A couple of months ago, my daughter and I stopped by here to stock up on a few makeup products and a hair iron. The selections were very good and organized in a sensible way. It was nice to see how clean and tidy it was. We were looking for new shades of blush and daytime eyeshadow. They have several brands to choose from. They also have a wide variety of hair irons. The ladies in here are always super sweet, and I always appreciate their help. I talked to The cashier lady, staff on the floor, and have also had beauty treatments here. They listen to all my needs and are always super patient with me. One of the better locations of this chain. At least those were my thoughts upon arrival. Everything was clean, staff was friendly, and they are definitely taking COVID-19 measures to heart. I felt ridiculously safe there compared to another of this chain I had gone to weeks ago and found to be a mess. I also thought felt their inventory was vast. I was surprised at the amount of products I saw, especially seeing as I had stopped there after visiting another ULTA that looked like a tornado hit it. Suffice to say... I will be back. read more

I booked a salon service for a styling and 3 minutes before my appointment they call me to tell me that they "don't know how I was able to book the appointment as that stylist is not present and they are fully booked" I asked if there was any way they could accommodate me as I drove all the way there already during Miami spring break traffic to a rude receptionist whose only response was "idk what you want me to do" she did not even apologize, she also stated that she had "blocked the stylist from booked" Which clearly she did not. Completely unprofessional, and a total lack of compassion I have never been so upset or mistreated as a customer. This particular location opened around 6 months ago or less and is a great edition to the North Miami area; previously, I'd need to trek up to Aventura just next to Best Buy and really...who wants to drive all the way up there... Their prices are great and the customer service here is by far the absolute best. The manager (male) who's name escapes me is a wonderful helpful person that really enjoys his job and it shows. Bravo to the entire staff for really working so hard and doing such a perfect job all the time. They also do eyebrows if you need and even hair treatments too, but call in advanced to make an appointment. The ABSOLUTE best part of Ulta is that every time you shop here, you earn points that translate to dollars back so it's cheaper in the long run. I am a diamond member. I visited this ulta with my son. We are Latinos and although there were other white ladies in the store the guard kept following US around. Felt like we were the only ones in the store for her to follow around until I looked around and saw other ladies in the store that appeared to be Caucasian. This is not the first time this happens to me here. I am starting to think the guards are instructed to target us minorities. You will no longer get my business not if you paid me to visit!!! Look at your cameras on 3/1/21 around 4:00-4:15. We were there leas than 15 minutes and saw the blond guard more than five times. I actually saw the guard more than I saw ulta sales associates. Ok so I am out shopping and this guy ahead of me has a great haircut. So I ask him who did it and he is the hairdresser. So he gave me his card and told me he is at Ulta. I have heard of them but never been in one. So today I was looking particularly dreadful and I gave Adam a call. Luckily he could fit me in. I grabbed my son as he needed some beautification as well. So I head South on Biscayne it is in a Publix shopping center just North of my Costco. Once inside I see the beauty section in the back set up directly in the middle of the store. I sit down in the chair and discuss what I wanted. Just a trim and some layers. Adam shampooed my long locks and I splurged on a deep conditioning treatment as I figured I needed all the assistance I could get. Well I came out looking fab I guess I finally found a new hairdresser since I am way over due. First visit new client 20% off so total was $40. plus tip. My son went after and he also had great results. Upon check out in the front of the store I noticed all the beauty products. It is amazing they have Burt Bees to Clinique which I only thought was in department stores. I will definitely be back soon for highlights as well as all my beauty needs. So I waited to write this cause I wasn't to sure if maybe I was being extra or what not. But I went to this Ulta for the second time (usually go to Aventura location) to get some hair products for a trip I was going on. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was a security guard standing near the entrance (like they do at Ross)...pretty weird cause it's not what you expect to see when entering a beauty store but ok cool...So I'm browsing the hair section and I see the security guy walking pass me watching me..I ignore him....minutes later I see him again walking the store, he walks pass me watching me ...I'm like okay??? So i continue browsing and transition to the back section cause I couldn't really find what I was looking for. So I'm in the back by myself...Closest staff are two girls that work the salon. As I'm in the back looking at the products one of the workers who was in the front approach me asking if I needed help. I kindly declined. A few minutes later another staff member approached me...again I declined. I declined both girls because i could tell that they only came up to me to see what I was doing. At this point I'm feeling kinda weird like I'm being watched and not liking the vibe at all. As I'm walking away from the section I'm at....I see another employee watching me. I start getting very uncomfortable and end up just buying 2 products and leaving. I don't know if this is normal behavior having the guard walk around the store watching people and having staff watch customers like a hawk but I will stick to my aventura location where I can shop