Today was my last visit to Ulta. I left completely irritated, as always, in the relentless pressure to open a rewards account and provide a phone number during checkout. NO means NO. I said it 4 separate times and the sales person still continued to try and persuade me to give a phone number, sign up, provide a friends rewards number, etc...all while holding me hostage on the transaction. Literally happens every fricking time I make a purchase at Ulta and this store in particular! STOP doing that to your customers, it is not acceptable. I shouldn't have to decline the request more than once, more less 4+ times...your policy in this customer service harrassment needs to stop. My wife purchased a bottle of Seche vite nail polish and it had been USED! Apparently, Ulta's policy about NEVER selling return items is selective depending on which store you frequent! I visited this location the other evening. I was in the makeup area for some time just browsing and trying to find a good facial primer to help keep my foundation on longer. A woman came over to me and asked if I needed any help. One would think she knows what she is talking about considering she works in the makeup department. I mean would Ulta hire somebody that that doesn't know much about makeup and then have them work in that same department helping customers with their questions and needs of makeup?? Well she recommended and talked all about this product, Milk Drops by Beekman 1802. This product has NOTHING to do with being a primer for your face. These employees don't even make any commission on these products. I know this because I always ask the cashier if they want to know who on the floor helped me out. Believe it or not they always say "no". I was wrong myself in thinking someone who works at this kind of store in the makeup area really would know what they were doing . But I was wrong and I'll just stick to figuring it all out by myself because she wasted my time. And I purchased something I didn't need at the time. That's fine, I let the girl know I need help finding something else. She asks what I'm looking for then sits me in a chair to wait while she gets something she thinks will be "perfect " for me. I hate this place. I wouldn't have come if it weren't for something for my mother. I typically avoid it like the plague. I know it's Saturday and things tend to be busy, but it was incredibly ridiculous. I walked in for one thing only. I immediately found the spot, but couldn't find the item, which is not unusual. The key is finding someone to help. When you walk in you have two categories of staff; 1) hard working and with a customer, 2) not working, shopping, and laughing obnoxiously loud (I added the laughing because that was actually a thing today). Finally someone sensed my seething irritation upon watching one little girl in all black, take pictures and, you guessed, laughing obnoxiously. I finally got what I wanted, but I thought, since I'm here in this hell hole I may as well see if they have what I typically buy. Nope! Sure don't! So doesn't surprise me, as this is a typical Ulta shelf. I gave up immediately and went to the register, mostly because I couldn't stand the laughing. I was met with at least 20 customers waiting in line to two cashiers. Nice! No? I hate this place. If you are offered to open an Ulta credit card, I would not walk away but run. They offer you money off of your purchase. The truth is, they make it back somewhere . The young lady that signed me up, did not register the correct address. I did not receive a credit card for a few months therefore, there was not a statement. I have a very busy life and do not have time to go back to the store hunting down this information . Once Ulta reached out to me, I paid my balance in full. At this time I realized they registered the wrong address. Somehow, this is my fault and I had a $35 late fee. To my dismay, I get another statement in the mail. I paid my balance in full, so how do I get another statement in the mail with a late fee? When I called the proper telephone number, the woman assisting me, got very defensive, and somehow made it all my fault. The bottom line, I have paid Ulta an additional $50 due to their error . Unfortunately, I have not utilized the credit that was properly sent to my mail. I closed this account and will be cutting up my credit card today. It's too bad Ulta has lost a customer . read more

Please EVERYONE never let a single person from this salon touch your hair. First cut was 3 inches shorter and completely different than photo I showed, the next "fix up" were layers in the back of my head that looked like a child picked up some layering shears. Absolutely HORRIBLE salon. My daughter came here to have her hair done for senior pictures. Brought a picture of the curls she wanted. She left with her hair looking stick straight against her face. After paying and tipping, I asked to talk to the store manager. Tiffany was nice enough but her offer to me was to give my daughter a discount the next time she comes in for a service. Lovely employees that are *mostly* willing to help you track down what you're looking for. I say mostly because out of the 3 employees that spoke to me during my visit there was one that I asked to help with a concealer and when I wanted her opinion on a second choice aside from what she showed me it's almost like she shut down, didn't give me any more recommendations and walked away telling me she'd be around if I needed more help (that I had just asked for!) but the employees that stepped in to help me after her were lovely. The big downside from my trip is that I bought a palette for $50, closed box with a security wrap on it and everything. I get home and unseal the box and the whole lid to the pallet is shattered and chipping away... for $50?! In a box I'm not able to check the condition of before purchasing it should absolutely not be broken. Overall 2.5/5 (I gave 3 since I felt like for whole numbers it would be rounded up rather than down to a 2). I've been getting my hair cut here for a few years with no issues, but yesterday was the worst. Since I had a different person than last time, I made it clear that the top layer is curly and underneath is straight so it needed to be undercut. As Lisa cut my hair, she proceeded to bitch about former employees and have a bitch session with one of the managers for the majority of the time. Totally unprofessional. If I hadn't have had my mask on, they would have been able to see how annoyed I was. I came in for a haircut, not some f-d up drama. Once I got home and my hair was dry, I saw that she did not undercut my hair as I asked for up front. I called and they can't get me in for 5 days to fix it. This location is a total mess. I went into buy some makeup I needed and the place was a disaster. Crap everywhere. Literally. I couldn't find anything and after 10 minutes of trying to find the section that carried my favorite eyebrow pencil an employee finally approached me to ask me if I needed any help. The store needs help. The makeup was a mess. The whole store was messy. The employees were just standing around chatting instead of organizing all the clutter. The tester trays where makeup is looked like toddlers played in it. You can't find anything and when you do they are out of it or they haven't stocked the shelf. Not coming to this location again. Would rather go to the one in Arvada which is much cleaner and the staff is much nicer read more

