I would give five stars only if the cashier issue was better. The only reason I gave one extra star is because of the lovely woman that helped me find the perfect lip color. The signage to know where the line starts is awful and they don't tell you until you've stood there awkwardly for five minutes while they ineptly ring someone up. When there is a line, bring more cashiers. This is common sense. The most amazing part of this disaster is, as someone that has worked customer service and management, the cashier should have been apologetic rather than snarky. Next time I'll order what I need from somewhere else and wait in the comfort of my home. I'd have walked if I didn't desperately need my purchase. read more

A solid 3.75-4 stars for ease of salon services. Only a few turn offs- 1) Stylist didn't really ask about lip color I preferred 2) I purchased lashes with my lash application and the stylist left out the glue that was used. She left specifically at the cashier counter so it was purposely placed alone outside of the box. The cashier also asked if I wanted to keep the remaining 3 pairs of lashes. 3) I wished there was time for her to tell me the makeup she used so I can consider purchasing it in the future. 4) makeup covered up my discoloration and it blended well with my normal skin tone. I was weirded out but the strong demand for eye lashes I purchased, it like each side wanted to have either extra glue or extra lashes. A bit turned off by this. read more

Yes they certainly do have this service here and so much more but this Pearl Highlands Ulta is a welcome convenience versus driving out to Kapolei and is very spacious with so much products. Looking for a particular item the staff here are amazing to help you find what you need which is was so grateful as it was the end of the day and about to close in a few minutes I didn't want to keep them though browsing here is very dangerous finding myself with a few more items lol! I was really just going in to look for one thing I ended up spending about 45 minutes because the staff there was so helpful. I'm really not a tune to all the new brands and all the new products I was just looking for one thing and I ended up purchasing a bunch of things jazz or jazzy I can't remember her name if it was jazz or jazzy, but she was jazzy she was super helpful along with the other staff and I actually for the first time you press on nails and they're really beautiful and it wasn't that difficult to do especially with her instructions and the hair product I have very fine hair she found the perfect product for me to put my hair either. Just put it in to give it a little fullness or to put it in before I blow dry and it doesn't damage my hair so I'm really grateful I will definitely return here. I also got some great eyeliner. The other things she did was I asked her opinion about these two colors that I went in the store looking for and what was interesting as she recommended one and I thought oh maybe I'll try that in the future and then I showed her the other one and she thought wow this is really great most of the time. I feel very intimidated by the people and make up stores cause they're so knowledgeable. What a great experience. I love the products and set up of the store. I bought some hair products, makeup and even some nail polish. I like it's a one stop shop for all my beauty needs. However, There is no clear signage on where to stand to line up to pay. There was no one in line so I just stood where it made sense then someone came up to me and said the line is on the other end. Located at the mall in pearl city with 24 hour fitness. Many choices and more brands than Sephora. Parking is tough & the stalls are tight. Hard to find someone to help. Compared to Sephora- Ulta does not have makeup artists. Or maybe there weren't any there. Not sure if there is a policy for the staff to look the position. Don't mean to compare to Sephora but they are the competitor. However Sephora staff are always pretty and know their different brands. read more

I believe there's a Poke place now . Had to go to their Pearl Highlands location my wife needed some hair products so I decided to take the drive down . They also have another location but it's located at the Ka Makana Alii even farther from Kaimuki lol . So my old stylist Alina moved, but I finally built up the courage to come back and try a new stylist. My second time seeing Chae and she's amazing. I love how it wasn't awkward at all our first time meeting. And she's easy to talk to, as if we've known each other forevs. I appreciate her honesty and explaining her reasoning for adding on services. Definitely makes me feel comfortable, and not just feeling like they're 'upselling" or trying to add on to make more money. Both times I have gotten compliments on my hair, and everyone is surprised I'm going to Ulta. Getting your hair done, and being able to shop in store is still my favorite part! I was at the Onalaska, WI store. Aiden(sp?) greeted me immediately. Helped me find the colognes. I was looking for my husband, my son and myself. I usually like to be left alone to shop. Aiden acknowledged that and said he was there if I had questions. He did check in with me a couple times and was amazing with his knowledge, understanding and familiarity with the