This is my third review of the Ulta salon, and this time I want to give a shoutout to Cat. She did my hair and it looks great! She gave my hair a really thorough wash, which I always appreciate, and she was so much fun to talk to while working. It made the whole appointment feel relaxed and fun. Another plus is the pricing. Ulta's salon prices are really reasonable compared to places like Drybar and Blo, which makes it a great option if you want a nice blowout without paying those higher prices. I am taking one star off though, because whoever plans the aisles at this location is clearly not paying attention. I included a video to show how asinine the placement is. Having a kiosk to try on makeup is fine, but then placing a display directly across from it basically blocks the aisle. This store's layout has become really hard to get through, especially in a wheelchair. Just a very poor layout decisions. Great stylist, great prices, ridiculous aisle planning. I'd absolutely book with Cat again... but the store layout needs some common sense. read more

Terrible customer service. I use my own reusable tote bag as I do with all other shopping placing and they were following me like I was stealing the entire time. You could hear them talk about you as they walk by. I got so uncomfortable I just gave my things to an employee and left. read more

While this Ulta location is conveniently located when I'm in the area running errands, it really lacks in customer service and makeup sample supplies needed to test out the makeup items. On my most recent visit on Saturday, 09/16/2023 you couldn't find a lip sample wand or tissue to save your life. It really makes no sense that there were no makeup sample supplies in the entire store for customers to use and not one Ulta employee asked me if I needed any assistance while I was walking up and down the makeup aisles on the hunt for supplies because I was wanting to test out a lipstick color. When I finally asked 2 Ulta employees, who were chatting in the makeup section for a lip wand, one of the employees replied "we don't have any" and the 2nd employee replied "I have some, I came prepared and brought some with me." I'm guessing that 2nd employee was from another Ulta store location that actually wants to sell their makeup products. I like coming to this store for all my colognes here yet i think you have to be dressed a certain way for the sales reps to ask if you need help finding something . When I do come in with a tie on they are more helpful . I came in shorts this time No hello , no welcome in , or can I help you find something ? maybe they thought I was not going to buy . I was planning on buying 6 products for gifts today but ,I will buy somewhere else just because of this. In Any business model you need repeat customers not just a one time sale otherwise the business goes down . They are looking right at you and say nothing . The African American girl and the Hispanic girl working the cologne were no help at all . Just standing there expecting a sale with no effort . They were all huddled in a group talking and when I asked for help the great deal of them walked away from me and recoiled at my presence. What a huge disappointment!! Ulta Pflugerville!!! I specifically inquired about the Ulta Advent calendar inquiring what was included prior to purchasing them. The rep misinformed me and told me it was skin care samples. I bought 4 ($80). Once I opened ONE of the calendar dates, I realized it was a toy. I took them back immediately to exchange, but Parker the manager would not accommodate the request. I am NO LONGER A LONG TIME CUSTOMER OF ULTA who often spends $400 or more at time at this store. They refused to provide me with anything but a 1-800 #. When I call the 1-800# they informed me that Parker DID HAVE the discretion to accommodate me and not them at the customer service number. So, for a little less that $20, they nor my daughters will ever shop the Ulta brand. Unless someone can assist with this and not fabricate information or falsely advertise, I will be exclusively Sephora's. I was told that it was a final sale today yet nobody stated yesterday at the time of purchase. Nor did they list it on the advert. nor on the receipt. What a shame. Pflugerville Ulta, Manager Parker do better. You lost your store much future business as this is the only place I have bought makeup for the last 8 years. read more

