    Pecan Pie

I just stopped in here to get a lift me up a cup of coffee and a sweet piece of pie. Says the pie is the best in town. I had two slices cause I couldn't make up my mind. They were both very good. The bourbon pumpkin was creamy and not overly sweet. Pecan is always my fave. Service was excellent. Very relaxing and yummy pitstop

My family and I went here for a late lunch. It wasn't too crowded. Service was a bit spotty. We got the feeling they were anxious for us to finish and go. They are part bakery and part restaurant. There were a number of choices. I had the patty melt-hadn't had one in a really long time and it was pretty good. The drink menu offered marionberry lemonade which I tried and really enjoyed. There were a lot of bakery items to choose from including pies, cakes, many tempting choices. One had the chocolate cream pie and really enjoyed it.

Chalet Restaurant & Bakery Review 2026 N Coast Hwy, Newport, OR 97365 https://www.chaletrestaurantnewport.com/menus-1/main-menus/ Rating 4 of 5 A local restaurant that specializes in friendly service and hometown cooking. As you walk in, you gaze at a large display of pies, and other baked goods that are mouthwatering to look at. The restaurant was spotless, despite being very busy that day. We were seated quickly, and I noticed that the back of the seat dividers were extended higher. So, no issues with young kids hanging over their seats staring at you while you eat your food. Our waitress arrived quickly, and the coffee was served quickly. For those patrons using sugar, you have yellow, pink, blue, or refined sugar. For creamer, just the standard. For our taste, the coffee was weak, but we have been accused of drinking strong coffee. My wife ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The bacon was cooked to perfection, with just the right firmness. This is always a hit/miss at restaurants. However, the pancakes were thin, and the syrup was runny for our preference. My breakfast, the mince scramble with ham and potatoes was well proportional, and cooked to perfection, not runny eggs or cooked too long. The shredded hash browns were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. My rye toast looked homemade with thick slices and numerous choices for jam. I chose Marion Berry of course and was treated to additional jam upon request. As one looks over the breakfast selection menu, the egg options are limited. But the waffles, pancakes, and dessert selections are extensive. As this is a bakery restaurant, the breakfast bread selections are also abundant like the following, coffee cake, muffin (varieties), and every toast option including rye and sourdough. The dining experience is pleasant due to the cottage feel on the inside and the decorations including a rock fireplace. One could envision this place at a ski resort. The staff maintained their friendliness during our meal and refilled the coffee quickly. They had staff at times with water or a coffee pot refilling the customer's cups/glasses. I think I counted 6 employees on the floor at once of the 10 I saw rotating through. What a pleasant surprise to find for breakfast, We will be back again. See the photos of the menu.

First time stopping in and definitely not my last. I tried the country steak with coffee cake as my side and it was 10/10. I'm usually iffy about restaurants chicken fried steak but it was really good. The blueberry coffee cake was amazingly perfect also. My niece got a pancake that she enjoyed. Hopefully next time I come with a bigger appetite and can get some goodies from their bakery because the selection had me drooling.

One of my favorite spots to eat breakfast, they also have wonderful pastries/cakes/pies.

This was an interesting place to stop and have lunch. The picture of the cake are what drew me in, but honestly the cake was kind of dry, the burger was the better part. I got the mushroom burger, add bacon. It came out really quick and was really juicy. The ambiance was kind of older but I liked the quiet. And the service was quick and to the point, no idle chit chat.

Always great breakfast here! All of their menu items are home made! Our most favorite thing there is the blueberry coffee cake! It is light fluffy heaven. Usually they have pans you can buy to take home, you won't regret it! Service is fast. This place is always packed. Huge menu so options for everyone. Some of our favorites- chicken fried steak, french toast, country sausage patties, huevos rancheros.

It's pretty small inside and definitely has an antique shop feel. There's lots of different styles and things around. There are a few small tables scattered throughout. The lady at the front was very kind and happy to walk us through their options. They have one small case that's mostly savory and one small case that's sweets with a tiny truffle case on the counter. I think the move here is the cinnamon roll, but when we arrived they were still baking, which meant it smelled delightful, but were weren't able to try one. We ended up trying the breakfast muffin, which was really unique. It's a muffin with cheese and spinach baked in, along with an entire strip of bacon just under the surface, and an entire egg baked in the middle. It was good, but I'm not sure I would order it again. I'm not usually a scone fan, I prefer a muffin, but their scones looked good. We tried the blueberry lemon and the cranberry orange. They were both really flavorful with a good texture, not super dry. The blueberry edged out the cranberry for me because the blueberries were fresh, whereas the cranberry were dried. This is a cute small shop, clearly making everything from scratch with passion. I'd stop back in for a cinnamon roll for sure!

Slightly spicy hollandaise sauce, perfectly poached eggs and the sweet bacon on the Benedict pearched on house made biscuits. Scramble was healthy with chopped asparagus, pesto, scrambled eggs, sun dried tomatoes, honey bacon chunks, excellent combination of ingredients. Strong, rich coffee, on top of it service and normally a wait, but worth it.

I opted for the grilled cheese with an iced tea. My husband ordered the clam chowder with garlic bread. As I look around at all the tables near me all of the food from the hamburger to the salad looks delicious. The front door is open and the restaurant is warm. Outdoors it's only 54°. Kitchen is in the back of the restaurant, but there is heat radiated throughout the small restaurant. And loud noise of fans. The service was quick and polite. The food was delicious. The restaurant kept busy with people sitting at the tables outside as the lunch tables inside were filled. This is a small and cute place to have lunch. The wait staff was kind. We left our jackets in the restaurant and the waitress came out and found us still sitting in our car and gave us our jackets. Thank you to the staff for going above and beyond. I would give this adorable café five stars.
