I have been to a few other Ulta's but I have to say that this is my fave. The store is always very clean and organized. The girls are all very friendly and knowledgable. By far one of my favorite stores. I spend way more money in here then anywhere else probably. I am obsessed with make-up and before Ulta came to RI I had to buy all my high end make up online because nowhere else around me sold it in the store. The prices are very fair on everything from make up to hair to perfume etc. I love how its a one stop shop for all my beauty needs. Also the rewards program always has me coming back and wanting to spend more so I get my little pamphlet of options for a free item. I could spend hours in here. Usually if I go in for a few things I end up with a bag full of stuff because I can't help myself around all the temptation!! I love makeup. I love buying makeup. I love looking at makeup. This all leads me to my absolute love for Ulta. It is literally makeup heaven. Whatever you are looking for, from shampoo, to tweezers, to cotton balls, to mascara... they have it all. They carry all the brands you can find at CVS or Wal-Mart, but also carry some other brands you won't find at your local CVS. Ulta has helped me discover my true love for Too-Face cosmetics, but that's a whole other story. The store is pretty easy to navigate and find what you are looking for and if you can't staff are always around to help you out. Bought something and didn't like it? 3rd time going to this Ulta, and it was the first time anyone greeted me or asked if I needed help. They were out of 3 of the 5 items I went in for. To top it off, I asked one of the associates for help in finding an item. Without even looking at me, she told me she didn't think the brand made a lip gloss in that color. I politely informed her that they do, and this went back and forth as she rudely continued to insist that they did not make it or that I was mistaken until I took out my phone and showed it to her on Ulta's own website. She did try to see if it was elsewhere in the store, which it wasn't, but never offered me an apology for treating me like I knew nothing. I left the store and ordered from Ulta's site in my car. I love this place. The employees are always very sweet. The store is organized well and I know my way around like the back of my hand. I just hate that every single time I come for my brow pencil it's sold out. How my freaking girls in the area need Espresso brows. This inconvenience always forces me to try new products though. The service is just never been worse. Ulta always takes manufacture's coupons with there own coupon combined. when I came to the counter the cashier scanned the ulta coupon first, then when I gave her my manufacture's coupon she cancelled the Ulta one, put it away and processed transaction. when I asked why the price wasn't right she gave me the theory that one cancelled another one out by itself in the computer, because it wasn't enough money for it to go through. Well I've done it so many times and it never worked the way it did. When you have 5 of 15 all you need is to go over 15, and then use the Ulta coupon and manufacture's coupon. Apparently it didn't work :) They used to combine with no problem, but I guess not at this location. So after I returned the items she couldn't even give me the coupon back. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with my purchase. I made a purchase at this store, with my credit card instead of using my gift card, so I asked the cashier for a refund. She was very helpful and stated that she would refund my credit card so that I could use the payment method I originally intended on using which was the gift card. The day this happen was on February 16, 2020, and the refund never went through on my credit card, however the points for this purchase were immediately removed from my account. When I contacted the story about this situation, they refereed me to contact cooperate. After twenty two emails later this company has failed to resolve the situation and they have apologized numerous times. I have been told multiple time that they are escalating the situation, however this has resulted in no clear resolution.I took all the necessary steps on my part to ensure the money would be refund, including sending my monthly bank statements where it shows I was charged twice. I have called multiple times and have sent multiple emails which has not been beneficial in resolving this situation. Customer service appears to not be a priority of this company. Clearly this is an issue on their part and I assumed they would acknowledge this and send me a refund in the amount of $143.92. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation is being handled. read more

I love Ulta. I wish the cosmetic section didn't look like a tornado swept through it though, I'm only referring to the section where you can find a lot of the "drug store" brands, etc. I feel like almost anything I want from that particular area, is never in stock. read more

