I tried the Ulta Salon in Plano for the first time the weekend before Thanksgiving and was very happy with my cut, style and the price. The stylists were very friendly and seemed to like working with one another. I was able to make an appointment for the same day that I called even though everyone in the salon was very busy. My stylist, Christine, was meticulous and did a great job of shaping my short cut into a style that was easy for me to duplicate at home. With the coupon that's often advertised for first time salon customers, I got a very good deal, but I'll be back and pay the regular price when I need my next trim. read more

I am not the girly girl you might see in this store. But I came in today, trying to find a new concealer and a little perfume, I got a little help, don't know If the lady was tired but I tried to get something out of my normal and didn't know what I was talking about and got no help, she offered me foundation, which wasn't what I was looking for then offered me a new concealer.i wasn't too fond of it then she tells me to get what I usually get and walks away. I ended up buying both concealers, one that I get and the other she recommended and also a spray. I spent $80 on all 3 items, but still not happy that I had to go threw those lengths to find what I needed, and not sure if I even did. Sets the tone for a bad experience when you up to a counter and stand there for several minutes and finally have to go seek out someone to help you. I should have know then to leave. This is the second time I have made a hair appointment at this location and experienced the same thing. Went on to not be the longest haircut time ive ever experienced due the a stylist that was nice enough but had no sense of time. I left with an average haircut that I could have got at style america, and a bad taste in my mouth. I love the rest of the store but the salon needs some serious management attention. read more

From being greeted at the door, to being asked many times for any help needed while looking through all things beauty, this by far would be the first time I've ever been to a store with such great customer service. Highly recommend this ulta location for many reasons, especially due to the great service I received from Ayesha a benefit brow expert!! This location has a great selection but the customer service I received from the cashier was not acceptable. While I was in line, tomecca was staring me up and down with an awful look on her face. When I got to her it seemed like the last thing in the world that she wanted to do is help me. I had a question about buy one get one half off and she said "doesn't apply to that" as she was talking about the completely wrong thing that I was asking. I under stand people have bad days but you could at least fake being nice. Would it recommend this place until customer service is fixed if she is no longer working there. read more

DO NOT USE THE SALON!!! You will be very disappointed and stained from the hair color. My stylist has not business being a stylist. She didn't know how to mix the color on her own (I use 1 color black). She dripped it all over me and I had to ask her to wipe up my face! She didn't rinse it all out (The next day after a workout I had blue all round my neck and chest!). She got all fluttered when her next appointment showed up and quickly, QUICKLY cut my hair!!! I have been in this store a few times, and it is never a radiant experience. The staff seem MUCH more interested in private jokes which invariably seem to involve pointing out customers, making negative snide remarks and mocking them. The manager Lisa seems to be the ringleader of such activity, as she seems to be the most vocal proponent. Browsing the next aisle over I heard her mock an employee, two customers and a passerby within one minute. Nice to know how valued the clientele are to this store. Honestly the whole 'mean girls' vibe of the store is just an overwhelming negative. Other stores carry what they do, often at better prices, and I don't need to help keep people in business whose sole purpose is to keep mean-spirited little trolls employed. Let's not even begin to discuss how their stylists don't seem to believe in bathing or that you are liable to be accused of shoplifting if you are there during a slow business day, which is often. In short, spend your money elsewhere. I don't know if all Ultas are like this one, but it left a bad enough impression on me to avoid them as a corporate chain from now on. read more

Employees were extremely rude and decided to gossip about the customers walking in instead of helping them...which last time i checked...is what they're paid to do... assist the customer who is PAYING...not talk sh*t when you are pretty ratchet yourself. Anyway. Treated me like a criminal because I exchanged a $25 item but was purchasing a $200 sale. WTF?! I've worked in cosmetics, I know you pseudo-high class idiots make 50k at most and most make $10/hr. Since I do like the products they carry, I will go to their store just to browse, but definitely won't give any local Ulta store sales credits due to their ridiculous customer service. I'll just buy what I like online. Oh...and their hair stylists are ridiculous....if you don't want to pay $200 plus just to have your hair fried...again go elsewhere. read more

