I've been a Ulta club member since 2003. Having been to several locations in AZ and other states. Platinum perks are cool and I enjoy the free products and discounts on supplies. My cons for this location are that they usually only have one of each product I want to buy so I can never stock up and that they do not carry Lancôme base or eyebrow pencils and as my previous review complained some of their products are very close to the floor. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR COLORED OR DONE HERE!!!! My Mother wanted a lavender purple hair to honor her passed son (his cancer ribbon was a lavender) My mother even showed her a picture of her hair the color she wanted it, this supposed "elite" stylist she paid an extra $100 for GAVE HER MAROON (it was so red nothing close to what she asked for) hair they told her to wait for her hair color to show up l, and it faded in one wash and her hair turned gray and streaky and an absolute mess of color (mother had brown hair before no gray hairs) THEY TONED HER HAIR WITH GRAY WHEN SHE LITERALLY WANTED PURPLE HAIR, then we went down to ulta and apparently they have a cutoff time for free touch ups (this cannot be fixed with a touch up it is literally a nightmare) which is 10 days that they didn't even make us aware of AT ALL WE spent 300$ for salon quality and "elite" hair when people think my mother colored her hair at home when she paid 300$ for a garbage product. So the employees took pictures of my mother hair and said the stylist will call her tomorrow, SHOCKER SHE DIDN'T because apparently no one cares about about there customers so we had to call her, And the entire time my mother was manipulated and gaslight by this "Professional" hair stylist, this women must be blind my moms hair is not what she asked for splotchy and frankely horrible, not to mention this same women sold my mother a maroon hair shampoo when she wanted PURPLE, the overall customer service was terrible This "elite" stylist has no clue what she is doing, and is a complete rip-off DO NOT TRUST THEM We have been so nice throughout this process with the terrible treament (the stylist complained the entire time doing my mother's hair) and ulta is making no attempt at helping us they took over 300$ and now we arent even human in their eyes, hairstylist if you don't have the ability to do something don't lie and ruin someones hair, say you can't do it and move on, my mom has been put through so much emotional grief over this, our hair we took years to grow and nurture being ruined by an "elite" hairstylist who's ego is bigger than her actual skill set. We deserve a refund but we know we aren't going to get one bc of the type of company ulta is, but are we gonna waste even more money fixing what ulta messes up, honestly my mother couldn't trust another hairstylist again due to ulta employees lying about their skill set. They will not listen to you, help you, or take accountability. Even after I showed them my conformations nothing was done to research why the order was never received. No apology about the mishap and they were not helpful. This place SUCKS. They claim to be experts if they are certified within Ulta and have a high level rating , which allows them to charge much more than other regular stylists. So, you pay more and they still mess it up! I got my roots touched up by the highest level stylist they have. She left in way too long ( while she filed her nails ) and it came out BLACK !. My hair is light blonde to medium blonde. Even she and her manager claimed it was way too dark. I spent another hour there while she unsuccessfully tried to fix it. She said I could return in a day or two, but there was nothing she could do. She claimed it was my fault that I must be taking hormones or some other medication that would have caused it. Stay away. Went in to get my hair done, informed staff that I would like someone with experience which is what I was told to ask for when I originally inquired about what I wanted to do with my hair. I got Kelly, she did nothing that I asked even when I informed her she was using colors that I hadn't asked for. She argued with everything. She didn't rinse the dye out and sent me home without washing it out. After washing my hair when I got home there was no sign of anything that I had asked for. If they hadn't made me pay when my hair wasn't even half way done I would have argued then. Once I looked at my hair I called emailed pictures and asked for a refund. When I went in for my refund the either district manager or salon manager I dealt with was extremely rude and talked down to me. I told her I realize things won't come out exactly the way we want and I am not one to complain and she turned around and said and yet here you are. I will not be going back to this place. read more