Ulta is, in my opinion, an ahhh-mazing place. It truely is a beauty destination in that you can get everything you could ever need to make yourself the best possible version of you. Whats great is that they don't just carry everything, they have awesome perks. Take their Beauty Club card for example. As long as you are signed up ( you get a card when you sign up in store but not when you sign up online) you receive their weekly flyer which always has a coupon and you get exclusive members only rewards. The members only rewards include periodic 15-20% off coupons that you can use on products that are normally excluded from the coupons (fragrance, prestige cosmetics and prestige skincare.) When you get this coupon, you should be using it on that fragrance you've been dying to have, your favorite high end cosmetics and skincare, a new hair dryer or straightener if you need it and anything else you always use. These coupons usually come out when there are really good sales going on as well, so you get an excellent price on many items. Many of my friends have mentioned that they can never use the coupons on their fave high-end goodies so why bother with the card. In this instance, I cant help but laugh. Not only does using your card get you those rare coupons you can use on those items, but for every $50 you spend at Ulta, you level up. There are 6 reward levels and your free gift can range from a free NYX lip color[level 1] to a free fragrance [level 6], it actually covers up to $40 of the fragrance in which case you would cover the difference in price. With those kind of rewards how can you go wrong? As far as coupon errors are concerned, sometimes it happens, if you go back and inquire about it with a manager or head cashier they can help resolve whatever the issue is. In my experience I've gone in on the first day of a sale and the computer doesn't ring the correct advertised price, this is not the fault of the cashier, but if you let her know she can fix it for you, sometimes it takes a little while but from what I understand it's because the update has not gone through the computer system just yet and they have to find a way to accurately adjust the price. Perhaps my favorite thing is their customer service. There are some excellent ladies there who really know their products. Renee (I believe is her name) knows the prestige cosmetics and skincare in and out. The stylists in the salon are usually present and can answer many of your hair concerns and direct you to the products that best fit your needs. If you need any help with hair appliances or accessories, this really nice girl, Ashley knows a TON about all they have to offer and has directed me to the best hair dryer, straightener and hair brush I have ever used. I have run into a sour employee once or twice but that is very rare, and to be honest they seem to be weeded out of the staff pretty quickly. Regardless of those few less than wonderful employees I have been a loyal Ulta shopper since they opened their Warwick location and don't see that changing anytime soon. read more

I had a little extra cash in my hands so I decided to treat myself to some items at Ulta that I wanted and needed. Usually in this store, associates are very helpful and receptive to guests. No one approached me which is fine, it wasn't very busy but I understand it has recently reopened and they need to keep the shelves stocked. However, when it was time to check out, 2/3 of the checkout stations were occupied and there was a third employee just staring at me in line. It would've been nice to have gotten something along the lines of an "I'll be with you in a moment". When one of the other cashiers finished with that another guest, she walked away from the register and the employee who was ignoring me in line (rainbow hair guy) stepped in to cash me out. I understand you're young, you might be new in customer service but please learn some customer service skills. After I dropped almost $100 I saw the look that you gave your coworker like yikes look at this girl. News flash my money is just as good as anyone else's. I wish I could give this store a zero rating. I was just at the Ulta in Warwick this afternoon. This was my first and last visit. As I walked into one associate handed the woman in front of me a shopping bag and immediate seemed busy organizing the table next to her. I walked pass her, she greeted me but did not offer a shopping bag. I spent nearly 10 minuted walking around the store and not one single associate offered help. They could clearly see that I was looking for something. One of the associate looked at me, smiled and looked the other way. ulta is ulta... a good place if you want most of your beauty needs met inside of one store. in terms of this particular location: i have never used the salon, so can't comment on that. the service is pretty horrible; i have never been greeted hello or offered any help, despite the fact that there was a herd of workers just chatting amongst each other. a lot of the products i look for are out of stock, or at least not on the floor. the actual size of this ulta is on the smaller side compared to the others i've been to. read more

