Both of my girls are on the JO team, and we have been here for a couple of years now so it felt…read morelike we have had solid time to be able to write a credible review vs a singular experience. My younger grew up in the recreational program, we did everything from mommy and me and she went through the classes as she got older, joined the JO Team this past June. I personally didn't think she had what it took, but trusted the gym's judgment...and she's been thriving. Her coaches overall were great, and we even still have moments where rec coaches who work seasonally will come back and be amazed at how much she grew! My oldest has always been on team and we have had injuries, but she had a great season last year. I appreciate how much all her team coaches (Carmen, Toya, Mike, Jim, Kevin, Savannah, Sophie, Jazz), Courtney and the front desk team support her. Having so many coaches for the team is wonderful as they all offer something different in terms of coaching style and personality fit. No place is perfect, but what I do appreciate is that you can have a transparent conversation about how your child is doing / how together we can partner to help our kids progress in a safe way. These conversations may not be easy but the intent is shared that the gym also wants what's best for your child. My oldest has a mental block from breaking her arm twice and the fact that she's at the gym and love gymnastics still is a testament to how much the coaches and the gym cares. I've had conversations with the coaches and Courtney about how it's more than just gymnastics, but how their time at the gym shapes their identity and who they grow into so I appreciate the macro view this gym has vs it's about level / skills / medals. The Xcel coaching team is also excellent - we trained with Curtis on the pre-team prior to JO and we loved him. Kelsey also worked with our girls and is so supportive. It's clear how much the coaches here care about the kids. The gym itself is so well kept in terms of equipment and safety so it's nice to see the pit is cleaned and everything looks clean vs at some gyms there's a lot of dust, fraying, and wear. Lastly, we are not in cheer (sadly), but love Neda and Sammy's energy, and can't think of better coaches to lead this team.

I couldn't recommend this place highly enough! You can just tell the coaches here love what they do…read moreand adore children. There is so much high-quality equipment and all staff are engaging with children, teaching them and demonstrating the equipment, keeping kids safe and engaged the entire time The kids can also choose from arts and crafts when their bodies need a break. Every day she brought home cool high quality arts and crafts Most telling is the fact that I come to pick up my kid and she runs back in begging to stay longer. If that's not proof, I don't know what else is. Today I intended at my first birthday there and was again blown away by the engagement and care all of the coaches take in the kids. So happy this place opened in Culver City and can't wait to come back. Keep up the good work guys!

Amazing experience for kids and parents alike!…read more If you're looking for the best place for your child to be active and enjoy some creative downtime, this is absolutely the place to check out. The facility truly has what kids dream of -- a bouncing area, climbing structures, slides, building stations, a seesaw, zip line, rolling elements, and more. What really sets this place apart is the balance between physical activity and calmer options like arts and crafts. Kids can burn off energy and then switch gears without ever getting bored. The space is thoughtfully designed, clean, and engaging, and you can tell it was created with children's development and enjoyment in mind. Perfect for camp, playdates, rainy days, birthdays or just giving kids a fun and stimulating environment. Highly recommend -- we'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing!…read moreOur family spent nearly two years at this gym. My son started at age 4 in recreational gymnastics and eventually moved into the Dynamite pre-team program. I'm sharing our experience because parents deserve transparency before making a major commitment of time and money. Over nearly two years, we observed poor communication, weak class structure, lack of professionalism, and little respect for parents' concerns. The coaching environment felt cold and impersonal. We rarely observed warmth, encouragement, or meaningful connection between coaches and children. The atmosphere felt transactional rather than supportive, which was especially disappointing in a program for young kids. Honestly, not seeing children smiling, laughing, or truly enjoying class felt strange. Communication was a major issue. Coaches were frequently changed without notice, and assistant coaches were often placed into lead roles despite premium pricing. Parents were not informed, and new coaches were never introduced to children or families. In nearly two years, we received no meaningful feedback about our son's progress, strengths, or weaknesses. We invested significant time and money, yet had almost no insight into his development. The biggest disappointment came after moving to the Dynamite pre-team program (1.5 hours, twice per week, approximately $880 every two months). At that price point, we expected a structured program with professional coaching and active instruction. Instead, a shocking amount of class time was spent: * waiting for turns * standing in lines * repeated water breaks * long transitions with minimal instruction Close to 30 minutes or more of class time appeared to be lost to waiting and transitions alone. We observed as many as six water breaks in a single class. Meanwhile, our son spent long periods sitting and waiting while the coach struggled to manage disruptive behavior from other children. Instead of learning and staying engaged, he became bored, discouraged, and unhappy. Most importantly, he stopped enjoying gymnastics. We raised concerns multiple times to the front desk regarding excessive downtime, poor class structure, lack of active coaching, and the program not matching expectations for the cost. Each time, I was told the head coach would contact us and that sitting and waiting was a normal part of gymnastics. He never contact me. However, paying premium fees for a program with this level of downtime was extremely difficult to justify. I was especially shocked when a coach approached me and said: "What do you want? Let it go. Leave him to us. We know what we are doing." That response was deeply concerning. As a parent, I am not going to blindly "leave it to them" when I have legitimate concerns about my 6-year-old child's experience, safety, and development. The head coach never contacted me, and there was no genuine effort to understand, address, or resolve the issues before allowing the situation to escalate. We were ignored until I personally confronted the coach after the sixth water break in a single class. There was virtually no management visibility and little meaningful oversight of coaching quality or class structure. In nearly two years, we never had real access to leadership. The head coach never introduced himself, we never even knew what he looked like, he never addressed our concerns directly, and he made no effort to understand our perspective. After raising legitimate concerns, our son was removed from the pre-team program. Instead of addressing the issues, the focus shifted to criticizing my communication after I became understandably frustrated. The email stated: "After reviewing recent interactions with our staff, we have made the decision that [my son's name] will no longer continue with the boys team program." Rather than listening to legitimate concerns from paying parents, management chose to dismiss us. What was even more concerning was the final response from the head coach: "You are not entitled to publish or distribute images or videos of other people's children or our staff." That statement spoke volumes. He seemed far more focused on controlling what parents can share than addressing serious concerns. Because I recorded the class! I am sharing this review because parents deserve to make informed decisions. Observe carefully, watch full classes, and ask direct questions. We were not expecting perfection. We were expecting professionalism, communication, and accountability. Today, our son is thriving at a different facility. He is happy, engaged, learning, and genuinely enjoying every minute. This experience taught us something important: sometimes it's not gymnastics. It's the environment and the coaching.
