Oh how I LOVE Ulta. It's such a trap for makeup lovers and girly girls!! Lol. I need sincere time to look around. There are so many brands. I won't lie, I get a little overwhelmed. But so what. Lol. The staff is friendly and helpful. Alexandera was so nice and informative. She works for Smashbox cosmetics, but even helped me with other brands. 5 stars for her service!! There are perfumes and colognes, which I definitely come here if I want to smell anything before purchasing it. There's testers for almost everything. So you can test out eye shadow, lipsticks, and etc. But if you purchase something your not happy with, they'll let you return it. I love that. I brought Fenty lipstick which I thought I'd love, but on my lips it wasn't all I thought it would be. For $30 I wanted to be happy... I had been searching for a bright fiery red lipstick forever, so I thought I had found it. But unfortunately it was darker than I expected and it said no transfer. But it absolutely wasn't. I smoke cigarettes so I want matte lipstick that stays on all day. Otherwise I'll have lipstick everywhere but my lips. They refunded me with no issues. There's a clearance section in the back, which I always have to check out. Juvias place is one of my favorite brands because their popping eye shadows are so sparkly and pretty!! Some things are lower prices but others are expensive, so know your budget and have a plan unless you're bad and bougie with the dinero to back it up. Lol. I love this store because I'm love with perfume! They always have great deals and someone willing to help you! Yesterday Saturday, I did a pick up order to get my husband some cologne! I did a curbside pickup but waited over 20mins! I ended up going inside to let them I was waiting and was told my check in didn't arrive until I came in the store! The staff here is very rude, on my last trip one of their employees was rude and gave me attitude for no reason then this time I went to return something and my child was with me and I noticed that same employee, but had no interaction with her, however my child pointed out that she was giving me awful stares and that for me is the last straw like how obviously rude do they have to be that even a child can pick up on it. What's crazier is when I walked in another employee was already apologizing to another customer for using a rude tone. I will no longer shop at this specific store. read more

I'm not the customer but my daughter is. She regularly gets her hair cut at Ulta and has been very satisfied. The store is one of I think three on the Southside. This location is in Town Center. Business is extremely good at this strip and parking can be atrocious! My daughter schedules her appointment online. I take her in and usually they are ready. A few times they called to move her appointment if someone called out etc. The salon is in the rear. The store is very bright, light and modern. Every type of beauty need a woman could ever want is within the four walls. I have found their displays eye catching and shelves clean. My daughter recently had a hair cut and was pleased. Prices are what you would expect, not chain hair cut $9.99. There has not been a time a cut had been on sale or a coupon provided. I found the beautician friendly. Payment is up front at the register and you can tip there. I'm sure we will be back in 90 days. read more