in peace and not have people watch me like I'm going to steal something. I could be paranoid but it really felt like they was watching me cause they thought I was stealing. No this isn't my first time at Ulta I been to the aventura Ulta a million times and yes i have had staff asked if I needed help but the vibe I got from this sp was completely different. If this location is concerned about theft maybe staff should be more spread out instead of all being up front gossiping with each other. Also if your going to have a guard why have the guard leave his post if what your trying to prevent is people from leaving your store with unpaid items. Crazy lady kept of scratching me , pulling my hair ruffly and after 30 min of not getting much done I simply asked her if she can blow dry my hair with it still being wet and that's when she totally flipped out saying she cant work this way because she is the professional one here and doesn't like to be told . I am reviewing the salon experience I had at Ulta. I went in hoping to get a quick trim and left with a look I never wanted and almost cried when I saw myself! Tesla was my stylist. We had a quick consultation and I told her I wanted a cut on my shoulders, a longer bob with an angle. She agreed that this would be a good option for myself.... I got washed and sat on the chair..... I felt like she was cutting a lot but when I saw myself in the mirror, I had a shorter then CHIN length blunt bob! I was mortified! I literally had tears in my eyes and told her I looked like a school girl! The cut was done and it looked terrible! I had to tell her, I have a lot of hair, you already cut it, you need to give it some dimension at least! She assured me, tomorrow when it flattens out, it would be longer! I left feeling like my "look" was a complete fail. I was/am still appalled! I literally am taking extra vitamins, praying for my hair to grow back. I wrote an email to the company, actually two because I never heard back and finally got a phone call from the manager, Erin. She was very nice and offered to "fix" it! How do you fix all the hair that was cut? Not to mention, Erin doesn't exactly have a good reputation on Yelp either! When I declined, she offered me a "goodie bag!" I mean, seriously?!? Last night walked in 730 pm I wanted to buy setting powder for my face so I was turned between to different brands however I wanted the best brand for my. Complexion I am darker skin so when I ask the clerk for help she said she will be right there I said ok. She came over u ask about a lip gloss item first and she was oh it's just like any lip gloss and at first I was a little confused because the way answered I ignored however I still preceded to asked for setting powder so she started to pick up lighter skin setting powder and I was can me something more fitting to my darker skin tone she said rudely all translucent powder is the same I said well then just taken back by her response I asked her does. Do makeup she said yes and she walked towards morphie products trying to show more but I was through with her rude response as if I was bothering her and to be honest she has no product knowledge of the products she was showing and her customer service was terrible however I had to get another employee to come. I was the only one in line with several products and turned around to pick up another product advertised at the Checkout counter. As I grabbed an additional item at checkout, someone walked up behind me. I went back to the place in line where I had laid down my items when I grabbed a lip plumper displayed at checkout. I was then accused of line cutting. This was so offensive I left the store and will never shop there again. I bought the products for less on Amazon! So, what can I say about Ulta? For one it is very welcoming. The staff from all the departments were friendly and ready to help get my needs met. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with lots of smiles. I take my younger daughter here every two weeks to have her hair treated, trimmed and styled by Gia-Alexis. She is our go to girl! Gia-Alexis is amazing with color and will take your hair to a whole other level with her expertise in treating all types of hair. Gia-Alexis as well as the other stylist are amazing, friendly and they make a great team. This Ulta is fairly new (a few months old) and has lots of room to take this establishment to higher levels. They seem to be about teamwork and making the customer happy at any level. I, as well as my younger daughter will continue to go to Ulta Salon for all our hair needs. Now, that's a word on the Salon . So let's move to the store. It's a Triple C effect! Clean,Cool, and Calming. Again my younger daughter had a little reaction on her face so Gia-Alexis walked us over to the Clinique area. She then introduced us to Tara. While I got my hair done Tara had a friendly consultation with my younger daughter about her face needs. She told my daughter what she was doing wrong when cleansing her face. She also taught her step by step on what she should use to clear up her forehead. My daughter then went back to the salon where I was getting my hair done and filled me in. She was excited and happy to know what caused her reaction. Once Gia-Alexis finished me up, she set up our two week appointment. I then walked over to Tara, the Clinique Rep/Manager with Gia-Alexis and my younger daughter to see what we needed. We were instructed by Tara on the proper technique to cleanse the face. We then picked a few things she recommended, made our purchases, thanked everyone before going about our day. Over all I have been shopping and going to this Ulta since it opened. I rated Ulta a "5 Stars" Salon and store. Anyone wanting a quick wash, blow dry and iron....Ask for Gia-Alexis! she will have you out and about while feeling beautiful. Anyone wanting beautiful highlights or color... Ask for Gia-Alexis! she is amazing with all the new colors out. Anyone wanting a date night look with sexy curls draping your face.... Again!! I was accused of "messing