I'm not too picky with my hair nor have I ever wrote a review like this in my life.... but this has honestly this has been the worst haircut Ive ever received hands-down... the lack of awareness is honestly alarming... I spoke Marshall F. explaining that my previous barber did not cut my hair very well. He assured me that he would take care of me and he was sympathetic with my situation. I showed him two videos of how I wanted my haircut. Turned out to be a complete hack job that took him a short time and nowhere near what I was hoping for. Seems like this guy has absolutely no idea what he's doing when it comes to cutting men's hair. I was referred by a friend that spoke with him and asked if he did men's hair, which he confirmed he did. I was getting the haircut for event where I had to end up wearing a hat to cover up the $55 mess I had to pay for. I asked for a fade he literally just ran some trimmers across the side of my head. Leaving a patchy uneven mess on both sides. For the bangs, he laid them flat down and cut straight across leaving a bowlcut looking style.. I had to request him to go back and layer what was left on my bangs. I decided to leave due to the fact that haircut was only getting worse... Beware!!! I would give 5 stars to Coy who helped me select makeup to match my skin. I do not like the new Lancome formula for foundation and they found different products and shades to help match me and I ended up buying a 54.00 foundation. The only downside was that Coy was already applying my makeup before I found out they didn't even work at Ulta. They were a rep checking on their product. 3 other associates were visiting in a circle and one even made eye contact with me while I was looking for assistance. That's when Coy walked up to help me. I went in to get my roots done and to brighten my hair. I scheduled my appointment on line a month in advance. when I got there the stylist asked what are we doing? I showed her a picture and told her I wanted to get pretty blonde . she asked if I wanted a haircut I kindly told her no. she seemed irritated. then she proceeded with the foil wrapping. The entire time I was there all she did was complain about how long my hair was and she didn't have enough time. (Yet she wanted to cut my hair) I go to a salon so I can come out looking better. not only is it time consuming it's also expensive But to have to hear the stylist complain about her clients hair! that's just plain disrespectful! Ulta s birthday gifts have become kind of embarrassing. I know it's free so we should be "grateful " or whatever but it used to be a really fun perk... now it just kind of feels .... Like getting an old French fry on your birthday. There also have been several years that they haven't even had any in stock. My first experience at Ulta Beauty was in Dec of 2018. I have always had long hair but wanted a fresh cut and something different. Levi was awesome and did a super professional job. He suggested color and I was hesitant, but he referred me to Giselle and assured me it would be great. Honestly I'm so thankful! Giselle is AMAZING! She did balayage and slowly lightened over the last few months. It looks so natural! I've never professionally dyed my hair and had tried to go more blonde once before and it turned orange because I have a red undertone. Giselle assured me she could make me blonde and let's just say I'm hooked! Ulta prices are amazing and so fair. I highly recommend Giselle and Levi for your experience. This is the most disappointing brow bar experience I've had at an Ulta. Your appointment is 20 minutes long for a reason, but Monique only takes 5 minutes to wax both your eyebrows and lips. Even after communicating it is just a clean up, my eyebrows are incredibly thin because she just slaps the wax on and doesn't take any time to do it right. I gave her a second chance and instantly regretted it. Before moving to the area, I genuinely enjoyed getting to know my brow lady at a different location, and Monique is just interested in getting you in and out so she can continue gossiping. read more

Why we come here I have no idea... I mean lord... she is already amazing! I guess every lady can always use a few things to compliment her beauty... well here is where they go to bath in the glow of a plethora of feminine products for their look. Row after row of different creams, lipsticks, blushes, eye liners, hair products, foundation, etc etc etc... I always tell my wife she doesn't need a thing! She has very natural beauty... but when she wants to kick it up a notch or just maintain this is one of her go to places. Alright this place is huge and from my perspective looks like a woman's paradise to get whatever makeup, perfume, etc to meet their needs. I have come here with my wife a couple of times. Parking is a breeze and easily accessible from the serivce road of toll 130. Customer service can be a hit or miss but overall they are pretty good. I went from platinum to dark to exactly what I wanted. I had been doing my own hair platinum for almost 2 years, I have cosmetologist license. I was so sick of having to do my roots, my hair grows quickly + that look wasn't cute. So I decided to throw the towel + get someone who knew what they were doing. Not only did Heather deal with my very complicated, cranky self she made sure I got what I wanted. When I first left the chair, I was really unhappy. I was like UGH. She did it waaaayyyy too dark, this isn't what I wanted. I had showed her several photos + didn't realize that I was being one of those customers. You know? A Karen. Listen to me when I say trust your hairstylist. I went to her because she was highly recommended, her personality was stellar + she was super knowledgeable in what she does. She also fixed a really bad hair cut I had gotten too. A few months later + it faded into exactly what I wanted. Exactly what she told me it would do too. I went and was scheduled in for an appointment that was canceled. I got this person who said she was really good with perms. So I did the perm told her my hair was tough I take meds I do everything. So two to three weeks I noticed that my hair basically was dry and not what I wanted. I spent $200 and $20 and I got the worst perm ever. About 2 weeks after my perm I got hey how's it going. I told her it sucked and she didn't say nothing. I am never never using Ulta Beauty and I hope management hears us and read this because they suck! read more

