This is my favorite, now only, place to get pedicures, massages, and facials. I love the atmosphere, once you get inside. The themed rooms are tastefully done and really a cute idea. I've had many massage therapists there and they are all professional. The staff is polite and makes me feel very welcome. This is hands down the best spa I've been to in awhile. I had a girls day with my soon to be mother in law and could not be more pleased. We were greeted promptly and shown to a relaxation area. They gave us glasses of water and these fantastic warmed neck pillows. Even though it was hot outside the pillows felt great. After a short wait, we were shown to our separate rooms. I believe my masseuse's name was Nancy. She was absolutely fantastic. I had asked for a 90min "Swe-deep" treatment (30min deep tissue, 60min swedish massage) and was very happy with my service. We are so disappointed. We scheduled a month ago to come into the salon today and have facials in a mother-daughter experience that included last night's Kelly Clarkson concert. This is a big deal since I take very little vacation and this is my busy time at work. However upon arriving we were notified that our appointments are for March 8 and not February 8. I schedule my life very closely because I travel for a living and I am sure that I did not make that mistake. All the receptionist could offer us was her sorrow but no promise of a service or anything else after I drive an hour to get to Overland Park. We were loyal repeat customers and the salon just lost my business. read more

This was my second visit to the Ultimate Escape Day Spa. It was my first time receiving the Hot Stone Massage and I was very pleased, Caila was awesome and worked out every kink I had, while making it easy to relax. The only reason I did not rate my entire experience five stars is because of the facial, I received the sonic facial and although I can feel and see the benefits of the facial, I felt Megan could have made it last a little longer than 15 mins and added in a shoulder, scalp or hand massage to make it a little more relaxing, otherwise it just felt like a good face wash! read more

I'm actually sitting in the parking lot of Ultimate Escape Day Spa FUMING. Opposite emotions of what you should be experiencing at this location. I bought a gift certificate at an auction to support a great cause and apparently the gift certificate expired the last day of August hard stop, no exceptions. I get it if it was a year later, but seriously? Life happens. We all get busy and apparently I need a new day spa! Never again!!! And the funny part is they gave me a BS excuse regarding taxes!!!? I own a company so the "tax situation" not really relevant. You wrote this off on your 2016 taxes. Does not matter when I use it in 2017. I had never heard of this place before a group of generous friends got me a gift certificate. I was so pleased with the massage I got, now I never go anywhere else in Kansas City! Not only are the massages skillfully done, but the atmosphere inside is among the most relaxing around. Lots of salon spas in the area let in small children, all sorts of loud and random people... but not here. They're serious about relaxation and an atmosphere where you can block out the world and concentrate on yourself. They also carry Thymes brand lotions and fragrance products (yum!). The first time I went in August 2018, it was great. Was able to change into a rob and relax with a hot neck pad in the waiting room. The massages were great. Was able to sit in the waiting room afterwards until we were ready to go. However, the sound time, just this week, wasn't as pleasant as the first. Just seemed to get us in and out. No special treatment. Other clients seemed to have gotten the special treatment but not us. Not saying it had anything to do with race bc the first time was great. So not sure what happened and not sure I will give them a third chance. Just wanted to share my experience. read more

I went in for a 15 minute capsule and 60 minute spa pedicure. It was our mommys-night-out and all I hoped for was some relaxation and time with my sister. I received more than I anticipated. We were welcomed by a nice lady as we entered, then whisked away to the lockers to change into a robe, offered refreshing water/tea, and enjoyed the fireplace room. The capsule was awesome. I almost feel asleep while I dreamed about being somewhere other than Kansas. The pedicure was fantastic. They chatted with us and the occasional silence wasn't awkward. They probably would have led us listen to spa music if we had wishes to not chat. We were in a private room that had two message chairs. I usually check out the spas when we go on vacation, and this is up there as one of my most peaceful, relaxing, soul-soothing experiences. We left talking about how we need to go back, and often. It's been 3 weeks and our nails still look fabulous with no chips. While we were there, we didn't see or hear any traffic or other clients. read more