To be honest I have been coming here for years and loved this store! But I had a really unfortunate experience because of the customer service. I had scheduled an appointment weeks in advance and then came into the salon (I called before hand to solidify that I was scheduled and they had said yes I still had an appointment) BUT when I got there they said online appointments no longer work. Even though I called and even asked if my hairstylist was there and they said yes minutes before I had gotten there. I was really disappointed at the fact that there was not an apology but rather just a oh well.. I will not be back and I do not recommend this place. I stopped in last Saturday because I still really needed some Bare Minerals product--I'd been wearing their products for many years, and really wanted something new and different, but based on my visit the week before I i didn't hope for much in the way of service. And then I saw Christopher standing right in front of me, giving me a warm and friendly smile asking if he could help me. Christopher was nothing short of amazing! He very quickly helped me find exactly the new product line I was hoping for--but didn't know existed until this visit. Mac Studio Fix Foundation. He very politely asked if it was okay if he touched my face (I'm in my 70's, so I really appreciated his kind and gentle manner). I invited him to apply whatever products he thought would appear natural and becoming to my skin and I had so much fun as he continued to apply a full makeup coverage (foundation, blush, lipstick, and eyebrow gel). I really appreciated his charm, skillful applications of all products, and important information about the Mac Studio product line. I left with a bag full of wonderful products that are exactly right for my skin, make me look years younger than I am, and feeling relaxed and refreshed. Oh, Ulta ... How I once loved you. But, I suppose if you shop at a place enough times, you will eventually have a bad experience. My poor experience happened on my last trip to Ulta (this one trip actually turned into multiple trips). I was in a rush, as the store was closing in about 30 minutes. But on my way to check out, I couldn't help but notice a new, shiny display with metallic lipsticks. The display must have been so new, that the testers weren't labeled as testers. So ... I accidentally grabbed a tester. When I went to check out, the cashier couldn't scan the tester (they must have special SKUs that don't ring up), so she offered to grab a different one for me. (My bad.) She scanned the new lipstick, but as I found out when I got home, she actually put the tester in my bag. Not only that, the cashier grabbed and scanned the wrong shade of lipstick - it didn't even match the tester. When I went back the next day to return the lipstick (because, you know, no one wants to spend $15 on a possibly used lipstick), I politely explained the story to the cashier, and again to the manager, thinking that they would just return the SKU that was on my receipt, the SKU of the lipstick that I didn't actually get to take home with me. They did eventually do just that, but not before 10 minutes of the manager staring at the receipt, staring at me, and staring at the lipstick and making comments like, "This makes NO sense", "How did you get this??", "You can't BUY testers", and again, "How did you get this??" They didn't have to outright say what they were thinking - I got it. But if they looked at my account, they would be able to see that I spend a lot of money at Ulta, and that I'm definitely not the person who would snatch a $15 used lipstick from the shelf. I've always liked Ulta because they generally always have a coupon or a deal going on, and I'm a sucker for a good discount. But after this encounter, I think I'm going to have to start going to Sephora instead. read more

I was nervous going in because tbh I've heard rough reviews of Ulta in general... my experience was the opposite of everything I've seen online!! From the moment I walked in, I felt put at ease by the women working. Bridget, esp. was incredibly helpful and friendly, and helped me find vegan options, due to a beeswax allergy. Instead of automatically recommending the highest priced items, she showed me multiple affordable options that she had tried herself and liked. I came here with my best friend to find some eyebrow shaping kits and wanted to try out a new eyebrow powder at the makeup department. 6 girls were chit chatting at the corners of the makeup floor, and my friend had to call out various times for help. Finally after a half-ass attempt to tell us about which color would be perfect for our faces (Without trying out anything), we get a girl who was pretty nice, but she pointed out to me at first, "I only have 10 minutes." I'm not sure if she was having an off day but I have never been abandoned by a worker in a lose like that unless they are grabbing keys. Then for her to come back and blatantly lie to my face, when she simply could have told me she wasn't sure if other locations has the product or not. I didn't even ask her if other locations had the product because I knew they did already, she lied to me for no reason and it baffles me how unprofessional that associate was. Before I visited the store I was confused how this store could get such low ratings. I mean, it's a beauty supply HEAVEN for goodness sakes! I really needed eye liner and I couldn't find the kind I usually use anywhere! I mean, I've been to Sally's, Nordstrom, Mac, and several more. So my best friend suggested I find an Ulta. I went out of my way to find this store. First impressions were very positive...I walked in to a store that immediately got me PUMPED! Beauty supply store on steroids! Awesome! Where the tides changed was the moment I started talking to the employees. Wow...I don't remember the last time I was treated like a 2nd rate citizen. I asked a gentleman where I can find some liquid eyeliner. He dropped what he was doing and showed me a few which was nice of him. I told him more specifically what I wanted which was a liquid eyeliner with an ink well and a thick brush. He immediately changed his tone and told me I wouldn't find it on "this side of the store." I asked what the difference was between the two sides and he quickly replied that "this side was designer name and the other side is generic....makeup you can find at a grocery store or drug store." With that being said, he didn't even walk me over there...he just stopped talking to me. I was really confused as this was all In the same store. Basically he told me I needed to go to the cheap side of the store and I was no longer worth his time.
