This was my 1st time visiting this Ulta and also booking an appointment for a service. I opted for the brow wax and style. I was apprehensive due to being very particular about my brows! However, Elizabeth was very understanding, talked me through the process. As a result of her outstanding CS I was more at ease to trust the process! I was pleased with the end result. Had the worst experience with HANNAH from the hair bar. She made my appointment for 4pm, I got a call around noon to move it up, I said I could try but I was doing a nap for toddler, I called at 1:33 and said I could maybe make it maybe earlier but it takes 50mins to get to this location and I'm very pregnant. She said take your time, your OG appointment was at 4, so no rush. I arrived at 3pm ONE HOUR earlier and on time for what I quoted her with distance and her own confirmation, and when I arrived she had left for the day. She had apparently without texting a confirmation text moved my appointment for 2pm and then let me drive 50mins pregnant on my birthday and Mother's Day, to not be at work anymore. This was a horrid experience and I'm disgusted by her lack of professionalism and her disregard for basic human decency. 10/10 don't recommend read more

I was a bit leery to visit this store, due to a couple of bad reviews, but I needed a few products. So this is the truth- if you're a big girl, and you want help finding a product... you can always ask for help! This idea that when you walk in a store the workers should bend over and start licking on you is absolutely ridiculous! I needed help, a woman was stocking a shelf and I asked if she could help me. Wow! The customer service at this location is horrible. I went in there with the intention of spending the $200 gift card I received as a gift. I spent 10 minutes at the Tarte counter trying to find a certain bronzer. Two employees were on the other side of the display chatting. Not one time did they ask if I needed assistance. This is my absolute favorite Ulta in NC. They have a Morphe display! All of the employees here are really friendly for an Ulta. Most of the locations I've been to people in general are not friendly at all, but not this one. I literally go out of my way to go to this one just because I love the way the store is set up, they always have what I want in stock, and everybody that works here is so friendly. read more

I walked in on a slowish day and not many customers were there. I have only bought beauty products and such from them not received services. As soon as I walk in I do not get greeted at all as I look around and they're all just staring at me and not saying anything.. Like ok.. I pick up a bag and start looking at make up and they are watching me like a hawk the entire time and standing close to me. Another customer comes around me and they ask if she needs help but doesn't acknowledge me whatsoever. To get help I had to track a lady down and it was useless. Going to the checkout I spent a load of money and was in there less than an hour, still no one even spoke to me or acknowledged me at all. It was an awkward and weird experience. Perhaps they should consider some type of training on how to treat PAYING customers! read more

I went to get my eyebrows done on recommendation of someone. The associate was doing another customer's brows so rather than interrupt, I waited nearby just to ask when would be a good time to come in or if I should wait. I've never had to have an appt for brows. The person doing brows never looked up or acknowledged my presence. Another associate behind me asked, "Can I help you?" in a tone that was clearly annoyed that I was standing there. I told her I was there to have my eyebrows done to which she replied very rudely, " She is totally booked, totally booked, you have to make an appointment or you can take one of her cards." The one doing brows then said she could probably do it in 10 minutes so I decided to wait, no problem. It would be 21$ which is twice what I usually pay, but she was highly recommended so I thought I would try it out. While I was waiting, a customer called about getting brows done and the same rude associate talked to her. After she hung up, she said to the brow girl, "I guess they think I'm going to stop you in the middle of what you're doing just for them." Extremely snooty and catty, just rude. I cancelled my appointment, walked out, went to Pinecrest Plaza, walked in and was greeted by a sweet professional lady who took me back immediately and did a GREAT job for 10 bucks. I tipped 5 and still spent less than Ulta charged. They need a class in customer service at Ulta and also to leave the snobby, attitude bs at the door. And the eyebrow chick should do something about the other associate who appears to be running off her customers. If I had liked the job she did on my brows, I may have become a regular customer. Being a guy and getting your brows done can be a bit scary. But I have to say a nice young lady named Taylor made all bad thoughts go away. I was very afraid that I would walk out looking like a girl or have really thin brows but she kept them very masculine,and cleaned them up very well like I liked them. I give Taylor 5 Stars because she actually walks you through the steps to make sure your a happy customer. read more

