I needed a place (same-day) to get my nails done, for a fill and design. Called and they picked up immediately, being very professional and attentive over the phone. I asked how much a design would be and they told me to DM them, and when I did, I got an instant price and showed up 20 minutes later. They were very clear with directions, very gentle, and made me feel like I was going to get some good nails. Low and behold, I did! Thomas, THANK YOU for your gentle handling and attention to detail. Every flaw I noticed, Thomas quickly fixed, being attentive to detail. The design was $10 and the fill was $35. Recommending all my friends for sure! :)

She didn't push my cuticles back to expose the most nail, she was checking her phone in the middle of painting my nails, and she was more preoccupied with chatting with her coworkers than my nails. The gel is patchy and uneven and there are obvious missed spots. Some techs were not wearing masks. They seem to be great to their regulars, but my tech obviously didn't care about making me one.

I have been getting my nails done at this establishment for over a year and every time I am more and more impressed with the outcome. The service is spectacular, the environment is welcoming and clean, and the product is superb. I would recommend this place to everyone.

I end up waiting at least 20 minutes past my appointment time, just to end up with hideous nails. I brought my friend with me before thanksgiving, and she asked for pink gel. Walking out of the salon, she had gotten a below average manicure, but at least they were pink. One week later, this is what they look like. It looks like fungus or something disgusting. As for my manicure, I got an acrylic fill in and walked out with acrylic all over my fingers and cuticles. Pieces of acrylic were hanging off my tips. Absolutely ridiculous. Never going back again. Don't waste your money here.

the best place I have ever found for nails. their prices are extremely good for the services they provide. I get gel manicures and they usually last about a month or longer. they can do almost any design you want and if your nail tech can't they will switch to make sure you get what you want. all the employees are super nice and make you feel really comfortable. you can tell they all love each other and work really well as a team even when the entire place is filled. won't go anywhere else for my nails

I really wanted to love Urban Nails because the location is super convenient and T was super nice when she did my nails! However, I got a gel french manicure for a wedding and in less than two days, half of my nails were chipped! I think she might have forgotten the gel top coat, because I've never had a gel mani chip so fast. When I called the salon, it sounded like they were happy to remedy the issue however I wanted, but then whoever runs their online account rudely told me they couldn't do anything and to stop calling the salon. Super, super weird. I would avoid this place. read more

I have been coming to urban nails for a while now and have only left unhappy maybe once. They have amazing prices for what they are able to do, and I left the salon today feeling like a princess with this set. I've been doing acrylics for about 3 years now because I have very small natural nails. I'm usually so picky with what nails i really like and how much I'm going to spend on them, but these look just amazing. The service is great, super chill environment, and every employee is super helpful and easy to talk to. Definitely will be my go to salon until I graduate from FSU. Ignore my red cuticles, they kind of get like that the first day but it goes away very quickly! read more

Unfortunately, this establishment is one of the most u professional I have ever dealt with. I have come 3 times; each time my nails look beautiful, but it's not worth what you put up with. Appointments are never honored, and you'll most likely be sitting waiting to be helped an hour or more after your appointment time. COVID has rendered this establishment useless. They have different hours posted on Instagram, Facebook, and Google, yet none of them are correct. I had to call 12 times in 2 hours just to speak with someone. I reserved an appointment on Facebook and was told they won't honor it because they don't check Facebook.... Are you kidding me? Don't set up a system to make appointments if you're not going to honor them. I had an extremely unpleasant phone call with Sarah. She interrupted me during every sentence and ended up raising her voice at me despite remaining calm on my end. Avoid this place if you value professionalism and decent human respect. UPDATE: just received a call back from the owner/manager regarding what I experienced and was hung up on. I am absolutely stunned by the way this business is being ran. I will never be coming here again. read more