6/3/22: First time here. I usually avoid this store because I look at it as if it's just about makeup. My bad...it's clearly not. It was like a wonderland for all things cosmetic, hair, bath, etc. I was greeted upon entering which set the mood off right. It was bright and organized, BUT the white handheld baskets I picked up were ALL dirty and full of hair and other gross things. So, I chose the least grossest one. I went there specifically looking for Pattern hair care products & was met by a small display of it. As I kept walking, I bumped into a huge display of their products. Lordy be, I had no clue it costed so much. I have natural hair & I've read nothing but good things, so I splurged. That place has nearly everything you could ever imagine in there and then some. When I got to the register, my total was $164. GEEZ LOUISE!!! The cashier was nice and said that I could look up a coupon. Their site has some weird $3 off coupon AND they only took off $2.xx? Like, really??? I see now that you can't shop here on the regular without coupons. So, now I have tried the products, like them, but feel guilty about buying $25 hair OIL & $9 minis. I will be returning most of this. LOL! They are so slick. They have the oddest things hidden in the nooks and cranny's of their store so that you make sure you pick up yet one more thing you don't need. I won't say I don't recommend this place. Well...I love this store, it has such a variety of products and everything is so well stocked...except cashiers... there were two wonderful sales associates on the floor to help me with my skin needs. They were cheerful and sweet. We discussed how bad some skin products, like Tula, smell. I ended up buying way too much because their clearance isle had so many goodies. Tons on sale for a couple bucks. Yikes! Then for my extra sensitive skin lotion...At $20 for a bottle of Cerave lotion, it's kinda pricey but worth it. Checking out was the only con. Now bear in mind there was only one person checking out in front of me. There were four associates behind the checkout. After about ten minutes, the only other patron behind me went up and asked, "is there anyone to check us out?" Of course I chuckled to myself because I wasn't really in a hurry. Ulta Rewards ( shopping and saving) 4. Employees that love beauty On my most recent purchase I picked up a Dior fragrance. I went in for Good Girl from Carolina H. but was greeted by the familiar bottle from Dior and couldn't resist. Good thing too, because Dior fragrances purchases would earn me 5x the points on dollar. As I mentioned Ulta rewards are poppin. I already had enough points to receive $12 on my current purchase and I left the store with enough points for $6 off a future purchase. A steal if you ask me. I shop at Ulta for a good amount of my beauty products. They have great selection of products made with all natural ingredients, many of your favorite high end make-up, hair and skin care brands. Though I've had a sour visit here before, this visit was a lot better. I picked up a blue mascara to try and the cashier actually offered up a different brand that she had tried and though that was better with a cheaper price attached. She gave directions to find it, but I asked another employee along the way that said they didn't have it. Went back to the cashier just for her to go and find it for me! Turns out the other employee was new. Would suggest new employees have a go to mentor or something before just telling people no without really searching. My receipt says Dyneshia but her name tag said Nicole; whoever you are, thank you! Love when employees can suggest things and are somewhat looking out for your best interest. Like a homing beacon, this store attracts every health and beauty shopper for miles, especially during Christmas. Their shared parking lot was completely full tonight with dozens of extra cars circling/hovering. My wife and I had to park in a city garage 1 block away across the street. She, along with my daughters, like this store. Me? From the moment I arrived, I was out of my element. Interior is pretty big and packed full of products that I know nothing about. Several employees around to "assist" (upsell) pour souls like me. I may not buy a ton of this stuff but I thought prices were quite lofty. Circular Conair lighted primp/makeup mirror: Ulta $79, Amazon $35. Perhaps you get what you pay for? Still, someone with a $15 gift card may be hard pressed to find even 1 thing, thus upping my purchase to a $30 gc. Space between aisles is tight in some places, especially near the long checkout line and in areas where popup makeup classes/demos are happening. Gender specific restrooms are in back of the store behind the style stations. Men's was a little untidy but I've definitely seen (and smelled) worse. read more

Jamie, the sales manager was so kind and helpful! Right when my boyfriend and I walked through the door she asked if we needed any assistance. I told her that I was looking for a face wash that treats cystic acne but also isn't drying. She showed us the dermatologica brand products and explained how three products would likely be helpful. She shared that the products she recommended she used herself and they helped clear her skin which had the same challenges I currently have. She even showed pictures of her skin before using the products and shared her past struggles with acne. I really appreciate that. I hope the products work as well for me as they do for her. But regardless, it was a great experience in the store because of her care and excellent customer service! read more

Large variety of beauty products: skin, hair, make up, tan, parfums, bath, etc. Today I discovered the industry is moving for better offering more lines of vegan, parfum free, paraben free... products. Thanks to Ulta team, they guide and informed me about the selection of products I needed and wish to be using, but did not known where to start. I discovered as well a new customer policy, products can be tested for 60 days!! I never heard about that and it is clearly an step further because who knows if a beauty product works for you if you don't try it for some period of time to see the real results, right? Josh the stylist at town center is amazing!! Every time he does my hair I leave feeling like I just hung out with a bestfriend, and not only that, but my hair and bangs look amazing too! Josh has done so good with my bangs that I don't even have to style them, I can just vigorously rub a towel on them and then comb them with my fingers and they look GREAT!! Micellar water and scalp massager. This store has the same combs as my empire beauty school kit bag so I know where to come to find more and they are only like $3! I sat there for about ten minutes, and no one came out. One of the employees was staring at me from the window, but she never came out. Finally, I went in and told the girl at the front checkout. I had a gift card that I hadn't used so my mom and I came into Ulta after a trip the movies just to browse. We somehow ended up looking at concealers & I remembered one that my cousin suggested. Myself nor my mom are makeup experts..honestly, neither of us wear much makeup. Usually when you come into places like this, the employees don't really like to assist people like us but Vianca didn't make us feel like that at all. She helped my mom find the correct shade for her skin color. She was super friendly and invited us to let us know if we needed anymore help. When we finished picking the items we wanted to purchase, Vianca rang us up. She was super patient while I dug through my bag trying to find my gift card. This is a makeup lover's dream. Ulta has everything you need from makeup, nail and skincare, perfume, cologne, and haircare products. As with all Ulta locations, it has a salon. I usually go to the Landstown location, but I was close to Town Center. I prefer Landstown because it's easier to park and the lines are more organized. This location is always BUSY and parking can be a headache. I made sure stopping by here would be an in-and-out mission (which is a hard feat every time I shop here). I had a coupon for 20% and knew what I would be picking up. That was until I noticed there was a section for Estee Lauder! It's not often you can use a coupon on prestige brands, so I had to take advantage of it. I spoke with the consultant Ashleigh and she was very helpful in getting what I needed. Once that was done, I did a quick walk-through of the store (every once in a while there's a good find in the clearance section)! This store is the only one that sell Mac and Estee Lauder products, maybe that's why this store is busier! read more

