We found him through a venue's "Preferred Vendors" list, and I sent him an e-mail to see if he was available. The next day, I had a comprehensive and friendly message from him sitting in my inbox. After working with a bunch of not-so-great-at-communicating-online vendors, this was a big deal and good first impression. Pre-event prep with Seth went very well -- communication was efficient and friendly (e-mail, phone, Facebook, he's on everything), he was flexible and cooperative with our song choices (last minute on our part, oops!), and was very helpful in getting us the most for our budget. We met up once before the event at a Starbucks to discuss specifics, and kept in touch until the weekend via e-mail and phone. Also, though we didn't use it, he also does some great lighting, so if you're looking for a special setup definitely ask! Most importantly, he was great on the day of the event -- we admittedly had a really really hard crowd to work with (older asians, shy co-workers, etc) but after a while, our family and friends loosened up and enjoyed themselves for the rest of the reception. Our music choices leaned mostly toward Sinatra, family-friendly classics, and fun songs that everyone knows, but I wouldn't doubt Seth's abilities to throw some dirty south bass down with the best of them - I wish I had known about DJ's like Seth when I planned parties in college, as I'm sure that would have been great , haha.
