. But i tell him no, its not! I move my hand all directions so he understands and sees what i see and make him feel it. He gets upset and says i already painted it. I said okay? I told you earlier it was wrong! He then proceeds to raise his voice and say that since i turned my head to talk to my sister (that they sat behind me) that it was my fault. I immediately stop him there and say that is not an excuse because i caught the issue early and made him aware and he never said anything and i never moved my hand even when my head turned. He stayed quiet and was so upset i was asking him to make his mistake right that he takes his drill and starts taking off the paint and filing my pinky that the nail flakes being filed off went on the entire left hand because he didnt cover the other fingers. So now all of my left hand fingers need to be redone because the nail flakes were stuck in the paint. So he gets even more mad which i can tell from how aggressive his filing got that it hurt! He chipped the pinky tip and repaired it with the powder. Then as it was drying . I asked him to clean up the under layer of my right hand nails so at least that hand is done. He gets upset but he does drill it quickly to which my thumb got messed up. But i told him to just stop and not worry about my right hand anymore. I dont have time to be here longer. (Already there for over one and a half hours). He continues back with my left hand. Rushing so much that the gel never set properly so now the tops have streaks and are chipped already. I got there at 1230 and left there at 2:30. Its 4 now. Thats crazy thats theyre messed up and chipped already. The acrylic on my left hand is attached to my skin and not cleaned up. This was the worst experience i have ever had at a nail salon. I will never be back. So rude and unprofessional. The sweet lady at the front desk asked to look at my nails after I told her i am going to leave a poor review from the service I received, while i was paying but i was so upset at this point i wanted to just get out of there. I was there for 2 hours just for a simple set. OH, also!! They charged me an extra 5.94 for "shaping". Excuse me? Isnt that included and apart of the whole thing for me paying for a manicure??. You cant do nails without shaping. Thats how you make them. $70 down the drain. (No designs, nothing extra was asked for). My sisters nails; long story short. The lady didnt know english and she told her multiple times what she wanted and showed pictures but she still didnt give her what she wanted. She left very upset too read more

I was on the waiting list for my wax place so figured I would try this place instead of my usual place in hopes of finding somewhere closer. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. But I can paint my toes myself at home. Pedicures are about the experience. The foot soak, massage, exfoliation etc. It was underwhelming. She didn't exfoliate my feet. She said they were soft and didn't need it, the "massage" was basically her doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider up and down my leg and foot. Nothing felt relaxing. I was just annoyed and ready to go. Apple/Google Maps sucks when looking for this location. It's located in the Target shopping plaza but the maps kept having me do u-turns. First thing I hear when I enter, "How may I help you?" So far so good. I'm told it will be a 5 minute wait for the eyebrow waxing, so I break out a book and sit down. Every few seconds I look up and look around the brightly lite room. Only two other clients there and only 2 techs. 10 minutes later I'm taken to a back room. I'm laid down and the tech starts to apply wax after nodding in understanding when I say "clean up only, i hate thin eyebrows". She smells of cabbage and cigarettes. Can't tell if its her breathe or her hands. I'm breathing through my nose very slowly as she works. She slower then most but completely quiet. Makes me feel like she's giving her work complete attention. She moves away and brings back a mirror. I'm more then happy - I still have two eyebrows and they are beautifully arched. I think I'll stick with her. Next time I'll just offer her a mint. Either way I can stand cirgettes and caggabe to get good brows. read more

