I don't recommend getting a pedicure here. I came after work for a pedicure and they got us in quick. Very friendly but they were pushing me to get gel for my daughter's mani pedi. I told them no multiple times. Pushed so much i ended up okaying gel on her nails. For my pedicure i got gel. Picked the same green color as my daughters. My toenails were all different shapes and sizes. While i was looking at them the lady rushed me to put the paraffin wax on my feet. Once they were done the color was very splotchy, nails were slanted not straight, and gel paint was all over my skin. I asked nicely to make them straight but the lady was not understanding me and saying they were straight. They offered to fix but at that point it was too late and i had to get going. I called to get them fixed the next day because the gel polish was literally getting stuck on my socks. I came back to get them redone i asked to not cut at all because i like my toenails with a bit length. He ended up filing them down very short and the nails were still not straight. I had to file one myself because he couldn't get it straight. Color did look better but my toes literally hurt from being filed so much. One big toe is longer than the other and they're still not straight. Will not be coming back. read more

I always go to VIP nails for my acrylics, and try to book with Nina because she is a good listener and very talented. Yesterday, Nina was not available, so me and two friends went for manicures and pedicures and we all walked away disappointed for different reasons. First of all, my pedicure was incredibly painful. I was burned by scalding hot water, and then the lady doing my pedicure scrubbed me until I bled in multiple places. My nails also have cuts on basically every finger, which has never been an issue for me before. Both my friends and I were dissatisfied with the outcome of our manicures, as none of the women doing our nails listened to what we wanted. We got these mani-pedis in preparation for my big birthday trip in a few days and I'm really sad that I'm not only cut up, but left with sub-par nails. I don't understand how this is a fill, my nail beds are still there. The acyclic isn't brought up to my cuticle. All I asked for was short, square and chrome. Lady was hurting me so bad throughout the whole time, I kept explaining to her that. She ignored and continued. When I was done, she called next client. While I sat, I picked out a gel color that I wanted. Michael called me over to his station. I told him what color I wanted and he set everything up. I told him I wanted a shorter nail, something I can work with at work, and coffin-ish rounded shape. He was great! He did his thing and thankgoodness did not load up on the acrylic. I like mine to look more simple and natural without that acrylic budge when my nails grow. Overall, it was speedy nail session. A lot quicker than most salons that I've been to. Tons of pedi and mani chairs, very clean, big, and very relaxing. I am not a Woodland resident, but I am going to make this my go-to nail spot, because no other salon that I have been too has passed the Oz test, and neither should you! Leaving one star because I have to in order to leave this comment first things first I call to go in and get a soak off and full set they say they aren't busy to come in . After showing this lady 4 different pics all just to be told she could not do what I wanted I said "okay look why don't I just get a long coffin and I'll pick a gel color with no designs or stones at all ..?.." she said okay and then started to take my old set of nails off ( I had a set on before that had already been filled like 5 different times my real underneath was long) she first clipped them short then tried to use another nail to rip them off (f***ing hurt like hell) I was in pain and told her "it hurts !" Then I suggested soaking them off ‍(don't know why I'm telling this lady how to do her damn job and on top of everything I'm slowly but surely getting more and more upset ) she then says "okay " and get the stuff to soak it off .(FASTFORWARD) the filing omg the mf filing ..... I have no words for this lady besides why .... why even continue ? I'm over here waving and blowing on my damn nails and again me being me as she's doing my nails i lookup why is it burning it says something about a chemical reaction when they use to much primer with monomer. Since my previous review, I have been to another nail salon in Woodland and one in Davis. A ridiculously long story short, I have returned to having acrylic tips with gel for now. They are stronger than dip powder nails are. Dips are attractive because they're very thin, but they break easily, at least on me. I did return to VIP for another pedi (excellent - 5 stars) and for a manicure. I made an appointment with Nina this time, rather than just walking in and seeing whoever was available. Nina did my tips the old-fashioned tried-and-true way (brush that she used to apply the acrylic). The work she did was meticulous and turned out absolutely excellent. I will return to her for mani services again. If her work next time is as good as this time was, I'll give VIP 5 stars. (I will see only Nina at VIP for mani work; the other techs have given me very sloppy manicures. I did see a young guy with tattoos who looked to be doing an excellent mani, but I have not worked with him.) Oh- I will mention that the work I had done was a bit pricey. It took me awhile to find a nail spot in the greater Sacramento area, two years to be exact. I am so glad I found this spot. They have lots of chairs and staff, lots of options for services (I have only done nails but they have other stuff), and reasonable prices. I have yet to have a bad experience here, fingers crossed, and I have been visited at least 10 times. They have a stamp card for $12 off your 11th visit (it may be 12th, I can't recall) that is totally worth it. The pedicures are divine, I have to come here at least once a month to keep my feet looking pretty. The staff is friendly, efficient, and thorough. They don't try to up-sell you on anything. Also, they have cute kids chairs for children pedicures.