Another place I can drop a lot of cash pretty quickly, and another place my husband begrudgingly walks into. They sell pretty much everything beauty related. From cheap drug store cosmetics like Cover Girl, to mid level department stores brands like Urban Decay and Benefit. They don't carry any really high end or luxury cosmetic brands, but I'm not really into to spending that much on make up anyhow. They have a salon where you can get a cut and color. They also carry good quality flat irons, curling irons, and hair dryers. They have drug store and salon brand shampoos and conditioners, but only drugstore boxed hair color. They have a small selection of bath items. Pretty good selection of skincare products and some harder to find brands like RoC and Alpha Hydrox. They have a good selection of mens and womens fragrances and have everything on display so you can test it. Service is definitely lacking, so its best to know what you are doing when you go in. read more

Went in to this Ulta to see if they had a cologne for my boyfriend and an eyebrow pencil for my mom. I have been to this ulta before and every time the staff is rude. Not only was the staff unhelpful and pushy they didn't even look to see if they had the products. when I got online to look it said that location had the brow pencil and cologne. So I took my mom back with me to look at brow pencils and as soon as we got in there all the staff MADE SURE to make it really clear that they're closing in 10 minutes. No one wanted to help us and the girl that did just rushed us. I asked her to look in the cologne drawer to see if they had the cologne since online said they had it and she sighed and went "they won't let me open it cause were about to close, and we probably don't have it online gets it wrong". Tons of people walked in after us and the staff made it so clear that they were about to close, you could tell all they cared about was getting out of there. As someone who's worked in customer service for years I found this service very rude. It was as if we stayed until 6 that they would kick us out. If I could give 0 stars I would. By far the most unfriendly ulta I've ever been in. It's worth it to drive to another Ulta. read more

I originally came to the Collin Creek Ulta Salon (store number: 87) on Friday, September 20th to get a partial highlight and simple trim. When I first sat down both the stylist and the Salon Manager, Rebecca, looked at my color and then Rebecca taught my stylist how to perform the highlight with foils. Both of them reassured me that this was not because my stylist did not know what she was doing, it was simply because she did not know Ulta's specific foil protocol. We proceeded with the services, lasting three hours, and keeping the employees in the building after it was closed. When I was finished I left the salon with partially wet hair. When I got home and fully dried my hair I saw that it was completely blotchy, spotted, and orange even though I had requested blonde and carmel highlights. The majority of the highlights did not even cover the length of my hair, but instead were just orange stripes near my scalp. I had to attend an event on Saturday, which was the reason I was getting my hair done to begin with so I was unable to make it back to the salon and had to attend the event with orange spotted hair. When I returned to the salon on Sunday to correct the color both the stylist and the store manager, Lisa, were shocked to see how poorly the highlights were done. The store manager, Lisa, even went as far as to take pictures of my hair because the highlights were so atrocious. Both the stylist on hand and Lisa told me the only way to fix my hair would be to dye it dark brown and then have me return a few days later to get highlights. Taking their advice I agreed to change my almost platinum blonde hair to almost black hair in order to correct the highlights from Friday evening. The stylist applied the permanent color and after washing it realized that my hair was now striped and green, not the dark chocolate color that it was supposed to be. The stylist told me the only way to fix that would be to put a gloss on it and it will darken the green out, and I was then supposed to have all one color dark brown hair. After applying and then washing the gloss not only was my hair still green and striped, my entire forehead was brown, including a big spot of brown dye right in the center. Both my stylist and Lisa, the store manager tried to glaze over the fact that my hair was still green and did not seem to take my dissatisfaction or complaints seriously and I was forced to call my mom to come help me plead my case for a full refund. Bear in mind I am a 22 year old adult, who was not taken seriously with my green hair, and had to call her mom for reinforcement. After my mom speaking to Lisa we were able to get a refund for the cut and color, and I left the salon with green and black hair, and huge spots of brown all across my forehead. I will have to start the first day of my new job tomorrow with my forehead in this condition. Lisa's solutions included washing my hair with laundry detergent, or going to Sally Beauty Supply to get red dye to neutralize the green color, which of course was only mentioned after speaking to my mom. My major problems with my experience at Ulta this weekend are specifically with the management. Not only was Rebecca, the salon manager, fully aware of the first stylist's inability to highlight my hair, which was shown through her tutorial when I first arrived. Rebecca also left the salon early and put both me and her stylist in a very unfortunate position. Then on Sunday Lisa, the store manager, was unable to put me at ease and seemed to think that she could convince me that my formerly blonde, now green and black hair was not that big of a problem. In total I spent 7 hours in the salon between the two days, I wasted $30 on product and tip on Friday night, I will have to wait for the initial purchase to be refunded to my card, but most importantly I left with green and black hair when I intended on being platinum blonde. Over all I am very unsatisfied with my experience at the Ulta Salon, their customer service, and management procedures. read more