Great spa experience! Very relaxing from the time you walk in the door. Love the sitting area with the warm neck wrap and hot tea. Kevin gave me the best massage I've ever had and Hunter is by far the best nail guy around. This is not a pretentious spa so if that's what you're looking for go pay more for less elsewhere. I scheduled a 60 min spa pedicure for 1pm. I was told to get there early to check in. I arrived at 12:55 as requested. The receptionist told me she hadn't put my appointment in yet because she was busy answering the phone. I was taken back to the wait area where I sat for over 30 min. As a result I did not have time to get my pedicure. I would not reccomend this spa. read more

Was very disappointed in how the staff handle my friend and I. We had scheduled massages weeks in advance and were coming from out of state at a set time. My therapist was sick that is fine but they didn't try to offer me something else while my friend got done. Then we were able to arrive earlier to salon so I called and moved my friends appointment up. She got there and they canceled her appointment!! Not thrilled!! Sorry they will never see our business ever again if we come down. Had the best massage ever @ Great wolf lodge were they worked us in gladly!! read more

I went to this Day Spa based on other reviews that I had read, but was pretty disappointed. The atmosphere was anything other than relaxing. The the waiting area was dirty and dark. I believe that the low lighting was in an effort to disguise the poor décor and the general disrepair of the facilities. The ceiling tiles were stained, the walls were dirty and the furniture was out dated. The poor gal that did my massage, was very calming and sweet, but we had to walk through an occupied sauna room to get to our massage room where the door popped open each time the air conditioner kicked on. The walls are so thin that you can hear the microwave and talking in the other room. Additionally, I had to wait AT LEAST ten minutes in between each service that I made appointments for. I was there from 9:45 until after 2pm without even an offer of a snack (which they state is included in the packages). I will not be back. read more

You really don't want the outside to fool you here. It's right next to a Price Chopper in a little strip mall, but once you go inside you forget about the location. It's warm and comforting. The staff are very sweet and polite. I would give this place five stars, but there is a few things they could've added to make the experience even better. The neck pillows were fantastic, but a rose water foot bath would've made it even more fantastic. I had a facial and swedish massage. I was really impressed that they did extractions when it was only a 30 minute facial. I also got the cocoa butter foot and hand soak. That was a nice touch on top of the facial. The massage was wonderful as well. A definite perk was the warm heating pad on the bed. Just added to the relaxation. I had a hot stone boost, which felt fantastic. Maybe next time I'll get a full hot stone massage. We were not rushed in any way. We just sat in their comfy waiting room and sipped iced cold water until we could muster up the energy to go get dressed. And I would say the changing rooms could use improvement as well. You have little separate curtained rooms to change in but they were ridiculously tiny. I'm a tiny person and I kept bumping into the walls around me. I couldn't imagine someone far taller than me having an easy time changing in that little room. I would say it hindered my experience only slightly, but I did take note of it as I bumped my arms moving around in there. The pricing is great and the service is top notch. I love this spa! I'm sure it's not as nice as some of the more expensive spa's but it's also a lot cheaper. You truly get a great experience for the money! There is a nice changing area that is dimly lit to start you in the experience with nice robes and sandals to put on then you are led to the relaxation area where there is a nice fireplace with reclining couches and they put a freshly heated neck pillow on you and ask if you'd like hot tea or water. I almost fell asleep during this part, I could have just stayed there all day it was that relaxing. I had Jeff for the 90 minute swe-deep massage, seriously the best massage I've ever had and I've had quite a few. However if you don't like pain then don't do the swe-deep or a deep tissue it hurts, for real! but it really loosens up your tight muscles and I have a lot. I also had Hunter for my pedicure, also the best pedicure I've ever had it doesn't even come close to the experience that you get when you go to a nail salon and get one. He spent so much time on my poor sad, winter feet. They looked so good afterwards and so so soft! Plus Hunter was very personable and chatted with me the whole time. I highly recommend this place to anyone, it's definitely the full SPA experience. I can't wait to go back! read more
