I would give zero stars if allowed…read more I have a known a client, and have seen him have multiple home health aids provided by New Era over the past few years. As an employee I have learned why the turn over rate at New Era is high. Management at New Era does not care about the aids who take care of their clients. I would not allow this agency to do any work for my loved ones or on their behalf. I do not recommend this as a place to work. **spoiler alert** This is a long and thorough review of New Era Home Health and the management staff. Mark, the owner or head of management, refuses to pay direct deposit because he wants to see the aids come in. BUT New Era doesn't offer milage to do this 1-2x per week (to physically turn in weekly time sheets AND to pick up biweekly paychecks). Anyone can be hired, it doesn't matter what type/kind of experience you have. The pay is beyond subpar (again, experience isn't valued here). New Era is extremely disorganized. In October I went with the aid I would be replacing to complete an application, Mark didn't know where the applications were. I sat for an hour while he paced through the various rooms in the office looking for applications. Loretta, the receptionist, wasn't there (off on Mondays). A few weeks later my supervisor called and said she was moving her client to a different agency, and Mark finally hand delivered the application to my supervisor's home. Upon turning in my application, I told Loretta there weren't tax forms provided with the application. Somehow I got paid without completing tax forms. Upon turning in the application I told Loretta I need my paycheck to direct deposited to my bank, I showed her the forms from my bank and she said, "okay." This week I asked if New Era covers bank fees since they're refusing to do direct deposit? Initially Loretta said Mark doesn't like to do direct deposit because he wants to see aids come in. Then she said aids are supposed to do some type of class or training, and after completing them those employees were allowed to get direct deposit, and/ or if you turn in your time sheets on time those employees get direct deposit. This is the first time I had heard about trainings, which don't sound mandatory. I asked Loretta if there was an email or schedule sent about trainings, she said no. I asked if any of my time sheets had been late, and she said no. Loretta said she would try to have my direct deposit set up this week. YESTERDAY at 4pm (while going to physically pick up my paycheck) I learned New Era made my paycheck out to my client's previous aid. The owner/ manager, Mark did not handle this situation. He passed it off to Calvin, and Calvin did not notice the next error because he had to go to court. So, while New Era is about to close, I learned they made the second check out to another aid who has the same first name as me. WHAT TYPE OF COMPANY DOES NOT THOROUGHLY CHECK THEIR WORK? ESPECIALLY after an error had been made. The IRRESPONSIBLE kind. Mark shrugged and said he was "only human" and "made a mistake." No Mark, you made several mistakes. While waiting for Calvin to deliver 2nd incorrect paycheck I learned this happens often. Loretta verbally named 2 people who also weren't paid this week, and said another aid's hours were entered wrong. THIS WAS BEFORE, the aid with the same name as me informed New Era we were not the same person and that her check was wrong. So, alone this week New Era made a check out to someone who hasn't worked there in awhile, didn't pay at least 3 people, and wrote a check to another person with the wrong hours. Sounds like a lot of mistakes were made, not just one. Mark wrote the aid with the same name as me a personal check. I came home with nothing because Mark didn't have enough money to write me a personal check. I now see why my supervisor is ready to switch to a new agency. Who wants strangers constantly coming in and out of their home? Since working with New Era, I've also seen them cancel/ not approve doctor ordered therapy that my client needs. This was a shit show and caused him to miss weeks of valuable OT and PT. Mark tried to blame it on my client's insurance, turned out it was another one of those New Era mistakes.

Was an employee of this company for a little under 8 months. Upon the Owner's recertification for…read morecounty pay she became non compliance on two different occasions within a 3 month time frame. So the client that I was caring for then became discharges from the company due to the Owner's lack of being compliance with the county. So, instead of her being professional and contact and make me aware of the mishap, she does not but provides and unofficial letter address to the wrong person, then when contacted about it she make as though the contact call is out of business hours and calling on a personal phone. But she encourage for her employees to contact with any concerns. (included in the staff handbook) Two weeks goes by and it time for me to pick up my paycheck and she withheld my check (which is against the law- with no known reasoning). Contact the office to inquiry about my paycheck and the Office staff then play the IDK what's going on game. I sat in the parking lot for 2 hours waiting for the Owner Mary Lee Boschulte to arrive which was told would be a 45 mins. For her to not arrive (which I knew she wasn't going to arrive, because the staff was calling letting her know) .Then I called into the office and inquiry again on the possible arrival of Mary and was told " I don't know what's going on " I waited until after business hours around 5pm and made a call to the on call number. Mary answered the phone and I confirmed that it was she, for her to hung up on me. The company is a black owned company and to be treated with lack of respect and professionalism by your "own" is an utterly disgrace. But yet my culture continues to encourage "us" to support but get treated like this. I can only suggest to proceed with caution and do your diligence and research before pursuing to work or even receive service from this black- owned business.