Ulta is definitely the place to go if you plan on really girling out for a little while. They have a really large selection of products from brands you would find at CVS or Target as well as a good selection of some higher end cosmetics like Benefit, Stila, Smashbox, Bare Escentuals, etc. If you are looking for a specific product from the more common brands I would recommend checking to see if Target has it at a cheaper price, if not you'll probably find it at Ulta. For the higher end makeup Sephora definitely has more in store. For example I was really interested in getting a new lipstick, the last one I bought was Smashbox at Sephora so I thought I would peruse while I was in Ulta today and they did not have nearly as many shades as Sephora in Providence Place did. It ends up being kind of a give and take. OH! and their nail polish selection is prime! So many brands and colors. You WILL find the shade you are looking for. read more

My fabulous hairdresser is at Ulta Salon. I absolutely love the way my hair looks and feels and it is all because of my amazing stylist Donna Pena. She is by far the best stylist I have ever gone to. I am a mature woman and have tried many, many hairdressers over the years. Donna is absolutely the best out there. She is the embodiment of what a hairstylist should be, knowledgeable and stylish with a warm, engaging personality who truly takes pride in her work and puts her clients first. I have received so many compliments since I started going to Donna. My hair was a dull gray brown with an aging style. She transformed my hair into a glossy brown with caramel and blond foils. I feel and look 10 years younger. She updated my style and everyone has complimented me on my hair. I am so glad I found her. My daughter loved my hair so much that she now loves her hair as much as I love mine. She is an absolute asset to Ulta which is evident not only to me when I am in her chair but by the many others there who seek her out because they trust her opinion and value her judgment. Chelsea is FANTASTIC!!!! She's great in being able to know what's going to look good when giving a consult. I have had both a good and a not so great experience in Ulta. About 6 months ago my daughter and I went so I could treat her to some new make-up and supplies before she shipped off to college. The young woman who helped my daugher was so nice & knowledgeable. As almost everybody else has already mentioned, we've shopped in Sephora before and thought this would save us the trip, although i have ordered from sephora online and have been very happy. When we told the saleswoman what my daughter needed, she gathered up all the make-up, brushes she thought would be good and offered to try them out on my daughter. now, i know the drill in these places, they do that so you'll buy it, but I didn't mind because we went in to purchase anyway and figured at least my daughter would get a make-over. But she didn't push us to purchase anything and she never mentioned that there was a charge for the application, and there wasn't. We did end up spending about $300.00 between make-up and brushes, and we also received some nice free samples/gifts. So my daughter walked out looking beautiful, I was happy if a little poorer. Well, I went back for myself right before xmas to basically do the same thing, buy some new make-up and brushes and hopefully have someone apply them for me so i could not only make sure i was getting the right products and shades for me but also to get a little tutorial on application like the girl had done for my daughter. The store was not busy at all as it was middle of a weekday, yet the sales girl acted as if i was keeping her from something else. i stated right from the start that i was here to purchase, yet everytime i asked her how this would look, she kinda acted like she didn't want to apply it. Finally i said i wanted to purchase the $50.00 urban decay eye shadow pallette for my daughter for xmas but could she apply it to my eyes so i could see how they were and she told me that she couldn't do that as it would then be a make over and i would have to pay $30.00. i wasn't too happy with this but figured i would treat myself and she said it would include doing my whole face. When i went to pay, again my purchases came to about $300.00 (don't tell my husband lol) what really got my goat was the cashier says to me how much would i like to give as a tip for the makeover? Now, of course, there were people behind me and i didn't want to look like a cheapskate or even at this point ask why i was even being charged for a make over when that hadn't happend with my daughter, but i just said $3.00 (which i know is not even 15% but i was so upset). When i got out to the car, i checked the receipt and the bag and realized i hadn't even been given one lousy thing as a free gift/sample for all the money i spent. The whole thing just left a sour taste in my mouth as far as really being thrilled to shop there again. i know i probably will, but i won't spend that kind of money again and i won't pay for another make over. I guess it all depends on who you get to help you as the girl i had really didn't seem to have the personality to work in a store like that, where lets face it, they are trying to push this expensive stuff on you. which, i don't mind if its done with a smile. read more
