    Brown sugar cinnamon latte

Very good brown sugar cinnamon latte and the barista was very kind and patient with our group of four (all separate purchases).

    Newport, OR area.

Let's keep this short and sweet. The hours posted online say they are open at 6am. You get to the business location and a sign on the door says "spring hours: 10am". Sorry folks it's not spring and I don't know very many people who wait till 10am to have coffee. I love local coffee shops. It's a shame I won't be able to check this one out.

Very excited to try a new local organic coffee roaster in Newport. Surf Town has two locations in the Historic Bayfront district by Newport Bay. I visited the main coffee shop and roasting location on Bay Blvd. There is a second location that serves coffee and Tillamook ice cream on the Abby Street Pier. My customer service experience wasn't perfect, but I'm going to cut the poor guy a break. He was in the middle of roasting a batch of beans and his counter help was taking a break. He gamely ran back and forth to help me until another employee arrived. I appreciate that he didn't just blow me off and went above and beyond to be helpful even though the situation wasn't idea. The coffee house is pretty small with just a couple tables and one wicker couch inside. It has the expected no frill, surfing motif. Electrical outlets are minimal, but they found one for me to use. There are also a couple of outdoor seats. The coffee was quite good and I'll give them another try next time I'm in the area.

    A bevy of bountiful beverages!

It was a little chilly by the bayfront so we stopped in for a hot beverage to warm us up. Great little shop, it was clean and tidy. The barista was pleasant and helpful. We order two chai teas, one blue raspberry Italian soda, and a loose leaf hot green tea. All drinks were prepared well and hit the spot and kept us warm and cozy while we finished our shopping trip. Might need to try them for a cup of coffee next time.

Love that they have more than just steeped tea for those who don't drink coffee. The staff is nice. They have Tillamook ice cream. It's right on the bay so you have a nice view.

Only photo I still had from my trip- awesome treats!

I have been meaning to write a review for this place since I first came here in June on vacation. After trying a few coffee shops in Newport I have found my go to place when I am in town! Surf Town! The manager/ owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about coffee. He clearly knew everything from roasting technique to flavor profiles. The espresso had a well balanced flavor and they had a good selection of alternative milk options. This location (and I think the other) is located on the bay front shopping strip. I can see how for a local this might make it hard to just drop in on some days. If you get the chance stop on in for a real coffee lovers experience!!

Cute coffee spot tucked inside a tourist goods store. They do their own roasting, have bags of whole beans for sale with clever names like "Great White Roast" (highly caffeinated), and also have loose leaf tea and biscotti. The coffee is decent-I did have to have my Americans remade since there was a little much water in it the first time-but the barista was very kind and didn't seem to mind the request.

It's pretty small inside and definitely has an antique shop feel. There's lots of different styles and things around. There are a few small tables scattered throughout. The lady at the front was very kind and happy to walk us through their options. They have one small case that's mostly savory and one small case that's sweets with a tiny truffle case on the counter. I think the move here is the cinnamon roll, but when we arrived they were still baking, which meant it smelled delightful, but were weren't able to try one. We ended up trying the breakfast muffin, which was really unique. It's a muffin with cheese and spinach baked in, along with an entire strip of bacon just under the surface, and an entire egg baked in the middle. It was good, but I'm not sure I would order it again. I'm not usually a scone fan, I prefer a muffin, but their scones looked good. We tried the blueberry lemon and the cranberry orange. They were both really flavorful with a good texture, not super dry. The blueberry edged out the cranberry for me because the blueberries were fresh, whereas the cranberry were dried. This is a cute small shop, clearly making everything from scratch with passion. I'd stop back in for a cinnamon roll for sure!

We lucked out and arrived right as the largest table in the tiny place was finishing up so we got a table that comfortably fit the six of us. I ended up getting something I used to get years ago and was thrilled to see that they still had: pan-fried Yaquina Bay oysters and eggs, along with the homemade biscuit. Love that they have homemade bread and bread their own oysters and fish. I was worried that this place wouldn't be as good as it was when I used to go there 12 years ago with the new owners but it was as good as ever. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the waiter was super kind and funny. Love to see this place still thriving.
