I typically request an appointment online and despite doing so unless it is early in the morning the appointment always runs much longer than necessary due to how busy they are. I'm not sure if it is due to overbooking or just allowing too many walk-ins, but I have definitely had to wait over 20 minutes for an appointment I made in advanced which is unacceptable. Charming nail is one of the only salons in the area which offers dazzle dry, but the consistency of the service is all over the place. Some technicians follow the dazzle dry procedures perfectly which results in a long lasting manicure, but others don't and my nails chip less than 24 hours after being done. This is frustrating when I'm spending $30 plus tip for something that doesn't last. Especially when I'm getting nails done for a special event. Overall the vibe of the salon is good and the people are nice, but I do hope this lapse in recent service rectifies itself so that I can feel confident in going back.

Didn't over cut my cuticles and was relatively quick. Unfortunately under a week later it's already chipping and peeling and looks SO sloppy. This never happens when I get manicures at my usual salon, especially well before the 2 week mark. I expect a properly done gel manicure to last 2 weeks. 6 days is just not acceptable for that service and now it looks awful. My sister came with me and also got a gel mani with another service provider and hers is actually now worse than mine. It's completely peeled off about 50% of the nails and needs to be removed or re-done. I unfortunately won't be back and I know my sister won't either. Disappointing.

I noted that before embarking on her uncomfortable stare down, she was whispering with the employee. Of course I don't know what was said but whatever it was most certainly prompted the stare down. When my nail technician did finally appear, I guess he had overheard what transpired but elected not to chime in, informing his over zealous colleague that I did indeed have an appointment and I wasn't just sitting there awaiting the right moment to rob the place. In retrospect, I feel that if he had simply spoke up, that uncomfortable situation could have been avoided. Once he started doing my nails, he launched into this extremely awkward dialogue about how his colleague didn't recognize me and thought I was someone who wandered in off the street without an appointment. He also mentioned my attire and how they aren't accustomed to seeing me dressed that way. REALLY!!! It took me a while to fully grasp what I believe took place. I think this nail salon to be a place where only a certain type of people are welcome and anyone deemed different is not welcome and as if the staff were not unwelcoming enough, even the impolite customers who sit and stare unceasingly are odd and impolite. This is an unfriendly and unwelcoming place and I am not okay with their behavior. Not once during my handful of appointments was I even greeted when I walked in the door. On top of all of the above, they really aren't that skillful in the business of nails.

I tried voicing my concerns to Paul as he was doing my nails, but he didn't want to LISTEN and just kept making excuses as to why they looked the way they looked. Nail techs are supposed to LISTEN and do their BEST to accommodate the customer's needs. I've never had a nail tech be so adamant in not wanting to listen to my concerns and just continue to do what he thinks looks good. I've never been so unhappy with my nails. At my last visit it only lasted about 1.5 minutes per foot so I got gypped but on other visits it's been great. The quality of color application is always very professional and they keep my feet looking great. There were about 9-10 chairs for pedicures and 9 tables for manis. The walls are painted a pale blue. No real theme in their decor. The chairs are cool. Service The hostess was friendly at first but quick to dismiss me. She gave me answer and she was already asking someone behind me what they needed. Umm, what if I had a follow up question? They let me soak for 15 minutes before Kelly came by. Kelly did a great job on the cuticles and the massage, but not so great with the heel. I wanted her to get all in there with that grater tool. I didn't even see her take it out. The customer next to me had the grater done. Weird. Kelly then painted one toe and asked if I was happy with the color. I was and I was glad she asked. Then she dipped a brush into a cup of alcohol to clean off any mistakes. Mani Kelly said very little to me. I'm fact I wouldn't call her friendly. The job was done well. Fast forward four weeks. It would turn out it was a person related to a tech at the salon. The owner of HUSH became aware of the situation quickly. I updated my reviews on Facebook, Google, and Yelp to show the harassment I had been receiving. They reached out an expertly apologized and gave their assurances that not only would they use this opportunity in an ongoing mission to improve themselves as a business, but also retaliatory nonsense.