I wanted to update my review because I recently received different services at the Ulta salon. I have been going to Lorie for my hair cut and color for awhile now and she always does a great job! I recently discovered she also does hair styling and makeup application too! I had my maternity shoot recently and wanted to look extra pretty for these pictures. It was a dark, gloomy, rainy day and I was discouraged on how the pictures would turn out. I pictured makeup running down my face and frizzy, flat hair. Well Lorie did a great job to make sure I still glowed for picture day! I added both a camera phone picture and an actual picture the photographer took so you could see the hair and makeup work Lorie did. I am so happy with how it turned out! Also, it was very well priced!! I was happy to not stress about having to do my own hair and makeup and I felt beautiful. Customer service is terrible, terrible, terrible. When four "beauty consultants" are standing by the door when I walk in, I expect someone to offer a greeting, instead I just got stares. Not winning any points ladies. I finally found the Laura Geller station and it was a complete mess. The only collection they had was not the one I was looking for and nearly every box had been opened. As I looked around to the end cap, I hear someone talking barely audibly as they walked by. After a few seconds I realized it was one of the ladies from the entryway asking me if I needed help finding anything, only it looked like she was about to run off. I said, "yes I do" and told her I was looking for another set and asked if they had any others throughout the store. She went in to talk about the upcoming holiday line barely audibly. I told her what set I was looking for and she didn't know what I was talking about (it is available on the Ulta website). She was relatively useless and didn't offer suggestions or alternatives. So I grab the set and decide to buy it. In the meantime, Matt's looking at shampoo, I venture to the regular section looking for cuticle remover and my observation is that the whole store is disorganized and messy. No one else asked if I needed anything. I've had way better experiences at other locations. So I buy my things (incidentally with the only lady that spoke to me) and when I was halfway home realized, SHE DIDN'T GIVE ME MY FREE GIFT! My purchase came with a Laura Geller lip pencil and pouch and I didn't get it. Even Matt commented that the customer service is much better at Sephora. I definitely have had better customer service experience buying online! I'll stick to Sephora or Ulta close to work. It's sad that I can't stand going into my neighborhood store. read more

Salon review: it's an easy five star! For years I've searched for my hairdresser-home and I struck gold last November when this location opened. My mom, grandmother and myself made appointments with Heather. Each with very different styles, Heather was accommodating and innovative and most importantly, had a sweet personality to boost. My hair is healthier than it has been in years and Heather was able to help me find a balance in being current without copious amounts of maintenance. She's hip to current products and always has a few recommendations for my needs. I'm I love with my hair again. Thanks Heather!!! Update: I have to share about my new Ulta beauty, Kay. I'd seen the skin area buzzing for months and I finally asked. What gives? After my first facial with Ms. Kay I realized, it's cause she does magic back there. I've been seeing her for microdermabrasion and facials and hallelujah my face rejoices!! She's so sweet and doesn't mind all my invasive questions about skin problems. What is there not to love about this place, if you are a makeup or skin care product or hair care product junky then you will be like a kid in a candy store. I spent an hour in here trying out every single foundation that they had to see what would be a perfect fit for my skin tone. I love their stations that have all of the tools you need to hygienically test the products...not sure if everyone gets the memo on that but I was dousing myself with rubbing alcohol and I don't have any weird fungus growing on me. They also have a great section of normal OTC beauty products, those however are not cheaper than the drug store prices but they have everything stocked up so it is whatever is more of a priority for you. I did get in with some good sales pricing after Christmas so got some buy one get another half off, but I still ended up dropping more than I wanted to here...this place is dangerous, I am not allowed to step foot into it for a few more months. read more

The worst Brow bar experience ever. I called to have an appointment for my Brow wax and Monique didn't want to do my brow as we had issues the last time she did my brows (July30 2020 - She screwed up my brows and when asked to correct she refused to touch as she isn't comfortable doing it, She walked away from the station and Manager had to come in and apologize for her behavior) I agree that they can refuse a service but there is a way to convey it. You can still be respectful while you convey the message to refuse a service. Hanging up falls in the rude way of dealing with customers. It's almost as if they are competing for the "worst customer service in the world" award! Every single time I go in the associates could not seem to care less about what I need and why I'm there. They actively avoid helping people. I tried to use a gift card and the clerk wouldn't take it because it didn't scan. Then she proceeded to very loudly declare "IT WAS DECLINED" like girl calm down its a gift card with a broken label you could have easily typed in the numbers but that would be good customer service, which is apparently counter to their culture there. I was EXTREMELY skeptical about coming into The Salon portion of this store as all my friends told me I would regret it. I sat down and told Taylor exactly what I wanted. She was very thorough and explained everything appropriately to where I understood. She didn't want me to be disappointed that we wouldn't get as light as I would like the first go round. I got my makeup done for my birthday here and could not be happier with the result! Taylor was so fun and easy to talk to and she made me look amazing, even though my appointment was very last minute and later in the day. I rarely wear a full face of makeup and she recommended products to me and helped me swatch colors that matched exactly what I was looking for! My friends complimented my look all night. I also was at the store to sample perfumes and use my birthday reward and had employees checking up on me and asking if I needed help consistently, all very friendly. The cashier at the counter (I'm so sorry I didn't get her name!!) was so patient when my phone was having trouble loading my coupon, and was very sweet. I went to this store recently, and it was a total mess. Store seemed small, dirty, and poorly organized. In addition, there were a lot of shady looking people in there and someone set off the alarm near the perfumes. The staff here also seem pretty useless. I went to the registers to make a purchase, and asked the cashier a question. But she was so busy gossiping with her coworker that she did not even hear one word I said. Unbelievable! I used to think Ulta was a nice retail cosmetic store. It used to be a positive shopping experience. What happened?? I will never return to this Ulta location again. read more