up the products" while the only thing I did was clean it up which is her job. I was profiled and offended. In the 10 minute span I was inside of the store I was given attitude twice. I can tell you whole heartedly I will never return to that store. I have have truly never been treated that bad by an employe. After she spotted us just walking by she followed us to "confront us" when she accused us of "messing up the products" saying " can you guys not mess up the products" with the lid of something I hadn't even touched in her hand all I could do was stare at her. I have never walked out of a store faster in my life. I am not one to write reviews especially if they're negative but I was flabbergasted by the way I was treated. Im glad that they opened one up super close to my job. I decided to go right before my secret Santa party at my office. Since I work mostly with women, I decided to buy a couple of travel sized items for said ladies. While there, I notice a lady with foil in her hair. I was shocked at the idea that a make up store also did hair. Surprisingly, this Ulta store does hair, make up, nails, and a lot of other beauty related things. Before walking into the store and learning about all of this, I had been wanting to do something different to my hair. So in my amazement, I happen to walk into the manager of the salon, Erin. I explained to her what I wanted to do to my hair and she assured me that I would be in good hands. So I make an appointment for Erin to do my hair. I explained to her that I just wanted blue highlights in my hair. Again she assured me that I was in good hands. So she does a partial highlight on my hair. She washes it out and adds a treatment on my hair. She blow dries my hair and proceeds to put blue dye ALL. OVER. MY. HAIR. Which in turn is not what I asked for. This made my whole head blue. Since she did a partial highlight, the bottom of my hair was still the light brown that I already had. Since I already had light brown hair, the blue made the bottom look green. So I go back and tell her it looks horrible on the back, I asked her to might as well just dye my whole head blue. I now have dark blue hair on the top and the bottom is a light green color. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to this location for any salon treatments. I will only be going there for my make up essentials. If the hair salon isn't professional, I really don't wanna know about their other services. read more

I was in there trying to find a good shade match for the Clinique foundation but wasn't having any luck doing it by myself so I decided to ask an employee. I don't know her name but the goth employee was extremely rude. All I said was "Excuse me can you help shade match me for this Clinique foundation?" She walked past me, stomped her foot, turned to me, sighed, and said "fine." I explained to her that I wanted to use the Clinique foundation but I just needed a darker shade. She then told me to sit in the chair and just walked away. She came back a minute later with MORPHE foundation when I told her I wanted clinique. She brushed on two VERY dark shades of foundation on my face, said "this ones fine", grabbed me the box, and walked away. The colors she chose were nowhere near close to a shade match. I ended up buying two shades I thought would work (of the clinique foundation), intending to return one if it didn't match. Even the checkout employee had a bad attitude when I asked about the return policy. I'll be buying makeup at a different Ulta. Thanks for nothing!!! read more

I normally wouldn't do a review on a big store like this but I have to say their staff is unmatched when it comes to customer service. I work close to a Sephora and was excited to spend my day off doing a little special shopping at Ulta. Each one of the staff members at this location were so knowledgeable and friendly. The girl working for Mac (I forget her name) was so helpful and tried several different products on me until I figured out what worked. As someone who manages a group of sales professionals, I could not be more impressed by the group of people working at this location! I will definitely be back. read more

It was about to close, but I am glad to say that there was a very nice hair stylist name Adam Libonati that offered me to make an appointment since I told him that I needed a haircut. The next day I went there, and I have to say that I was very pleased with my new haircut, he understood exactly what I wanted. He is very knowledgeable and does his job with passion. Trusting his expertise a week after I brought my little ones for their haircuts, and they absolutely love it! As a mother I liked the fact that he was very kind to them. Just don't waste your time-- I walked into the store. I knew I wanted to get a flat iron-- specifically the Babyliss Pro Prima3000. The security guard kept on following my sister and I and kept reminding us of time. Once I found what I needed within 2 minutes-- he said, "it's 9pm" --- ummm hello I know, I'm about to walk and I put the flat iron right at its place because i don't want my money going to an establishment that's like that. Do not get your hair balayage there or get the straightener done . My hair is damaged , I had to go somewhere else for a color correction and the stylist said " what did they put in your hair ?" My hair has not recovered from it and I will end up cutting it . I am so disappointed in the salon from always getting haircuts there . It was my birthday and I ended up with fried orangey red color looking hair that was supposed to have a chocolate brown bayalage. Especially if you have curly hair don't go there , they don't know how to care or color this type of hair . Oh and I asked to cover my grays . They were not covered when I went home I noticed she brushed it in a way so I didn't notice they were not covered . Of course the stylist thinks they do great job when they mostly work with straight hair and fine hair. It was expensive , I don't mind paying when the work is exceptional but I wasted my money here .
