I have never used their services in the store (makeup tips, skincare, etc.), but overall, Ulta is a superstore for cosmetic and beauty needs. I do wish they advertised their sales more readily, as many items can be pretty pricey for my taste, but one can always find something they need in that store. I'm glad that we have one in the city, but I found my experience at Ulta to be less than great. A lot of the lower cost make up products are missing from the displays and many of the testers are missing. Many of the items that are in the displays have been opened and are not testers. So you could be buying a dirty product if you're not really careful about what you're picking up. If I were running the store, I would be embarrassed to have most of the lower cost products out of stock when I can walk into a Walmart and most everything is in stock and clean. I purchased a lipstick for pick up and when I got it, it was used. Eww. I brought it back to the store to return and didn't have my phone on me - the manager wasted 20 minutes trying to determine the amount of the return due to me using a 15% coupon on the Ulta app - the return was a huge waste of my time and the person in charge was basically scrounging for pennies when I am high income and spend a lot on makeup annually - 30 minutes of my time is more valuable than two dollars. I'll probably just order online from other stores and have stuff shipped to me. Being able to look at the testers and the swatches in person was really important, but Ulta has almost nothing out for swatching and they had almost no Q-tips for testing. Even if they had run out of the makeup products or there's some sort of supply chain crunch what is their excuse for not refilling the Q-tip containers? I visited on two different days for a couple hours a time and it was empty both times. I feel like it's crazy not to have this available for your customers and shows a lack of care for your customers. I had a hair appointment scheduled and was contacted earlier in the day letting me know that an earlier spot opened up. It wouldn't be with the original hairstylist I had scheduled with, but an earlier appointment was perfect. I appreciated the communication. Keely was my hairstylist and she did a phenomenal job! I showed her an image of how I wanted my hair cut, and explained how I had a botched job overseas. As she began cutting my hair, she would check in and ask if I wanted sections shorter or keep it at the length it was at. Passed by because we were in Governors Square and my companion told me she wanted a brush for her eyeshadow palette. Found out that ULTA Beauty was nearby and decided to go there because we thought it was more reasonable than Sephora. We went and turns out it was packed. Moreover, they were lacking quite a few products. Still, service was great. You know, once we could get someone to help. Keely colored my hair and picked out makeup for me She was great ! I feel she's got a real gift with color

I had a 1:00 appointment to have strip lashes applied. The appointment started almost on time (around 1:20ish) because the lady in the chair before me got up in tears and didn't finish getting her hair completed. I thought because I was only having strip lashes glued on I should be okay. Chrystal sat me down and "measured" the lashes only to cut them almost in half. I'm thinking...maybe she knows something I don't. She glues them on and asks me if they feel okay. They didn't feel wrong. I looked in the mirror but my fault for not bringing my glasses. I tipped (shouldn't have) and paid. Get to my truck and look in the mirror. I could see the gap between my eyelid and lash line because she glued the piece of lash to my eyelid. I have someplace to be so I leave and figure I'll make it right with makeup I only need to get through tonight. I run an errand and on the drive home I SEE my right lash in my line of vision. I get in the house and it's hanging sideways because it's about to fall off!!! It's only 2:59 so not even 2 hours after leaving the lashes are on my counter. I call Ulta, get someone on the phone who offers to discount my next service. I let her know I don't ever plan on returning for another service. I would've expected a refund since I paid with card but that was never mentioned. I was told it would be discussed with her so that it doesn't happen again. That was my first and LAST Ulta Salon visit. When you know better - you do better!! read more

It was my first time at the Ulta Beauty Salon. My appointment was scheduled with Iddy and she was the sweetest person. They have a few different levels of stylists and while I am not sure what level she was it was a $47 price point for the haircut. She cut my hair EXACTLY as I described I wanted it. I showed her a photo in my phone and she matched it! I am between jobs and usually have highlights. With the cut she ended up taking most of the highlight out. I still had some left around my face so the stark difference between those and my natural color was not the best look for me. She used a sage color toner on me and it darkened the highlights down to within a few shades of my natural color. Will definitely be going back to this Ulta Beauty Salon and having Iddly re-color my hair to the bright blonde I miss so much! Thanks for reading! read more

I wanted to do something nice for myself, so I booked a blowout three days in advance. I have been looking forward to it all day, only to walk in and hardly be greeted at all, was told to wait about 15 minutes, which I did without a problem. 15, then 20, minutes go by, and the person who greeted me definitely saw me there waiting and rushed past. I noticed they were going to clock out, so I said hey, any idea of how long it will be? So she looks back and then looks at me and says "well I guess I can start with shampooing your hair and putting a treatment in and then she should be done in time to style". It was really obvious that I was the last thing they wanted to deal with in that moment, and so when I have got frustrated and said, I would just come back some other time, all I got in response was "yeah, sorry about that". I understand being sick of the workday, but at least be professional, and acknowledge a paying customer. Very disappointed. This review is only regarding a stylist/ makeup artist Iddy Felder. When no one else was available to help me color match, she assisted me and finding my perfect match and the right brush and skin prep for use. She did so without me asking noticing I needed help. She was very kind and knowledgeable and walked with me around the store to make sure I got the proper products and what she used on me. She also took her time helping me understand the proper application process. I would highly recommend going to her if In need of makeup classes or getting makeup done! read more

