Another great place to grab some food that has options for everyone! We stopped into Ultralife Cafe for the vegan options. They have quite a few options that are already vegan and some that you can make vegan at no extra charge, which is really nice. This cafe is somewhere you can pop into and sit and have a coffee, grab a bite, or get your food & drink to go and walk down to the beach. It's quite small inside but has lots of small tables. It's not a cafe to take your family to for a sit down breakfast/brunch. They offer vegan pastries as well as gluten free! I got the vegan breakfast sando to go - it's on the menu described as being on a gluten free waffle but it came on a plain bagel which was totally fine with me. We also ordered the vegan club sando which was 10/10. We actually went for brunch both days during our visit because of the options for everyone. Overall great place and nice experience! read more

I really love this cafe. I have to stay in Nye Beach so that in the morning, I can walk to Ultralife, have a good coffee and read the NYT. Maybe a delicious donut - why not? Stopped by Ultra life cafe for a caffeine boost before our long way home. The shop is very cute with lots of seating. We did not have their baked goods but they had lots of yummy looking offerings and some gluten free as well! The barista was friendly and helpful Making drink suggestions. The drinks themselves were not our favorite. The latte tasted burnt and the blended energy drink I had with "fresh fruit" did not taste like fresh fruit it tasted like the fruit syrup blend you get at Dutch brothers. While we didn't like our selections I would come back and give them another go. read more

LOOOVED this place. The cuteness factor is worth five stars alone, but the quality of the baked goods was amazing. Particularly gluten-free options. I had a breakfast sandwich on a gluten-free biscuit that was heavenly. They also have this self serve bakery case that looks like heaven. I was there in the morning and it was bustling for sure. I love Ultralife.. I am a local and enjoy going there for a pastry and a coffee. However I have encountered a couple not so nice employees... it was around 430 the door was open the open sign was still on I walked in wanting to get a danish for the morning and when asked if they were still opened I was met with a rude employee scolding me because there was a rope across the door meaning they were closed... well there was no rope across the door....just be nice people!!!! read more

Great spot to grab a bite while exploring Newport. I got the Avocado Caprese Bagel and it was so delicious. The coffee cheesecakes was a wonderful treat. The cashier was very welcoming and the prices are decent for the area. The cafe is a little cramped when they got busy. We plan on come back the next we visit. read more

The Baristas here are very good. My macchiato came out perfectly. There is quite a substantial menu of drinks and eats for such a small shop. Fortunately they have a nice seating area with tables inside. The staff really are pleasant and fun to interact with. We found that they have an açaí bowl, so we had the Passion Fruit Tiki. It was really refreshing, even this carnivore enjoyed it. If we had these in our hometown I would definitely be a bit healthier eating these more routinely. Just for laughs I said "that was too healthy, let's share a doughnut". So we did and it was delicious. Then we found out it actually was a healthy version being vegan and gluten free..... I am chagrined by this. ....and I loved it. If healthy food is going to taste good, then BRING it! read more

After visiting the bakery across the street, I walked into its polar opposite, Ultralife Cafe (8/31/24). I checked in and noticed there was a Yelp perk of a free doughnut. This was confirmed this was indeed true, but not including the other larger pastries. I ordered a mocha, which was an automatic 2 shot, 16oz beverage ($5.35). There was a brief wait due to the large party ahead of me whose bev orders were being prepared. This gave me a chance to look around. There's a doughnut and pastry self-serve case, cafe merch, coffee roasts, acai bowls, cocktails, various other bevs...looks like a cafe that covers different niches and a plus, more onsite seating. However, I did sit again at one of the outdoor sidewalk benches after claiming my piping hot mocha. No cup sleeves available. I cropped photos on my phone and people watched while seated outside. We came in for breakfast while on vacation in the area and had a lovely experience. The cafe is super cute and has tons of options. The employees were very nice and worked fast. They had a great selection of donuts and pastries too. I ordered the Brunch Box, which included a homemade biscuit, gravy, eggs, and your choice of bacon or sausage. I opted for bacon. The biscuit was huge and fluffy. It wasn't dry and had the perfect texture. The gravy was thick, well seasoned, and delicious. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and went well with the heavier starchy items. The bacon was basic, but solid. My boyfriend got the classic breakfast sandwich and loved it. We both got coffees as well. I got the coffee Borgia and he got a frappe. The flavor was excellent and I absolutely loved how each coffee came with a chocolate covered espresso bean. Got a blended açaí drink, and found 8-9 pieces of shredded plastic from the sambazon packaging in the drink. Went back to let them know, and get a refund, and they said they could do a discount on a future drink and free pastry. What if we had gotten the smoothie for our toddler, as we often do? She would have consumed all of that plastic. Not really interested in a future discount because we likely won't be returning. Pretty disappointed. As a business owner myself, I would have offered a sincere apology, a refund, and free drink if the customer was ever inclined to return. Poor business practice IMO. read more