My 13 year old had an eyebrow appointment scheduled and we arrived early. The employe working in the area looked at us and walked away. She proceded to walk by us a dozen more times. Each time avoiding contact. The staff at the register told us the employee who is going to help us was not scheduled to start till the time of our appointment. They reassured us as they pointed her out and said she is here and will be with you soon. The employee did come out a few minutes later and started talking with the empoyee who ignored us. As our apointment time appriached the employee walked past us to help someone esle. At this point they could not pay my daughter to stay. As a parent, I was concerned that their lack of focus and attention might pass along to their work. So we left. It was obvious to me the employees were not interested in helping a Dad and his daughter. read more

I try not to ever leave bad reviews of anywhere as I figure if I don't have anything nice to say, why say anything at all, however, I was so appalled at the customer service today, i feel the need to report this experience. I have never used an Ulta Salon before as, in the many places I've lived and Ulta stores I've been to, the Salon employees have always come across as rather low rent and trashy. However, after moving back to this area & not knowing where else to go I decided to give it a try. Tyler did a wonderful job and I happily accepted his card and thought I had found a stylist. I scheduled a second appointment with him several days in advance and was texted a reminder (although I loathe texts). I arrived 10 minutes early for my 4:30 pm appointment on a Saturday. First, I had to fight my way through a gaggle of Ulta employees who were just standing in a group, leaning against the shelves, doing nothing, to even get to the back of the store where the salon is located. Then, i get to the salon area, let them know I'm there for my 4:30 with Tyler, and I am informed that Tyler had called in sick that day and Anne Marie could take my appointment. This was after 4:00 pm and NO ONE COULD CALL TO TELL ME THIS INFORMATION?! If I had been given a choice, I may have chosen to keep the appointment, but to have driven there, on a stormy afternoon, to be told I have the choice to reschedule or be taken on by another stylist (who acted like it was some sort of favor to be so generous) was rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. I don't blame Tyler - either the other staff at the salon are trying to drive away or poach his clients, but I will never return to that salon or even that store; he called in sick and they did nothing to inform his clients other than offer another stylist ONCE THE CLIENTS WERE THERE? I was just so disappointed and disgusted. I can get products online and there are plenty of other places to find a good stylist. I will never visit this Ulta again. read more

The store itself is clean for the most part and the inventory is great. However, the customer service leaves something to be desired. I've never had good service there. It's always hard to find someone to help you. Last week I called to check to see if they had a product in stock before I stopped in to get it. After being placed on a long hold, seemed to be forgotten about, picked up by another associate whom I asked the same question. She told me they didn't have that product and they didn't carry any of that brands products anymore. I had time and was in that area the same day, about 2 hours after I called and decided to just check for myself. They did have the product...fully stocked and had every other one of the brands products fully stocked as well. Hm. I was checking out and the GM was ringing me up so I decided to bring it to her attention, just so she knew. And she just laughed it off. read more

This was the worst haircut and highlights I have ever had in my life!! I am 60 years old and have been getting this done since I was 14 years old. I have lived all over the USA and had the opportunity to use all types of salons. First of all she turned my hair old person blue/purple and then tried to tell me that it did not look like it was blue. The highlights were all different sizes and chunks. Like a kid just grabbed hair randomly and foiled it. Big blobs of color in the back of my hair. She cut it backwards and it was hideous.....I said oh no way, please get someone to fix this. The manager came over and said well we could probably try to color over it again but it might make your hair all fall out. WTF??? further saying if I try and fix the cut I will have to make it really, really short to correct it. They charged me $160 for this bloody mess. I said I am not paying that. She said she would call the police. Now if I did not have to worry about my own license and living I would have said have at it lady!! I felt like throat punching them both. It took me almost a year and several hundred dollars and it still is not back to the right color and shoulder length. DO NOT GO THERE, I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE, THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND RUDE AND A RIP OFF. MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE AND THE "experienced stylist" had less than 6 months experience.
