I am so surprised seeing all the bad reviews for this Ulta location. I ALWAYS, always, get very good service here. It's my favorite location. Everyone is nice, from the store managers to the associates working at the registers. I buy most of my items online but if I don't like them when I receive them, I have always been able to either return and exchange them with my receipts. They are always so nice about it. I tried to return something that I realized I wasn't going to use, fully wrapped, unopened, and in its original packaging. I got a weird look from the girl at the register and she said she was going to grab her manager and asked if I had the sample bag that came free with the online purchase. The manager then told me that I couldn't do any returns unless I brought back the samples that had come my order. I said this was weird and I've never been asked to return free samples before, is that a new company policy for every Ulta store? She looked at me dead set and said yes. Well I went to my next closest Ulta and they accepted my return happily. So it's fine if that's just for your location and your managers choice, but there's no need to not be truthful. I'm giving this store a solid 5 because Sarah, the hairdresser in back was so helpful. I came in with an iron I purchased to straighten hair and ask if she could show me how to curl it. She was so kind and patient and made it super simple. Also, their keratin treatment pricing is great. Going to give it a shot next time. I agree with some of the employees being rude for no reason. I mean it's your job so why do you sound bothered because I am asking for assistance? I don't remember her name or I would have definitely mentioned it but when I first approached her she was all serious but then had a change in attitude and was nicer after. I love that Ulta offers the Salon for hair! I've been to other Ulta locations before the Salon, but I have never been as impressed as I have with Meghan. She knows how to perfect my hair color, cut, and even style! She takes her time to reach the perfect shade/tone and is very in-tune with her clients! I originally came with a bunch of ideas of what I wanted to do, and she talked me through each of them and skillfully explained the best option for what I was hoping for. She perfected my hair for the Christmas holiday season and most recently for my upcoming birthday. It is true what they say, if you look good, you feel good. This was my first time at this Ulta location and unfortunately, my last. I was browsing around for some Christmas presents and noticed that they put up an endcap from the brand that I work for. It looked amazing in-store so I wanted to take a picture to show my co-workers. An employee comes up behind me and very loudly scolds me that photos are not allowed inside the store and demanded me to delete the photo I took. I deleted the photo and wanted to apologize + explain why I was taking it, but they walked away very quickly right after. I completely understand and respect store policy, but their approach and tone made me feel very unwelcome and embarrassed to keep shopping there. read more