I guess if you are not a regular customer they don't put much effort into anything other than getting their fees. Should I even have tipped?? This was my second time here, I brought my sister-in-law with me so we can have a fun outing but this was not any fun! This place is worth checking out solely based on the fact that the woman doing eyebrows and waxing is on point. She knows how to accentuate the arch and shape the brow so that it frames the face correctly. I have officially ordained her as my local eyebrow waxer. She is so beautifully warm and genuinely sweet that she reminds me of my mother. I am sure that based on our brief interaction that they would get along great. She's also astonishingly 51, with barely a wrinkle on her face. So aside from her, the service was a bust. To be honest the first people I met upon entering the salon were not the most cheerful. The patchy sentences of "Sit down there. Wait," left me wishing for a "Hello how may we help you?" Instead, when my lady came out the girl called out "eyebrow" (as in hey you) to get my attention and motion it was my turn. It was a bit of a letdown. The decor is effortful from the bright combination of colors and hanging decorations, but the overall ambiance is lifeless, leaving much to be desired. I think this could all be alleviated by music or some fish tanks/indoor fountains. Color waves, light machines, ocean sounds....something. Still, I can well imagine customers interested in waxing getting really turned off by this and looking elsewhere for service. They would be missing out. This is the lady to go to. And she just turns around and leaves. So then I was just standing there for what felt like an hour, looking like I'm lost, for someone to help me. Then the guy closest to me working on another customers nails asked me what I would like and told me to sign in but still I had no clue how long the wait would be. I'm new to Jax and was looking for a quality nail salon. The 1st salon I went to (Pretty Pink Nails) told me they knew how to do SNS nails, but then didn't do them the way my nail tech of 15 yrs at home did them. As in, she painted GLUE on my nails and then dipped them in the powder! I know there's more than one way to do things, so I wasn't 100% sure about it while there and decided to see how they held up in comparison to what I've gotten back home. Within 2 days they started breaking and coming apart ... I was so disappointed. That brings me to finding Nails So Happy today. Now skeptical, I asked if they knew how to do SNS nails and expressed that another salon had really messed up. A gentleman directed me to Kevin's chair and he is now officially my go-to guy in Jax ... I literally couldn't be happier! Not only did Kevin apply SNS correctly, he took his time, and his attention to detail rivals my own perfectionist/OCD tendencies, lol! Don't tell my girl back home, but he did better than she does! The atmosphere was pleasant, plus there were several "regulars" in and out while I was there and it was obvious how much the customers love their techs and the work they do! I wish I can give this a zero star. I went in for typical square nails and what I ended up with was NOT it. The man who did my nails didn't speak a lick of English so I wasn't able to correct him as well as I wanted to . ALL except two nails have big noticeable dips on the center tips . I tried to correct him he only fixed one nail and then carried on with work . I currently have to go to a ANOTHER nail salon to try and fix the work that he did. I did however leave him a cash tip because he did finish the job. I just wish he spoke English so I could have corrected him on what he needs to improve on and what I as a paying customer wanted . Been coming here for years. Made an appt for me and my daughter and we got seated soon as we came but for some reason my daughter sat for a good 35 minutes without anyone attending to her. While customers who kept coming in and getting seated on the pedi chair are being attended to. Totally unsatisfactory. Meanwhile my pedi is getting done and she's just waiting. I got an appt so we can have a mother daughter moment and was terribly disappointed. And when she got done with her mani, we noticed sloppiness on the manicure. I had to ask if they can fix her manicure coz it wasn't neatly done. Excess nail polish all over her nails and not cleaned up properly. Really!!? After being frustrated with progressively worsening nails after regularly going to a different establishment in town, I decided to give this place a try. I will not be going anywhere else from now on. I was a walk in seeking both a pedi and gel manicure and was immediately serviced. The chairs are new and very comfortable, so I enjoyed a nice back massage during my pedicure. The place is very spacious and just peaceful. There is a station where little girls can get their nails done as well. I then had a gel manicure done, and the technician I had was very attentive to my needs and desire to improve my current thinning nails, due to past nail jobs that were very poorly done. He gave me advice for how to treat my nails to improve their texture and thickness, and gave me advice on what future treatments I should consider to have long lasting healthy nails. Nice nail place. Clean and huge inside. They had a ton of pedi chairs and lots of nail stations set up. They even had a little section of small chairs for little girl pedis. So sweet!! I went in about 945 on a Thursday, and there were a lot of technicians there waiting, which was great. I was a walk in and didn't have to wait at all. The pedi chairs were ok-a little dated but still worked fine. They covered the foot bowls with disposable plastic cover, for sanitation, which I didn't really care for, but it's nice they care about that. The girl who did my pedi was great! She was really efficient and let me be, which was great as this was my break from kids. She focused her massage on my feet, not legs, which I really appreciate. And it was cheap!! $21 for a pedi is a great price, I think. I will def be back. read more

I was a walk-in on a dreary Thursday afternoon, there were 3 employees in the salon, there were no customers in the store. I asked for a manicure, no polish, buff and shine. After being directed to sit in a particular chair, the manicurist appeared. I asked twice when the manicurist was going to shine my nails, the buffing was good. The manicurist did not speak English and I don't know if she understood my request. I gave up. Not recommended. read more
