We took our 5 series to Ultimate Auto Works today for a brake service. I saved $100 over the dealer - which is nice but not a huge savings. The reason to come here is for excellent service on your vehicle with a family-owned small business that cares about quality. Since I was waiting in their lobby while they worked on the car, they had me completed in less than 90 minutes. I don't think I could have asked for better service. I plan to own this car for quite a while, and I think these guys will help the car do well in the long run. read more

The owners here seem to be nice, honest people, (which can be hard to find), but they are choosy about the cars they work on. My 2007 BMW 328 has a few different issues, as is to be expected for a 16-year old vehicle with 170,000 on it. After a diagnostic visit, we discussed a major issue with the power steering system that I agreed to fix, but after putting me off twice saying they were "too busy" they essentially told me they don't want to work on the car. In 30 years of owning cars, I've never had a mechanic refuse to do the work. Plenty of other places in Phoenix will happily do the job. If you've got an older Beemer that needs something more than an easy (and profitable) fix, this isn't the place. read more

I have had 3 BMWs over two decades and Greg and his crew have serviced them all. I do a lot of the routine servicing myself but, when I get a bigger job, I take it to Greg and his team. They have never let me down. I recently overhauled my 2000 528 and there were a few items I could not resolve. Greg got them all fixed in a couple days, including alignment and the car drives like a new one. The alternator in my wife's X-5 detonated on us and Greg got the job done for $1000 less than the dealer wanted. Great bunch of people and honest service. I cannot endorse them more highly. Lets face it. No one loves taking their BMW's in for repairs. If you didn't renew your warranty, you know it is going to be expensive. However, I recently took my wife's BMW in for them to look at it because it was having trouble starting. Expecting the worst, I got a call from the shop saying they found the problem. It was simply the sensor was not plugged into the battery. They checked everything else and it was fine. They only charged me 1/2 hour to diagnose the problem and fix it. I am sure there might be some other shops that might have spent 2 hours "looking" for the problem. read more

I can't recommend this shop highly enough. The small local dealer where I bought my BMW recommended them to me and I'm so glad they did! Local family owned shop, and everyone there lives & breathes BMWs. Very reasonable labor rates, friendly and approachable environment, they remember your name, and aren't trying to rack up your bill. The only downside is no "free" car wash like at the dealer - but I'd rather pay $10 for the car wash around the corner than suffer through jacked up rates and shenanigans at the dealer service bay. I love this little shop and totally trust them with my car! read more

My car actually stopped running when I was down the street from the shop and Greg walked down the street with a battery charger to get my car started and down to their shop. After checking out the vehicle they were able to get me taken care of and a repair that I thought was going to be a few hundred dollars was a much smaller problem than we thought. Finding Ultimate Auto is liking finding some cool, signless club in Scottsdale. But once you do, you're in baby. You're in! It's located behind several car dealerships in a tiny two store strip mall type building. Unlike a club, however, they do not card you or serve drinks. But they do take credit cards and always have a pot of coffee warmed up. Greg and John have been running this business for years and have quite the cult following. And because I don't speak "car", they always speak to me in a way I can understand. "Your car is broken." "We will fix it." You know, like that. I never felt cheated or scammed and they always, always let you know what's necessary and what can wait. Like the brakes are running metal on metal and the visor mirror is broken. Naturally, I had the mirror replaced first. So, ultimately, I don't want to be at Ultimate. But if I must, a cup of java and hanging with Greg and John, in this tony Scottsdale hood, just ain't so bad. read more

I am relatively new to Arizona and did not know where to take our BMW 335i after I got sick of getting poor Service from the North Scottsdale BMW Dealer at over the top pricing and not doing the work that was promised to be done. We happen to be driving past the Harley Dealership and saw a sign for BMW repair...OMG what a find. Can't tell you how honest this place was with me on pricing, what "needed" to be repaired and how quickly they took care of me. We are all looking for a place that cares about quality and honesty and a fair price....THIS IS THE PLACE FOR BMW SERVICE.... They have a new customer for as long as I drive a BMW. Last item...I needed a place to get my F350 Diesel worked on since I was really was treated poorly at Scottsdale Ford, and Ultimate Auto Works gave me a suggestion of the Diesel Doctor...wow...they even did a fabulous referral for me on my truck...Don't miss out on this great find...So you know I have NEVER met anyone or seen this place before I walked through the front door. One of the windows in my X3 fell in right after my warranty expired. BMW quoted me with a vague range that seemed extremely high for the repair. I emailed Ultimate and they gave me an exact number (which was the exact price I ended up paying) and they were able to set up an appointment via email. Everyone I talked to was very nice. These guys are just the best! I have owned all sorts of BMW's (and other sports cars) since 1968 and therefore have a relatively broad perspective when it comes to quality of service after the warranty has expired. After three weeks in Spain ending just last week, I returned to find my battery in my 2006 Z4 M3 Roadster stone cold dead. Also, the car needed an oil change and some repair to the cigarette lighter which had become dislodged and inoperative due to my constantly plugging and unplugging my Sirius radio. I had the car towed to Ultimate Auto Works because of the excellent feedback in its 16 Five Star Yelp reviews. The car arrived at about 11:15 AM and at approximately 4 PM, Ultimate (Frank) called to tell me it was ready. What I especially liked about this experience is the straightforward, no BS way in which Ultimate addressed the repairs: in at 11 AM, out at 4 PM with no attempt at all to sell me on agreeing to peripheral or unnecessary add-ons (like, "sorry, it's not just the battery- you need a new alternator"). In addition, the final invoice was totally reasonable - far lower than I have paid for virtually identical service at an authorized dealership! If any of you have an out of warranty BMW (or any foreign sports car, for that matter), you cannot go wrong with these people. Fast, efficient, pleasant and reasonable.