This is one of the best nail shops I've been here in Tallahassee! They are quick, clean, and well staffed. I came in an hour before they closed to get an ombré fill in. Once I walked in I was seated to a nail tech right away. Tammi was very nice and her work is 100% professional. Not only are the people are nice, so are the prices! I've been going to see Doug for a while now and he always does an awesome job. I've been getting gel polish on my natural nail and have not had any issues. On the off chance that the polish lifts a little bit (only happened twice out of maybe 20+ times), they are more than happy to fix it for free. I have had polish last for 5-6 weeks with no lifting. He always makes sure to ask if I like it every step of the way, from my cuticles, to the shape, to the polish and even again before I leave. I think the pricing is great as well. The staff is all very friendly and it's a very laid back and enjoyable environment. I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Love this place! I used to go to Pronails and they told me false information about what's good for my nails and had me paying extraaaaaaa money that i didn't meed to spend. THEN i found Urban Nails and i love them!!!! I went to Urban Nails today,to get an overdue pedicure and a new set of nails. I've finally found the perfect place. The young lady that did my nails was patient and very personable. I'd give her name but I'd like to keep that to myself. Everyone was great, loved the decor and the prices are truly on point. GREAT nail salon. Update: Seriously love this place, they are very well educated and actually care about the health of your nails. have had amazing nails done here before but after today I won't be going back. I got charged $50 for a fill and it was the absolute worst manicure I've ever had. my nails are lumpy, lopsided, and the design looks nothing like what I showed him. so overpriced for a FILL IN!!! read more

Omg this place is hidden but it's worth finding. They did such a good job on my nails (acrylics), they never came off. It's been a couple weeks and the nail guy made sure to help me pick a color that would blend in with my cuticles because I told him I don't get my nails done often. It was overall a great experience and I'll definitely be back when I get some money lol read more

Terrible experience... I'm appalled by the good reviews. I went in for an acrylic full set & a pedicure. Nothing crazy, yet I was at the salon for 3 and a half hours. I wasted my day on sub par service. My nails came out terrible -- it seemed like it was the first time my nail tech has done acrylics. Filing my nails took him about an hour to get the shape done. I mean this guy had no idea how to file and create a shape, I could've done a better job doing it myself. All my nails are a different length and uneven. I asked for a sharp coffin shape and I got a clumpy square shape on each nail. I can't emphasize enough how bad this guy was at doing nails. I'm going out of town tomorrow and I'm just extremely disappointed. My toes came out fine, but the pedicure service was sub par as well, compared to other salons in town. It was not a relaxing experience at all. I've heard great things about Urban Nails and I'm so disappointed with the entire experience. At the end of the service I didn't bother telling my nail tech about the things I would like fixed -- he took so long to complete my nails that by the time he was done, I was ready to get OUT OF THERE! Avoid this salon. read more

I called to make an appointment and told them two different times. They told me to come at the earlier time, which I not only did but I showed up 15 minutes early. When I showed up for my appointment there was a long line and I was told to wash my hands and pick a color. I was not told how long the wait would be but I decided to stay. After waiting for an hour without any information I finally decided to leave after a woman entered the salon and was seated immediately because "she had an appointment" I am extremely disappointed in urban nails and the lack of information given and the fact they told me to come at a time when they knew how busy they would be. It seems like making an appointment with them is a waste of time. read more

I usually don't leave reviews for stuff but my experience here was not good. I came as a walk in. I came to get a pedicure w/ a full set of SNS w/ tips. T's/Tee's brother was supposed to do my nails but was working on a car outside and had me waiting about 30 minutes before he started. I didn't mind waiting because I was a walk-in but even the other nail techs told him that he took too long!! Then he made a racially insensitive/stereotype "joke" (he stained my finger tips BADLY with the white dip powder and said I "ate some fried chicken beforehand" so that was why they were white...). In reality, he just didn't wipe off the powder between each dip. He left halfway through my nails and had his sister T/Tee finish. T/Tee told him that my finger tips were too stained. Nails didn't even look good after two days... My pointer finger nail on my right hand broke less than 24 hours after getting them done. I definitely wouldn't recommend. They don't even put liners in the tubs while doing pedicures...that's not sanitary...I paid $100 ($75 + tip (tip is split between three people)) for broken nails after a day...The rest of my nails broke or cracked the next week. Don't go here if you want long lasting nails and a hygienic pedicure...You won't get it at Urban Nails. read more