product. When I had made my decisions he was able to take my selections to the checkout. Amazing young man. I will return to that Ulta just because he was so good. I am not a make-up person and was a little anxious when I found out with just 24hrs notice that my sister in law was sick and wouldn't be able to do my daughter's make-up for her senior portraits. Luckily my sister in law is a make-up person and her quick thinking led me to Ulta Beauty. She was able to make me an appointment for an everyday look with Alina. When we arrived I was confused as to where to go and began walking around aimlessly with my husband and daughter in toe. Less than 5 minutes later I was approached by a friendly associate that actually turned out to be Alina! She was awesome with my daughter, walking her through each step as she did it. At the end she reccomended a lip oil similar to the one she used for touch ups because she knew that she would be taking her senior portraits later that day. So let me start off by saying that I actually love Ulta! Especially their days of beauty steals where some of their best products are 50% off. This review is more like a PSA to remind everyone to check the expiration dates in products. I was browsing next to the salon and almost every product I picked up on the discount stand was expired. We all know suncare is vital in Hawaii so to be trying to sell expired items .... Is super uncool. Plus if someone buys it and is thinking they are getting full protection that's really not fair to them since we all know the products breakdown over time. Now I would say there might be some leeway however I went in 05/2023 ... and some of the products say expired 2021. I mean seriously take them off the shelves!!! Pictures included cuz I think that's ridiculous to have products that expired in 2021 still on the shelves!!! What is this Ross??? Plus the items are full price!! Do better Ulta! I literally just asked for a root touch up, I'm getting married NEXT WEEK and I left with dull , striped and splotchy hair. Took everything in me not to cry in the chair. I was extremely descriptive and made sure the stylist knew what I wanted and she assured me she did. Showed these pictures for reference. I am so upset and stressed. This is the second time I have came into this salon and left unhappy. Last time I came in and she didn't lighten my roots but root blended me into a darker color she convinced me it was in preparation for the lighting we would do. My makeup artist canceled on me 2 days before my elopement wedding you would think that I would be high anxiety trying to find some place to do my makeup and hair last minute but my now husband was actually the one who was very furious ... THE DAY OF APPOINTMENT: Staff here are so nice!! I kinda get intimidated walking into places like this because everyone is so beautiful but I was immediately greeted and directed to the salon part of the store which I met my oh so lovely and cute makeup artist Zhaina!!! She was so awesome!! I'm usually not a talker during appointments it's the introvert in me but we literally was talking stories through out the entire makeup session!! I felt so blessed after our interaction that till this day I always bring her up to my friends and people also curious on the service here!! If you ever get to see this review zhaina i just want to tell you that your spirit is so undeniably beautiful and that I'm so thankful I was blessed by the talent of your hands to make me feel beautiful. I cannot say enough great things about Jozad and Chae! After an extremely disappointing experience at another location, we waited two months to try again -- and I'm so glad we did. Jozad completely transformed my daughter's hair, which is very long and thick, giving her exactly what she originally wanted. She not only redid the highlights beautifully but also gave her a cute cut and took the time to educate her on how to maintain it. Her patience and attention to detail were truly appreciated! Chae was just as amazing! She worked wonders on my hair--I absolutely love it! She also styled my youngest daughter's hair and gave her some great skincare tips, making the experience fun and educational. These two talented stylists have officially become our go-to team. Said i couldn't return my item at their store when i bought it literal hours prior on ulta site with a credit card and was told to mail it back for a refund. I called a manager and emailed ulta for assistance and i can indeed return in store so making two trips after work two days in a row....in grueling rush hour traffic- i got my refund. Poor service. The cashier instead of paying attention to the line in front of her she helps the guy walking in the door. She sees me at the register and says nothing and walks away with him. The girl behind me another millennial with no class sees that and instead of having common courtesy and says to the other cashier I was before her, she goes and puts her items on the counter. I've been going to the Ulta salon for years now and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my girl Chae. I love her company during the appointment. She's super easy to talk to and makes the time go by way faster. 