This Ulta is okay. I find that most that I've been to in the metroplex are fairly disappointing. Yes, they have the items I want for the advertised prices. It is clean enough. For being a store with cosmetics, their lighting is pretty poor. Maybe this is finicky of me, but I wish stores would restock products as they're bought in a timely fashion. They always seemed to be out of the NYX products that I wanted. Otherwise, the staff is pretty nice. read more

Horrible customer service with their salon. I had an appointment for 7pm. I arrived a few minutes before my appt time and no one was at the service counter in the salon. It took 8 minutes for me to be able to find anyone to help me. The stylist I had the appointment with was told I was there for my appointment. I could see that the stylist was just beginning to cut someone else's hair. As it turned out, I was waiting for 35 minutes and the stylist I had the appt with still wasn't finished with the client she was with. The entire time I was there, she never once came to me to apologize for the delay or to communicate with me. After waiting for 45 minutes and seeing she still wasn't finished with her client, I decided to leave. I won't be going back. For the prices they charge one would think they would have better people skills. read more

Store had very few customers but the line waiting at the registers in front was very long although 3 registers were open. I could not find the product I wanted and walked around the entire store looking for someone to help me. I found only 2 employees and waited patiently until one of them was free. When she asked what I needed and I replied what I was looking for she said she had 2 customers waiting and she'd try to find someone else to help me. So she pawned me off on the only other employee who was already helping a customer with many questions. I waited for 5 minutes and then gave up. When I arrived at the front to check out there was one couple lined up. I still waited 6-7 minutes before getting to a register. Not going back -- too slow and nobody around to help! read more

If I could give this Ulta zero stars, I would. I went in for a blowout and to get my hair curled, and am very peculiar about my hair. I told the stylist exactly what I wanted - which from what I've gotten done to my hair in the past is an absolutely achievable feat. The stylist barely knew how to curl my hair and forgot to hairspray.. She kept switching between myself and another client (if they were too busy I would have rather them told me not to come in). Finally, after customers kept coming in, she asked if another stylist could take over my hair. This new stylist basically tried to curl my hair wet. I left that salon with a bunch of kinks in my hair and damp hair that was attempted to be curled. I had to go home and completely re-do it myself. After I got home I called up and told them that I wanted a refund because this was absolutely unacceptable. I was told to bring my receipt in and that they would refund me. When I went in with my receipt the cashier was beyond nasty that she had to refund me, and failed to refund me my tip. If you can't perform a service that I am paying for then you do not deserve to be tipped. This employees of this store are completely uneducated in anything related to beauty care and I would not trust their opinions/advice because every time they have given me product advice- it turns out not being helpful at all.