This place had a such a high rating but I'm very disappointed in the service . I made appointment for the very first time for this place and they did a very bad job on my nails ! The technician just did not know what he was doing . Even after I told him what I want still did not even come close what I wanted . I finally told him not to finish my nails and let me just pay for the pedicure . They charged me the full amount for a set for my nails which was not even done !!! This was very upsetting to me and even the owner or manager whatever she was did not offer for me not to pay for the full set . This is not about the money it's about service that I paid for , and I will not go back to this place ever again or I recommend this place to anyone . $ 95 dollars for nothing !!! Love!!! I really loved my experience at Urban Nails, it is pretty busy so I would make an appointment to avoid a long wait time but everyone was very courteous and attentive. When I entered the business, I was brightly greeted by their amazing front desk associate. She was kind and professional. I happen to ask how long they've been in business and was not surprised to find out it was 19 years. You can really tell when a business care for their employees and their well being. I really wish I had started my waxing experience here. The wax or method they use is fast, effective and pretty much painless. I left happy and with a wonderful face scrub and was happy that I found a new home for waxing. It feels absolutely luxurious and spa like. I went home and booked a brazilian for the next day. The usual dread of certain areas that are usually very painful were unperceived by the conversation. My surprise at how efficient and fast my wax was left me beyond grateful and knowing I'd found a new go-to place. Jamiaiya wound up attending me as I had chosen the first available person. She was very sweet and she had the magic touch. Very gentle. I nearly didn't feel a thing. Only reason I even felt a glimpse of pain for my upper lip was because it had been too long, but believe me, I've been doing this for years, and Jamiaya was amazing. I have been coming here since 2015 when I first got to college. Doug, tree, tea and everyone else are always so so amazing. They always do a good job and I'm always beyond satisfied. They really completely go above and beyond always asking if you want anything like water. I'll be sad the day I leave Tallahassee and can't keep coming to them. They have completely gone above and beyond and it was proven that they do EVERYTHING with because they care. My dad accidentally left his keys and we didn't realize until late at night. I messaged them at ONE IN THE MORNING AND THEY CAME OUT AND FOUND IT. Seriously these people care, they're great. Come here and if you don't, you're just wasting your money anywhere else. read more

Went to get my nails done before formal here, was my first time! it was crazy busy obviously but they were very attentive and even through the busyness they always had someone helping me in some way. I had an issue with my dip polish popping off after a few days (which is not their fault, it was probably a bad powder) and i went in to get it fixed, and they took it off and replaced it for free!! everyone the works there is so nice and the manager is awesome! hes on a first name basis with some customers! read more

I absolutely LOVE urban! A friend recommended them to me 2 years ago and I have been going ever since. I have never had a bad experience, i've had many different nail techs and have never been disappointed. They always do what YOU want and never force you to "make them longer" or "get a different design" like some other places. The minute I walked in, immediate greet. The nail techs there are superb. They know how to "snatch" my nails the way I like them. I love the price, but unfortunately I don't have time to keep going back to a nail facility if the polish is not gonna last.

Understandable, it happens but I had to take the time to call & get a walk in appointment, which thankfully they did! :) Only a 20 min wait & my mail tech fixed it. Unfortunately, over the course of 2 days, 4 more of my nails completely snapped off doing normal activities. They don't accept refunds, only offer repairs. The people here are very kind & the ambiance is clean and professional! But the quality was not there. I paid $80 for poor quality that didn't even last a day. I was visiting Tallahassee & live 5 hours away therefore coming back for repairs after the first 2 visits I made to attempt to reinforce my nails would be out of the question. Very disappointed I spent almost $100 & have had to remove what was left so I can get them redone here locally.... Would not recommend :(

For instance, despite previously paying $45 for a full set dip powder, I was charged the same amount for a fill-in just eight days later. Immediately, I asked Dawn why am I paying $45 for a fill in, when a brand new set was $45? She was puzzled. She started stuttering and said it's because my nails are short, which doesn't make any sense. When I requested to speak with a manager about this discrepancy, I was met with refusal and further unhelpful behavior. I strongly recommend choosing a salon that transparently lists their prices, as this is standard practice and ensures fair treatment for customers. Majority of the places around here list their prices, don't let anyone tell you it's normal not to.

My husband got a pedicure as well. As we were leaving he was looking for the older lady that had done his pedicure, in order to give her a tip. One of the other employees was gracious enough to get her. My husband hands her the money and says, "...Thank you, ma'am." She takes the money from him as if annoyed that she had to walk from the back to get her tip and turned around and walked immediately to the back once more. When we got home, I noticed that two of my nails were already peeling. The next day, I called this establishment and said that I was there the previous night and my gel was already peeling. I wanted to come back in to have it fixed. The girl who answered the phone was very polite and said I could come back and they'd fix it. When I get there a different lady starts on my nails (I assume she's the own/boss by the way she was talking to the other employees). I show her that now three of my nails have gel that is either peeling or lifting. Instead of removing the gel, she simply paints over it!!! While she does this "patch job" she's engaged in a somewhat feisty conversation with the older lady that snatched the tip money from my husband the previous night. A day later, my nails are peeling again. I spent almost $140 there; only for my husband to be treated rudely and for my nails to look like trash. I will not return.
