I was having bad neck and shoulder issues and was in desperate need of a good deep tissue massage. I've seen Woodhouse multiple times but had never been and decided to give it a shot. While it is not cheap, it's worth it. You get ushered back to the bathroom to change. You have your own locker that you can put all your stuff in and lock, so very secure. Very nice bathrobe and sandals to put on and then you go into a waiting room. Very calm and serene. A couple of different flavored waters to choose from and snacks if you're so inclined. Waited in there about 10 mins (you can bring your phone but come on people - you're here to relax. Put the flipping thing in the locker. You can disconnect for an hour). My masseuse came and collected me and ushered me to a nice quiet room. She listened to what I wanted her to do and left me to get under the sheets. The room was nice and warm and I was never cold. The massage was WONDERFUL. I needed a deep tissue and she delivered. Within 2 days my shoulder and neck were worlds better. After the massage they take you back to the bathroom. I super appreciate that there is a shower. The only downside of massage is having that oil all over you and getting dressed again. Loved the shower - very clean and great towels. Le bf and I did a couples massage at Woodhouse Spa and boy oh boy, will we be back again! They have beautiful and very clean locker rooms with the softest robes that's ever graced thy body. They have a peaceful waiting area with drinks, snacks and a very warm ambiance while you're waiting to be called for your massage. The massage could have been a little gentler for my preference, but overall I felt absolutely relaxed and rejuvenated! Looking to try one of their facials very soon! read more

I loved everything from the moment I opened the door to the minute I walked out. It's beautifully decorated, warm and inviting, and the staff are so kind. It smells great, and the waiting room is full of tea and light snacks, with luxurious fabrics and pillows. I could (and did) spend quite a while here. I opted for a pedicure, which was so relaxing! Woodhouse Day Spa is luxury in the heart of Leawood. I came here last Saturday with my mom to celebrate my birthday - we both got massages and Woodhouse exceeded our expectations! Every inch of the interior is beautifully decorated. The lobby is stocked with items to purchase (I seriously contemplated buying one of their plush robes) and the front desk ladies were so lovely. They even gave me a cupcake from McLain's Market as a birthday treat! The massages were incredible. You can tell they have high standards for the masseuses they employ here. Both of them were incredibly professional and thorough. I like a medium-light firmness and it was so heavenly I almost fell asleep. I will absolutely be returning, this is my new favorite spa in Kansas City. I cannot wait to try their other services! read more

This place is nice! VERY RELAXING! You can make reservations online or call them. They list their services online on a very user friendly website. I've learned recently that more of my friends like going to bathhouses, day spas, saunas, those kind of places. I joined a friend during this great visit. The sign to the place is little hidden. But I kinda like that cause it just seems more private. They will tell you to arrive 20-30 minutes early so they can check you in and take you to the locker room before going into the lounge room. Their robes are hella comfortable. SO SOFT AND THICK PLUSH. In the lounge room, you will find fruit infused water, tea, and snacks. I could chill in their lounge room for hours. It's so zen. Then whatever service you get, the person will get you. I got the body balance massage. I definitely will choose the longer time next time. 50 minutes is not enough time lol. It ended too quickly. Then I get a pedicure and it was really fun chatting with the ladies. My friend got the deep tissue massage and said she is going to ask for a male massage therapist next time. But everyone has different preferences so you know your body best and what you'd like. I definitely can see why this day spa is located at this specific area lol. There is no rush inside. Everyone is calm and just moving at their own pace. It's a great place to refresh and get self-care. I spent my entire afternoon inside here. It was incredible. They said we could take our time leaving and there was no pressure to leave after all your services were completed. One day maybe I'll get to be a regular here lol but until that time, I'm going to tell everyone this is the day spa to go to in the area. And I'll still come here, just not often lol. read more

Very relaxing experience from start to finish. I got a prenatal massage. When you arrive, you check in and are taken to the locker room to change into your luscious soft robe and place your items in your secure locker. You are then escorted to the waiting lounge where you can put your feet up and enjoy some water or tea and mixed nuts. This lounge is very low lit and full of relaxing chairs and sofa. Your therapist comes into the lounge to meet you and walk you to your room. The spa is much bigger inside than it appears so definitely stay with your therapist haha. If you're getting a prenatal massage, they have a pillow that allows you to lay on your front side but not put any pressure on your belly or boobs. It was so nice to lay on my front side again. I had Nicolette who did a very nice job. She was very responsive to my requests, areas of focus, and pressure level. Staff were overall very professional, friendly, and relaxed. Went back to give it a second try and wow the massage was wonderful by Destiny. Pressure was perfect and she addressed my trouble spots. Vibe is good and relaxing except you can hear the girls in the front chatting loudly while you are trying to relax in the waiting area or stay in your zen after your treatment. Easy fix. I wish they had more private areas to change instead of the 2 toilet areas. Otherwise your left to undress and dress in front of the lockers and people are coming in the door or out from the restroom. Please address this with more areas to change and get ready as some of us have to go back to work or whatever else for the day. Overall, will be back and am pleased with my service but again at this price point everything needs to be on point and details matter. read more

The management of this spa is awful. After a poor massage experience, the front desk staff booked me with the lead therapist two weeks out telling me to voice my complaints with her. They just said sorry and I paid full price for the bad massage. That was my first issue. Upon going in for the second appointment, I find out that it wasn't actually booked and I was turned away with just a "sorry". The manager made me feel like it was my mistake which is not how you manage. read more

My therapist insisted I need a massage for "self-care" and kept recommending some place in Lawrence and I kept resisting because a) I don't listen to her why else would I keep going and b) I'm not driving to Lawrence because it's Lawrence and they'd probably have crystals and weirdos ANYWAY this Woodhouse place is by my house so one day while I was waiting for my sandwich in our cafeteria I looked the place up on my phone and it was so easy to book that I did it while I was just sitting there. They have evening hours which matters a lot to me. When I got there it is beautiful inside and smells spa-like. The front desk gal was friendly and easygoing and laughed at my jokes. I was taken back to a dressing room and they had a robe and slippers for me and a chalkboard with my name on it. I felt like a celebrity. Then they give you a warm neck thing and took me to a waiting room which was more like an expensive living room. They had cucumber water and a tray full of reading glasses. Smart. The masseuse come and got me and the massage was divine. I got a 50 minute body balance massage with an aromatherapy add-on and it was $130. They ask you if you want to add the standard 20% gratuity and I was happy to say yes. Most places are so passive aggressive and weird about tipping. (I mean nail salons). Anyway I scheduled another one on my way out. I cannot recommend Woodhouse highly enough!! read more

I received the Hydrate & Soothe facial from Courtney 2 days ago and I'm happy with the results! She did a thorough job and my skin is still glowing and hydrated. The spa itself is set up well, with a well-appointed changing area, cozy robes, comfortable sandals and a relaxation room with water, snacks and tea. They provide you with a warm neck pillow. The facial/therapy area was comfortably well-lit and had relaxing music playing. Everything was clean. My only complaint (4 stars) was that during my facial, from time to time, something/someone was bumping up against the other side of the wall of the therapy room, and it was slightly jarring. It may have been the business next door- not sure. Overall, a good experience with a great esthetician. read more