Then when I went to return/exchange it the girl at the counter was like "Oh we were probably just out of it, so they just put that one in there for you." She is great in her craft, actually takes the time to listen to your cut and color needs and offers you suggestions based on her knowledge -- without being pushy like other salons! My daughter had her hair dyed at the Ulta store at Stone Hill in Pflugerville. She wanted only part of her hair dyed red. It turned out burnt orange, and was not even a consistent color. I took her back, and they tried to tell me it was because she washed it too soon or that she must not have taken care of it properly. It was the next day, and she had not washed it at all. They reluctantly "fixed" it, but after a few days, it faded and turned burnt orange...again. Of course they blamed us, and said we didn't take care of it properly. I do not recommend Ulta hair salon service at all. They are unprofessional and their customer service is unacceptable! If you want a completely botched hair dye job, then go to Ulta hair salon at Stone Hill. It looked nice for 2 days but then it faded at a rapid speed. Now I'm in search in finding a place where they can fix it and re dye it. This is costing more than it should have. read more

New to the area, this was my first haircut service in town. I live nearby, and was thankful to see that they had appointments open on Sunday. I was even happier to see that Lorie had appointments available after seeing her name mentioned once or twice in these reviews. So I scheduled the appointment with Lorie online, got the email confirmation and showed up for the appointment a few hours later. I go to the counter and am checked in and, having never been here before and not being sure who I was looking for, was greeted by a stylist. She introduced herself, and she was not Lorie. I mentioned that my appointment was with Lorie, and she said that Lorie got busy and had to throw the appointment over to her. Please note that the star review here is not against the stylist that took care of me today - that person did a good job. This 2-star review is for how that situation was handled. I didn't feel that at the moment I had a say in the matter, so I just went with it and it was fine enough. But I don't like that I chose a stylist based on research I did on here, got an email confirmation that I'd have an appointment with said stylist, and show up and am not given the service I requested with the stylist I reserved an appointment with. That's just not good service. I thank the stylist that did help me today, but I'm not happy with how the appointment rearranging happened. I even tried to call shortly before the appointment to confirm that all was good, but nobody answered at the salon. Please don't do that to customers, especially new ones. I've tried ULTA a few times because I don't know other make-up artists and I'm new to Texas. The first time I went here, it was good, I liked it. It at least did the job for my event. I just had it done again this past weekend by the same person and I really didn't like it. I thought I did and after asking for a few adjustments, I immediately went to my hair appointment and then really looked at it and then almost was frustrated. I just want nice make-up. It wasn't bad, just not what I wanted, it just didn't look good. My lashes started to come up at the corners, my shadow didn't look blended, and my lips were not only bigger than my normal lip line, the color was very gothy. I thought we toned it down which I asked for before I left, but leaving and seeing myself in a mirror, it just wasn't me. read more

So shady. I've been waiting on the new James Charles palette for weeks for my teen daughter. I check online and it shows that there are some in stock. I then call to verify that the data was accurate and the lady tells me, "yes there are actually two (2) in stock." And without any prompt from me, tells me that they "cannot hold stock for the customers". Which makes no sense to me, to esp considering they close in an hour & they can always re-shelf. I immediately leave my home & am at the store in ten (10) minutes. Don't you know the same girl who answered the phone, had the nerve to tell me that they sold the 2 palettes in that time??? One to herself & the other to a co-worker?? & That a few minutes ago they sold two other ones to customers??! So now we're taking 4 palettes vs. 2. She then had the nerve to tell me to call back or better yet be at the store at 9a in the morning when they 1st open & restock??! This is so darn shady and unprofessional & a total waste of time & money!! Why couldn't she & her dumb co-worker buy the stuff in the morning!! So unprofessional & bad customer service. This same store (location) also attempted to sell me broken makeup (Anastasia Glam) that they restocked in a torn makeup package.. on Black Friday. I had them open it to see why the packaging was jacked up.. it turned out to be a customer return, being sold as new. Do not expect to get help or any customer service whatsoever when you come in here. The employees do not even offer help, and cannot do the something as basic as print a gift receipt. This was at a time when the store was almost empty. Watch what you are charged as well, because even if something is clearly marked on sale they will tell you it's not. I had to walk back and find it to take a picture and show her. The manager did apologize finally and say they were hiring seasonal help, so they were training. I hope she does train them to give some sort of customer service. Ridiculous read more