I was just in this Ulta store a few hours ago. In my opinon, the sales associates were not helpful, but one in particular was very pushy and did not listen to my answers when she asked me questions. I was as polite as possible but she was persistant to make a sale. Needless to say I just walked out. I went in to purchase a number of things but the lack of knowledge and lack of training from those associates turned me away. There are too many other sources to purchase cosmetics from. This is one of the worse ultas I've been to. I felt so uncomfortable and invaded. Whenever I go to a makeup store I go without makeup so I can try some on. I feel the employees discriminated me because of that and treated me like I didn't know what I was doing. I was followed around as if I was a little kid and they would not leave me alone. I usually only go in to stores to try stuff out then buy it online (bc online has been coupons) so I didn't buy anything. As I was walking out three workers literally cornered me in front of the exit Rudely asking questions like, "so you couldn't find what you wanted huh" "you're leaving", etc. maybe they though I was stealing? I was a customer in Ulta today and witnessed the manager (Amanda) and an employee that in my opinion was one of the best associate. She was Great in the inventory, makeup, let's just say all aspects in this field just leave the store in tears because the manager(Amanda) said she didn't put her back on the schedule. In my opinion again, this manager (Amanda) just lost not only me as a customer but All my friends and anyone else I can reach on social media. This employee was the only associate in the store one day that didn't walk away and say (I can't help you).. She did help me and with a smile. This employees name is Leanna. If zero stars were an option, I would select that. First, the new pricing policy and salon employee behaviors are not in sync. While paying in half hour increments, I do not expect to see my stylist set down the bleach applicator to constantly pick up her phone to text, fill out her mortgage application (heard all about this). Then to take a smoke break lasting more than 15 minutes (I had a time limited call during this 15 min break that I started after and finished before that was 15 min long). She scheduled appointments, actually cut another person's hair during, after rinsing out shouted to her team that she was starting some laundry, took a lunch break that was greater than 30 min. Through the whole apt talked down at my daughter and her girlfriend (both already feeling bad enough). Then when I asked about being charged for the more than hour of wasted time in addition to the rightly charged time, she talked to her coworker in front of me about how rediculous I was for asking about such. The most unprofessional service I have ever experienced. If you want five star service, stick with Ashton at the Superstition Springs Mall location. I wish she would have been available... read more

I went in to return a couple products which I consider a super easy task for the employees considering I've been in retail myself. Immediately, Rachel the sales employee starts giving me a rude attitude. I didn't remember the phone number that I used so this made Rachel super mad and actually refused to do the return for me! The store has very poor customer service. I went in there yesterday, nobody greeted me and another woman when they unlocked the doors and we were the first two people in. When I attempted to return a Christmas present with no receipt, they were even more rude like I was putting them out. They insisted I cannot return the sealed item and I had to insist back that I could return it with a receipt or not. When a manager walked her over, she finally agreed I could return the item. She did not greet me at the counter either. She also looked at me as if I were putting her out by doing a return. When I left, I said have a nice day and happy new year to both women, one was the manager. There was no response at all. Another woman that was with me also said to me as we walked out together that they have very bad customer service and she will no longer go to this location. I agree that I will go to another location. My sister has also had similar issues with the rudeness of the staff at this location. The young woman at the counter was extremely young and this was probably her first job. She could use customer service training. The manager however should know better. She snubbed me. After I wrote this review I am now editing it after seeing the other reviews below. Crystal appears to of had the same experience. They do not know the return policy and, they are very rude when you make a return. The other person that posted a review below about going therewith no make up on, maybe that was the issue they had with me. I went in with no make up either yesterday. I rarely come to this particular Ulta. But I was in a pinch. I literally just came in the store to buy an eyebrow pencil. The girls on the floor both asked me repeatedly if I needed help. Like both in hearing distance to tell them I didn't need any help. Mind you I'm on the phone telling them I constantly do not need help. After I refuse help or a bag for the 5th time (I counted) they proceeded to follow me through the entire store. Going into the same aisle I was going in "fixing things" or at the end caps. I felt like they were stalking me like I was going to steal something. It was so uncomfortable. I got to the register area and was looking at the minis in the front and they two sales girls follow me up to the register again just starring at me and then the cashier asks me if I'm ready. I was fully going through the items very obviously