I know folks have had issues with customer service here, however that has not been my personal experience. The staff greets me at the door, they walk with me , recommend stuff, answer any questions I have. This is the only location I go to. It was my first time doing a return and it was painless. I would be very very careful if you order something from here to pick up in store. I ordered 7 items, picked up later in the evening after working a 10 hr workday and quickly looked through the bag before leaving the store to make sure all the items were there. Get home only to find that every single item had the clear security / tamper resistant seal sliced open and every bottle was half used. If this was a returned item or a floor sample I have no idea why it would end up in a paying customer's pick up order, it's beyond mind blowing. There are many other places to purchase these items and everything else I've used Ulta for. Time to shop somewhere I'm actually appreciated as a consumer. read more

Terrible customer service compared to other Ulta stores. Not one person greeted me or asked if I needed assistance. The girls behind the counter were too busy talking to each other, and another on the floor glanced at me and kept doing what she was doing. Wow. That's when I walked out. I'll now make it a point to go to Sephora or other Ulta locations and not this one ever again. Or maybe stick to Sephora period. Management, train your staff better. read more

To be fair , I dislike all Ultas , It always takes too long to find the one thing I go in for and even if it's not crowded , there's a line. I thought this one , early in the day in a less populated area would be better. Wrong! Same wasted time looking for the item, same slow line. And again ,they want. my phone # that I don't want to give. The sales clerk is rude and even though everyone.else in front of me gets a bag, not me. she basically throws. my item at me. I wish I could give a good review of this store because the location is convenient for me. The staff behind the sales counters are not customer focused. Even with long line they are talking to friends and not helping customers for extended period of time. They also did not want to honor their own promotion on my mobile application until I asked to bring the manager over. It seems like this store could do better training of their employees. read more

This review is for the hair salon. I went in yesterday with my 4 year old daughter. I wanted her long hair cut to her shoulders and framed around her face. I couldn't believe how short she cut her hair. She also didn't frame her face. It looks like a bowl cut. I couldn't even understand why she would cut it that short when I said SHOULDER LENGTH. The "pro" was really nice. And I actually paid $45 for a jr. cut because she was supposed to be better than the ones that charge $30. I didn't want to cause a scene there, because like I said, she was really nice and really made my daughter smile the whole time. I was and still am so upset. It took a lot for me to even get her hair cut, but I wanted it to be easier to take care of because she has thick curly hair. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the hair stylist was nice, otherwise, it would've been one star. I highly recommend not going there for hair. read more

I give this Ulta hair salon ZERO stars. I could write a very lengthy review to really give you the horrible lack of service I received- but it would be too much In a nutshell, I made an appt. and the first available was in 21 days. I took it. The day of my appt. - the hairdresser herself called and said she was running behind 1 hour- could I come in at 6:30 pm - now I work all day in an office and start early - so this was late for hair. But I was desperate. When I got there, she didn't take me until 7pm. Finally sitting, we discussed my hair and I needed highlights and cut. I wanted a couple extra highlights in the back and hairdresser said no as she works for a "corporation" and cannot deviate from pricing - and did not have TIME anyway for more highlights - could I come back another day. I could not believe what I was hearing and she said she was already working late and the store girls had to stay with her and they could not do that. UH!! My appt was for 5:30. She took me at 7pm. The hairdresser made herself late and I unfortunately got the repercussions . I walked out. No hair done. No cut. No nothing. No yelling. AND - the kicker is that I think the hairdresser was happy and relieved. Her excuses and language were extremely unprofessional!! I have heard terrible stories from other people about this Manahawkin location. Her name started with an A. Sorry I tried to make this short. TY for reading. I walked in on what was pretty busy for a week day. Despite there being many customers however, three employees seemed to have been following only me. Each asking me at least three time if I "needed help with anything" I informed them that I was ok, and didn't need any assistance, yet they kept following me around and asking. Just then for the first time in my life I realized that I was the only person (customer or employee) of color in the whole place. As I paid for my purchase I tried speaking with the cashier who at first was listening, until I told her it seemed like I was being followed around the full store specifically at which point she abruptly cut me off, ignoring my comments and rushed to ring me up. Went in to get help with skin care and make up. I don't use a lot of products so I I had questions. Coleen assisted me with skin care. Super nice and helpful. She really knows her products and kept my purchases within my price range. From there, Ellen helped with make up. Also a great experience. I love all of my new products. Horrible ! Don't get your hair done here ! I had to go back a second time and beg the manager to fix the mistake the first stylist made. My roots were orange! I also went to buy a new lip color. I had to ask one of the two girls who were just standing around for help. Then I had to ask to try on colors. She didn't ask to sit me down and put the colors on me. Don't get a hair cut there!! I showed the stylist 4 pictures of my hair exactly how I wanted it, she said no problem. My hair was very long, I wanted about 6 inches taken off, she cut about a foot! I wanted it cut about 4 inches below my shoulders and layered with long side swept bangs, what I got looks like a cross between a helmet and a mullet, if I want to fix it I will have to get it cut to my chin!
