They said they would be here between 8:00 and 10:00 and at 8:00 the doorbell rang. They had the new hot water heater installed, removed the old one and the area cleaner than when they arrived all before 10:30. Curtis walked me through the settings and operations as the old heater was from 20 years ago, and lots has changed over the years. He explained all the features and answered all my questions. I told him I didn't trust him to actually show up, not to mention that it took 2 weeks to hear back from him initially, and his reply was, "I don't want to hear it so go and hire someone else if you want". We hung up, and then he called me back and apologized, and asked if he could come by the next day and install our items. I said yes, just to get it done, and not have to go through the process all over again with someone new. One last thing - is it normal for a plumber to set your water heater to 137 degrees? They quoted that we needed all new duct work for thousands of dollars, which, fine, thank you for the info but we don't have 20K to get all new ducts. The problem: They took out our old filter in our furnace and threw it away. Forgot to let us know that, so we just were running it with no filter for 10+ days, which is pretty bad for the unit and our air quality throughout the home. It's also potentially a safety hazard to not have a filter...seems odd for a company that specializes in this to leave our unit worse off seeing as they came to "tune it up".