12-10-2021 Visited this Ulta store above Sam's Club. Since the beginning of the pandemic I got a bleach kit and 3 bottles of Lime Crime unicorn/ mermaid hair tints from Doc purchased out of state. For extreme caution I stayed away from the beauty shop to color my own hair in outrageously fun colors called Bunny, Cloud and Oyster. Once I ran out I ordered on line for more experimenting with additional tints and full coverage which lasts WAY longer. Just so happened when I popped in to this Ulta the Lime Crime products were 20% off, yay perfect timing! I picked up really different colors called Mochi, Shook and Sext. I looked quickly as hubs was waiting in the car. Found a Little Mermaid wet brush for our little sweetie plus some fruity flavored lip gloss. Maybe today 2-27-22 I'll go explore to my heart's content as hubs is visiting Doc and will be back by lunch time. We'll see... Ulta is a fun place to shop. Lots of beauty products. read more

I went to Ulta today with the goal of finding a foundation that matched my skintone. I explained to Shauna (I believe that is her name, forgive me if i'm wrong) that i've always had trouble with foundation because I believe that I have olive undertones so all the foundations I've tried are either too yellow or too orange. She helped me find a shade and when I went home to test it out, it matched my skin perfectly! One of the few cosmetic and beauty shop I frequently go to when I need some quick beauty tools or due a brow wax and tint. As a brow customer and rewards member their sales and deals is what makes everything convenient. They even have clearance items at the front of the store that you can scan through that are still in good condition and if you're lucky you can find really great products for half the price. I like going to the store early in the morning because I won't feel overwhelmed with all the people in the store and it makes shopping much more comfortable for me. The customer service for me is a hit or miss, there are slow days that the lines are long and that they are short staffed which is understandable and then days that they are very welcoming and in your face. During my time shopping at these location, I ran into no problems. What I can say that the person who does my brows monthly is great and she really listens to my needs and I wish I remembered her name. Lol. Haircare, hair services, skin care, skin care services, perfumes, body care, travel size, you name it! Eventually I'll end up buying something here, I just don't know what. The prices are not what I'd like to pay, especially since I'm in the beauty industry... Since they do have KVD and UD I guess if I'm too lazy to hit the mall, this is the best option. Some of my faves are: Bare Minerals Cerave Chanel Dermalogica Olaplex I'm not able to find these two products in-person anywhere else except here: Cerave Hydrating Sunscreen Face Sheer Tint SPF 30: works well alone and underneath my Chanel compact powder foundation. Ideal for spectator all day soccer games or tournaments considering barely any shade and scorching heat. Perfect for being out and about all day and evening. Small amount goes a long way. Joico Defy Damage Protective Masque: This is one hot cake! Popular selling item with a few or last one left on display. Dime size product works well for conditioning and moisturizing hair. Brings moisture back to life. Outstanding customer service when a worker offered an Ulta card to get free shipping for Kitsch Satin Heatless Curling Set that's only sold online and not in stores. Other times, workers are willing to help find what you're looking for. Now I wish they got rid of two items that doesn't work: Cerave Hydrating Sunscreen Body Lotion SPF 50: Stubborn. Product doesn't rub in well and leaves a white cast or residue. I've used this at the beach, pool and soccer fields. No win situation. Kitsch Satin Heatless Curling Set: followed instructions to a T, slept with it on overnight, quite comfortable, yet curls don't last. Lowest price offered online. Perhaps might work for someone else. They were helped while I was still waiting. Seems silly to make the person who's already paid wait, right? I felt like a princess in the store. First, I was warmly greeted once I open the doors and I had time to look around for myself just trying to help myself before getting approached by an associate. Michelle and Sarah have both made my day a lot easier with shopping and what I came in for. Today, I came in to replenish my make up needs for a face primer and a foundation preferably a primer with SPF due to my sensitive skin and also a foundation that would either have SPF or not but would also have a long lasting wear for a day and or night look. They really took their time into educating me on the different types of make up lines that would feature my preferences, they took me around the store, they tested products on me as well and color matched my skin tone, -- it was like the whole full treatment. The store is well-kept and there is a lot of customer awareness and a lot of product knowledge with their associates. I really enjoyed my time shopping there and really getting to know not just the skin products or the make up lines with such varieties but also the associate herself, Sarah. I felt like as if I could talk to her as a friend with such great knowledge, her recommendations, even her personal testimonies. Will definitely come back again!
