Something is not right.... Guys, do yourself a favor and stay away!! I purchased a groupon for a haircut. I asked for a long "lob" with a noticeable angle. First, let's start at the beginning: the "condition" treatment. Guys, I have had this done countless times and never had a product weigh my hair down to the point that it was this flat, greasy mess - which I didn't realize until after he said "let me blow dry it first, and cut it dry". Ok, I've had it cut that way before....but after it's supposedly been dried, I look up and it still looks wet -so, I'm thinking he didn't fully dry it for a reason. Then ( and THIS I've never seen) he starts to use a straightening iron on my hair BEFORE he cuts. I'm still thinking though, that maybe this is his own "technique", but I look up and my hair is an oil slick! THEN he proceeded to separate sections of my hair to start the cut, BUT unlike most hairdressers who chat AND cut, he steps back to physically "tell" the story and then starts to cut again, back and forth, back and forth. I'm starting to get concerned now, as when he finally sits and starts to cut the back of my hair, his hands shake as he holds each section. Also, all the other times I've had this style done, the back is layered, upon layer for a really cool shape and then gradually the sides are blended in continuing along the long angle! He asked me to drop my chin down and starts to cut one side. I think my neck is straight down, but apparently, as he was chatting away and cutting the other side, I turned my head slightly and I here "oops!" I look up and he has chopped off way more on that side! I'm trying to play it cool - it just HAIR right? But, I grew out my last cut precisely to have a long lob! Of course, it's my fault cause I turned my head according to him, but I've NEVER had that happen - ever. So, now he has to "fix it". He cuts the other side, taking the front ends in front to measure, etc. Now I'm thinking ok, here comes the cool layering part where they start at the crown and cut layer upon layer for a smooth texture. Nope! Now, keep in mind I'm not watching of course because I am so desperately trying to stay straight, chin down. He grabs (according to him) a really cool "tool" that will add some texture and starts to razor cut into my hair - but not with any precision or purpose, just a few here and there!???!!!! Then, he's done! I look up and I see the wet looking, non dimensional angle without any layering. I say, "can I see the back??" He hands me the mirror, I look, and it's almost the same length all around my head! I said, I can't really see any layering, and my hair is really greasy - would you mind washing it again?! He says sure, yeah, your hair really held on to that treatment conditioner, bla bla bla. Now my hair is clean, he blows it out, it definitely looked better but still no where close to being a well designed, cool haircut! My ends are choppy, I've got no real style, it looks like exactly what he did - chopped off the ends of my hair with shakey hands! I actually tipped him too. Why? I don't freakin know. I just wanted to use the bathroom and get out!! After thinking about everything, I really think this guy is a fraud! He rents a tiny room in a place with other like businesses, says he's only been there a year, (should have asked where he was before) but he's on his own, not in a salon, advertising on groupon, takes the money, pockets it and keeps going until he gets caught. It reminds me of a guy who faked being a doctor for years, faked his credentials, prescribed medication and even operated on patients until DUH! something went horribly wrong and he got caught. I just thank God it wasn't surgery, just a hack job on my HAIR!!! read more

Patrick is amazing. I have naturally curly hair and he knows exactly how to cut it. It's definitely nerve wracking going to see someone new if you have curly hair because you don't know if you are going to come out with a triangle but Patrick knows what he's doing! I've been going to him for 5 years and don't trust anyone else with my hair. I always come out after a session with him loving my hair again. His space is clean and well decorated. He stocks the products he uses in my hair so I can buy them and try to recreate his magic outside of the salon. Patrick is a master of his craft! Being a great hairstylist requires more than just skill, Patrick takes it to the next level by aligning his talent with attention to detail and genuine care. He takes the time to listen to what you want and is willing to give you an honest opinion using his own personal expertise. Conversation with Patrick never felt forced which i appreciate! Though this was my first visit, I felt like a long term client and that i was the number one priority throughout my entire appointment. Great location and atmosphere without being out of my price range. I was also thankful to have non-mainstream music to enjoy during my visit as well as unique and modern decor- great for rock fans! Patrick is very respectful, knowledgeable, charismatic, and charming. I'm new to the area and have tried several different stylists in Charlotte. While I haven't had bad experiences, something was always missing. I'm so happy to say I've already set up my 2nd appointment with Patrick and don't have to keep searching for the best! I've been going to see Patrick for almost 2 years and I can't think of a single negative thing to say! Not only is he an incredibly talented stylist/colorist, he's just an all-around tremendous person. I went to him because I was tired of coloring my hair and wanted to go natural. This meant taking it from a dark auburn (same color for 20+ years!) to silver gray. I was concerned about an abrupt transition, so he took the time to work with me on a gradual plan that would keep my hair & sanity healthy. We took several fun detours (pink! purple!) along the way but that just added to the overall wonderfulness of the experience! Patrick is so easy to work with and I leave with gorgeous hair after every visit. I can't recommend him and his talents highly enough! read more