She was extremely knowledgeable, listened to exactly what I was looking for, and walked me straight to the right section without hesitation. She helped me find the cologne quickly, explained my options clearly, and made the entire experience smooth and stress free. Completely Unacceptable - Involving Corporate and Considering Legal Action 04/23/25 6:20pm: I visited this Ulta to pick up a prepaid curbside order. Upon arrival, curbside was unavailable, so I went inside. I presented both my order confirmation and valid ID. Despite this, the employee at the pickup counter (name starts with "K," no name tag) refused to release my order, claiming I had an "attitude." She then hid my order under the desk and refused to provide it. When I calmly stated I wasn't leaving without the item I paid for, she instructed her colleague (also no name tag) to call 911 on me. I did nothing aggressive or unlawful. I waited in my vehicle as law enforcement arrived--an extreme, unwarranted escalation. I immediately contacted corporate. David from Ulta's corporate office reviewed camera footage and confirmed that I provided all required documentation. He told the store to release the order, but they refused and claimed they canceled it. Their behavior was retaliatory, unprofessional, and potentially discriminatory. I've submitted photos of both employees so others can recognize them. Ulta corporate is now investigating, and I'm considering formal legal action. I urge management to take immediate disciplinary action and reevaluate the type of individuals representing their brand. For context: I am a licensed healthcare professional and business owner. I just left my local Ulta beauty feeling super uneasy about the service they provided an elderly woman. The cashier signed her up for a credit card when this woman clearly did not wanted to get one. I'm sure there is some sort of compensation based on credit cards booked but this was a total display of dishonesty. The cashiers failed to explain to the customer what she was signing up for, failed to let her know her credit was being ran and once the woman was not approved the cashiers entire attitude change. Really weird experience here. I first want to say lily who works here truly goes above and beyond for her customer and if my experience was off her alone I'd give 5 stars. Unfortunately, I had odd experience with I think LP thinking I was stealing or something lol because I was sitting on the couch holding my product I'm 9 months with a disability and pregnant and can't stand for long so I was sitting for a second while my 2 and 3 years old are walking around with my husband the lady was looking and like breaking her neck to see what I had and it felt so uncomfortable. The thing I have noticed about all Ulta stores, I think they employees must work there for a discount. The customer service is lacking in every single store, and the employees any time I have ever been, to any location, are chatting amongst themselves. I have walked the entire store multiple times looking for someone to ask a question to. If I do find someone, its a quick answer and they wander away back to their conversations. The gal that helped me here, was on the phone my entire transaction. Luckily I only needed a few basic items, and I was able to navigate my way around and find them, myself. ​I hope everyone reads this before shopping here. I had a terrible experience with this store. For my birthday two months ago, a friend bought me a Clinique set. Due to some circumstances, I had to be out of the country for two months right after my birthday. Since I have sensitive skin and can only use specific products, I decided to return the "Clinique Ultra" set (which was unopened) with the gift receipt to get store credit. ​When I arrived, the salesperson asked if I had used it. I told them it was completely unopened. They checked it, confirmed it was sealed, and called the manager. Even though the manager acknowledged the item was brand new and unopened, they told me that because it had been more than 60 days and the item was currently on sale, they would only give me store credit for the discounted sale price! ​It is unbelievable that they expect you to accept a refund for less than what was actually paid for the product. This felt like a total scam. Please, do yourselves a favor and buy your cosmetics elsewhere! read more

So me, my girlfriend, her sister, and her sister's boyfriend went to Ulta just to get the free birthday gift they offer. As soon as we walked in, one of the employees started following us around the store. She kept asking if we needed bags--like five or six times--even though we clearly didn't. Toward the end, she accused one of us of possibly slipping something into a pocket. As we left, she actually took a picture of us walking out, and right after that, a police car pulled up and stopped us. They asked what we were doing and ended up only searching me. Another cop came and checked my girlfriend and her sister's bags. One of the officers went inside to review the footage, and after a while, they said there wasn't enough evidence to accuse us of anything. Still, they told us we're banned from that Ulta and if we come back, we'll be charged with trespassing. The cops were decent about it, but the way the employees acted felt like straight-up profiling. read more

It made me an my sister feel embarrassed because there was people walking around a looking at us..the officer then said we could go but told us that we where trespassed and couldn't come back! This was so unnecessary they seemed like they where racial profiling us because every other person was white, we where the only Hispanic people there, there where like a couple girls screaming and messing with the product but no one ever said anything to them but to us they called the cops and accused of us of stealing! The staff followed me around the aisles the entire time I was browsing, repeatedly asking if I was "still" doing okay (must have been 5 or 6 times within 15 minutes, with the comments turning from mildly friendly to downright rude). The store is great, the hair salon not so great. I know it depends which stylist you get for a good haircut, but my hair was ruined at ulta hair salon in Laguna Niguel location. I said to my shoulders and it was cut to my neclkline. Not only that there were weird chopped up layers at the bottom back that had nothing to do with the photo i showed for the cut. She kept saying i looked young for my age of 50 amd them cut my hair badly and way too short. Iost my beautiful hair. I certainly wouldn't ask for it to be fixed because then it might even become shorter. I honestly felt like she did this so that my hair would look more like what ahe thinks a 50 yr old supposed to look like. It was so wrong. It will take 6 months or so for it to grow back to be able to go to someone that knows how to cut hair to fix it. Sad. read more