I scheduled an appointment with salon at ulta. Arrived 30 minutes early. 15 minutes after my appointment time, I stood up from waiting area and stared at hairdresser running his mouth last 45 minutes. He finally said I'll be with you in a little bit. Poor customer service. I should have been greated by salon staff within 45 minutes of sitting there. I visited the store today and had a wonderful experience! My sales associates were Hanna and Savannah, and they truly made my visit the best it could be! Savannah was so kind and knowledgeable. Hannah was the manager and helped me with using my birthday and online rewards. I will absolutely be returning again soon! I've never had a bad experience at this Ulta. The workers usually ask if I need help if the stores not too busy, and will leave me to shop when I say I'm good. If they are a little more busy and I do need help, getting their attention is not super difficult and they're always down to answer your questions or help you locate a product. The idea of Ulta in general is pretty great. They have both prestige- less than Sephora but Sephora is a strictly prestige store- and drug store brands- probably more than the average target or drug store- which makes the shopping experience friendly for almost any budget. Where Ulta really beats Sephora is there rewards/points program and their sales game. Sephora is stepping it up with their weekly wow sales, but Ulta does month long beauty steals several times a year that allows you to get amazing products for 40, 50, 60 percent off. It's incredible. They'll also occasionally give you 20% off coupons, including prestige, while Sephora will only do that 2, maybe 3 times a year. Plus, more points you rack up (which they do point multiplier events ALL the time), the more money you can save. I, at one point, had $200+ in points because of all the saving and point multipliers I would use. It's amazing. Customer service ON POINT. read more

I will never shop at this location again. It must be because it's in a college town but this Ulta is the worst. I went in on my birthday to pick up some things I had been wanting for a while and the store was completely packed (which is fine. I get it. It was spring break lol) The workers that help customers 'on the floor' are always very helpful but of course, they watch you like a hawk. I don't mind being watched while I shop (I would never even think of stealing) but how is it that they watch customers constantly and yet I still walked out with TWO products that had both been opened? This has happened to me MULTIPLE times at this location. All of their testers in the 'drug store' section are filthy. Even most of the brand new packages have been opened. I don't like to open any caps or boxes while in the store to check the seals because I don't want the employees to think that i'm trying to open them or steal them, but at the same time I shouldn't have to worry about my BRAND NEW (usually quite expensive) products being tampered with. This is a medium-sized Ulta location that is very well organized and staffed by friendly employees. Their selection of premium makeup includes Benefit, Urban Decay, Too Faced, and others, but is perhaps smaller than other large Ulta stores. They have a wonderful drugstore selection, as I like to call it, with Almay, Rimmel, and all of the other familiar brands. I just moved to Tallahassee and decided to get my hair done at the Salon in Ulta. What a mistake. Over 6 hours and 200$ later I look worse than before. I told the stylist I wanted a subtle baylage and I didn't want it blonde just a lighter brown than my hair. Somehow I ended up with most of my hair looking bright blonde. PLEASE READ!! I went in today to pick up an order that I purchased online during a sale two days ago. When I got to my car, I noticed that one of the items was damaged. I went back inside and asked to exchange my products for an undamaged one. When the cashier rang me up, she said that I will have to pay more for the undamaged product. When I asked her why I am paying more for the same product, she said that because I used a coupon, I would now have to pay full price. Refund mishap. Returned 50.00 of product. Used my Visa and a Visa gift card. The cashier tossed out the visa gift card after it was used and proceeded to issue a refund when we went back a week or so later on the gift card that was trashed when we first purchased. We didn't realize that she *refunded to the wrong card until later. Now we have no product and are out 50.00. She never asked if we wanted a new gift card or refund to our personal Visa. Stopped in because I needed to get some kind of self-tanning cream for my pale skin. I always love to come to Ulta because there are just so many cosmetics to check out. I was on a quick trip this time, so I didn't have time for much browsing. But I did try on a couple of new perfumes and checked out a little clearance area they had set up. I then made my way to the sunless tanning , and I picked out what I needed from the nice selection that they had. I continued on to the checkout area where a very, very friendly young woman assisted me. One of the things I love about Ulta is that they have a loyalty card. I managed to accumulate $3 in savings. Three dollars may not sound like much, but if I saw $3 laying in the street I wouldn't walk past it without picking it up, would you? Plus I do like Bed Bath Beyond and Marshall's in the same shopping center for other things. Although this Ulta is a good size store I find the stock to be inconsistent, hit or miss...and sometimes dusty - check the expiration dates! Overall, this store just doesn't seem well run, lines are long and staff is just okay, I'll try to find a manager and they are always more helpful. After my dreadful experience at Sephora, it was a pleasure to be greeted by the staff here. I have never had a bad or mediocre experience at Ulta Beauty and I doubt that I ever will. The culture is customer-centered, and inclusive. The staff are diverse and knowledgeable. I don't shop here a lot, but I may have to change it up. The staff engages and they actually smile, almost like they actually enjoy what they do (lol). Needless to say, I bought my perfume (Coach Floral) and my sister got her Marc Jacobs Daisy. We had a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend this location and company. They also do affordable facials (something I learned by speaking with an associate). Great job!