It's much smaller (or appears that way due to the layout of the store) than the one over at Landstown but it serves the purpose. They have the normal brands you'd expect: Benefit, Philosophy, Clinque, etc. read more

This is a nice location and the shopping center it is located in isn't too crowded. It is near the Barnes & Noble in the VA Beach Town Center. It was clean when I visited and the employee I encountered at the register, Elizabeth, was very nice! It can seem very overwhelming in a store like this because there are so many employees for each specialty area in the store, but don't be afraid to ask a question or see what they recommend. So this is my heaven. Cue angels, bright lights, and shining sparkly trumpets! Hair stuff, check. Makeup stuff, check. Skin care stuff, check. Smell good stuff, check. Cheap stuff, check. Expensive stuff that you can only buy with gift cards when on sale, check. Oh, you said you need a hairpiece? Check that, too, boo. I mean, a beauty freak's go-to haven. The staff here always seem to be different every time I come in but they all have a couple things in common: they know makeup, they are super talkative and friendly, and they know when to help you and when to leave you be. Love that. There's a salon towards the back where you can get your hair did. I've never taken advantage of that particular service but it's good to know it's there if I ever need something done. I don't even know the prices but I'm willing to bet it's pretty competitive with other name brand salons. read more

This is my second time coming here to get my hair done. I was absolutely in love with my hair and my stylist was so welcoming. Once again, I came here and they were super friendly and were able to fit me into their schedule really quickly. My stylist listened to what I wanted and did her best to fulfill my expectations. I think she did well but my first stylist was definitely better and the second time around it did come out with an orange-greyish tint; however, I will be back because their services are awesome and we were on a time crunch so that may factor into the coloring of my hair. :) p.s i have Asian hair so it tends to come out orange when lightened if not careful read more

I went there two days ago on a Saturday and asked when the items would be restocked. Two employees have me the same answer... "we just received a shipment and the items should be out by Monday." I'm thinking, cool, I'll just stop by after work. Well guess what the shelves are still empty and bare. And now the deal is not advertised! I ask a sales associate about the items that were supposed to be restocked and her reply is, "they just received shipment, so it should be out in a couple of days." I gave this place 3 stars, instead of 5 stars because of my experience earlier today. I've been coming to ulta for a while now, and I love taking advantages of their coupons/deals. I went into the store with my boyfriend to buy hair product, and I always use a coupon (3.50 off 10) along with it. I also grabbed a few little things they had on sale, and went to pay. When the cashier rang everything up, I proceeded to try and give her my coupon. She immediately cut me off before I even had the chance to hand it to her, rudely saying that I couldn't use it. I politely pointed out that I wasn't using it on my products, but on my boyfriends hair product. She said that it wasn't going to work, but I asked if she could try. She put in the code, and of course it had worked! She didn't even apologize or anything! Then, I asked her if I could redeem my rewards, and again had an attitude. After putting in what she had to, she rudely said "there you go, that's your total"! My advice for you is to make sure that you're able to use the coupon. There's always a list of products that you can't use it on, and always read the fine print. Also, you can politely ask why you're not able to use the coupon. It just saddens me to think that other people could have possibly lost the opportunity to use the deal, because of rude employees such as the one we had today. $3.50 off the purchase is a good amount of money to be saved. read more

I came in a couple weeks ago to buy a hair set. I've been shopping at Sephora much more, but this set was Ulta exclusive. I was greeted right away, found the set, and continued to browse the store. The reason for the two stars is the workers in the makeup department. The Benefit girl followed me around like I was going to fill my barely existing pockets. 'Oh, do you want to buy something now, or are you still just looking?'. I had the hair set in hand, clearly I was buying something. This happened a couple times, with her looking over the shelves at me and pretending to organize testers. I found an Ulta exclusive Becca palette I wanted and left. From now on, my money will continue to go to the Sephora at Lynnhaven mall. If there's another UltA exclusive set I want, I'll go to a different location. read more