not ready. One of the sales girls was constantly standing behind the cashier like again I was a criminal because I kept denying a bag or help. It was the most uncomfortable situation I ever felt. I'm not sure if they were expecting a secret shopper or waiting to get reviewed but here's a tip from a consumer who goes in ulta often: please don't harass the shoppers. I went to this Ulta Salon on April 12th to get my hair cut and donate to Locks of Love. When the hairstylist went to cut the ponytail she cut it to short and instead of admitting her mistake she kept trying to fix it. Now I have a haircut that instead of being shoulder length is just below my ears, shows where the ponytail was cut in the back, has a long texture cut on one side (what I asked for) and a short texture on the other (what I specifically asked her not to do). It is very obviously two different haircuts. The side she almost did right was still done wrong because the bottom layer is longer than the top and it should be just the opposite. When I spoke with her manager she agreed that my hair was messed up and that she couldn't fix it for about a month and a half without cutting it even shorter. I recently went into the salon to get my hair done, this was the first time I've been at this location for hair services and this will be my last. I needed to get color and to get some color removed. First off the workers there seem very rude and not too nice, my appointment was at 4:00 I showed up a few minutes early like you should and she was still working on her last client, I sat waiting for almost 20 mins till she finally sat me for my consultation, and we talked and she told me a price. Half way through the service I'm then told "oh there's a length charge for how long your hair is" and they then quoted me all most $25 dollars more then the original price I was told, which is wrong and rude! That's what the consultation is for, if I knew my hair was going to cost me more I would of said forget it! You don't tell a client the price is more almost half way through the service. It was like pulling teeth trying to get a final price from anyone. I understand hair dressers like to take their time to make things look good but it literally took about 3 hours! Started at 4:20ish and finished at 7:20 plus another 20 mins for toner, I left with a wet head because I had to be somewhere not thinking it would take so long. I later had to re-wash my own hair on the count of she didn't completely remove the bleach. I like the way the color turned out but I was truly not happy about them changing my quoted price half way through the service, and the atmosphere of the workers just sucks in general! read more

So today I went in to this ulta location on my day off of school and work with my friend. We both have our Gucci wallets on us and willing to spend a pretty penny. Since it's our day off, we didn't get ready because we were planning to relax after our ulta trip. I usually come here with a full face of makeup I purchase from this store. But today it was a horrifying experience. Every aisle me and my friend went to, an employee would also go into that same aisle. At first we didn't think too much about it. It was until we went into another aisle and the same employee followed us there. Another employee joined her and they started looking at some makeup on the shelf and said out loud for us to hear: "it looks like someone stole something. We just got these today". We assume they were referencing us. My friend suggests we go into another aisle and see if they follow us. So we go into a random aisle further down and once again they follow us into the same aisle pretending to be organizing the shelf. We repeat this and go to another aisle and they follow us again. We both make a good living and would never have to result to stealing. Since we didn't wear makeup and are not Caucasian I can say we felt very discriminated against and unwelcome. I couldn't even pick out my foundation shade without them looking at me. They have now missed out on a sale and a long time customer. I was the only person in this store on a Friday night. There were THREE employees and not one of them, including the manager asked me if I needed help. I'm going to spend 160.00 on a flat iron and I have to ask people who CLEARLY see me and literally passed me FIFTEEN TIMES in 25 minutes for help? Nope! How about I order it online, for pick up at SEPHORA instead. All Ulta is anyway is a cross between a drugstore and Sephora, but with sky high prices on the lower end brands and a small selection on the high. No MUF, and Ulta brand makeup is garbage. Check out the reviews on MaleupAlley.com. I will gladly take my business to Sephora, their sales are so much better, I get cute little free gifts for my birthday and their app let's me order and pick up within an hour. I walk in, pay and go. Ulta's coupons aren't even worth the paper they're printed on. I can order NYX on MAKEUPGEEK.COM way cheaper, and go next door to WALMART to get drugstore brands for less than what the stupid coupon saves me! Not to mention, I can save like 10-20 bucks a bottle on perfume at the PERFUMANIA site PLUS 10% off for signing up! Am I pushing you to other sites? Yes, why pay more to be ignored? read more
