Shave ice in Hawaii is a must!! The ice texture is so fine and flavorful with the sweet syrups soaked in! This was so refreshing after a hot and humid day!! Service was quick as there was no line/wait when we got there. Parking is difficult when you're downtown so walk if you can.
I wanted shaved ice near Waikiki Beach, and this was the perfect spot for me! You have many different flavors ,combinations, and toppings. Personally, I like my shaved ice super simple. I got the Hawaiian Rainbow and it was sooo good! Their shaved ice is nice and snowy texture. Prices are fair. There's no indoor seating, but there's some outside.
I was completely blown away by the texture of the shave ice. I didn't know ice could be this soft and fluffy! Most shave ice still has a bit of an icy, crystalline texture, but Ululani's practically melts in your mouth. // Sunset Beach (one of their top 3 flavors) Passion orange, mango, guava This was SO good! I'm already a fan of POG flavors, and this combination was incredibly refreshing. The syrups tasted fruity and fresh without being overly sweet, and paired perfectly with the light, fluffy ice. I still don't know how they get the texture so soft, but it made this one of the best shave ice experiences I've had. They offer two sizes- Keiki (kids) and Ulu (original/regular) My only minor complaint is the limited seating. There are only a couple of outdoor tables and no indoor seating, so plan to enjoy it on the go. We stopped by after lunch, and it was the perfect refreshing treat and palate cleanser on a hot Hawaiian day.
This place is an absolute delight! Hands down one of the better shave ice locations on the island of Oahu! Be prepared for long lines. We were fortunate to arrive during low peak hours (around 7pm). Service is always quick and efficient. And the vibe is great with the hustle and bustle of servers, patrons and the unique sound of the ice machine! My absolute favorite is the Sunset Beach (passion orange, mango, and guava). Absolute fire!!! It had a nice powdery, soft texture rather than coarse, crunchy granules were used to in other places. And the micro-thin ice shavings soaked up the flavors entirely instead of letting it pool at the bottom. Overall, we had an amazing experience (as always). I would've liked to see more tables and chairs for people to hang out and enjoy their shave ice! Also, prices are relatively higher than last time we were here (but hey, it's Hawaii). It's totally worth it!!!
Love that there is a Ululani's in the heart of Waikiki within walking distance of many hotels/shops now! The line was out the door and looked long, but they are amazingly efficient. I ordered 8 shaved ices for our whole party and our orders came out fast!! The ice is super fluffy and they have so many syrup flavors, including sugar free ones. You can't go wrong!

We stopped by for dessert after having dinner around the corner at Nori Bar. There was a slight line and we waited about 10 minutes to get our shave ice. We got the Ulu sized shave ice $8.59 with up to three flavors. We got lychee, passion fruit and pineapple. We also added on the snow cap $1.35 and mochi balls $1.50. The shave ice was fantastic. It was smooth as butter without any chunks of ice. The passion fruit flavor was great, the lychee not so much. It didn't taste like lychee at all. I loved it with the condensed milk snow cap and bite sized mochi sprinkled on the top. It was on the smaller size for a large. They don't take cash. Debit, credit or contactless payment only.
Long line on a Sunday evening. I ordered the keiki (smaller) size with cotton candy, mango, and vanilla ice topped with condensed milk. My favorite ice flavors were the cotton candy and vanilla. The condensed milk on top was spectacular. Their shave ice is very powdery and fluffy which is my preference over the chunkier types. Would definitely recommend this spot and would return in the future.

I would have to say this was one of the best shaved ice I've tried in Oahu. There was a short line when we arrived, so the wait wasn't bad. The menu had so many flavors to choose from and toppings to add on the shave ice. We tried strawberry, blue raspberry, watermelon, peach, and cherry. Every single flavor was sweet, but the star of this sweet treat is the ice. It was so soft, velvety, so fine compared to other locations. It was so delicate, delicious and refreshing. It's a great place for dessert after a meal. When I go back to Oahu again, I will try other flavors and toppings at Ululani's Shave Ice.

However, what I can say is that this just blew me away. You gotta get the snow cap. Delicious and rich, yet somehow also light? Again, can't wait to go back. Only downside is LONG line. The shaved ice was a like a melted popsicle texture! The flavors were delicious and they had large variety of flavors. The price was affordable and the portion was great! Staff was welcoming and knowledgeable about the flavor combinations they offered at must try in Waikiki. There are two or three small tables outside to sit! No indoor seating area centrally located near lots of other restaurants and shops.
Although I've been to Hawaii many times, yesterday was my first time having shaved ice here. Over the years, I've seen pics on my yelp feed for Ululani's and bookmarked it. I wanted to go to an actual shave ice spot where that's all they sell as opposed to some other spots near our hotel where they had limited offerings. I had ube and vanilla with ube ice cream. So delicious and creamy! The cashier was friendly and the employees making the shave ice were efficient. Would come back for sure!
I really enjoyed this shave ice. I actually didn't think I was a big fan of shave ice, but it had also been a long time since I'd had true shave ice. The inner shop is fairly small, so the line was outside the door. There aren't a lot of spots for seating, which is a bummer. The service was okay, but really just the bare minimum. I have to say the two standouts for me about this shave ice are as follows: the texture of the ice is fantastic - so smooth. It does also mean that it melts quickly, but it's really pleasant to eat. The other standout is the Mac nut ice cream. It's delicious, the bites of macadamia nut give a little crunch, and it all-around is very balanced with the flavors of the shave ice. I got the Sunset Beach, which is passion orange guava and mango. With the ice cream, I personally don't feel like the condensed milk is necessary, but I could totally be wrong. read more

Ululani's was such a hit after having brunch nearby for my parents' anniversary. My niece and nephews had been waiting for some shaved ice. My mom liked Ululani's in Pearl City last year, so she looked it up, and we were in luck that they also had a location where we were in Waikiki. I had already flew back when they tried it. I had the small strawberry shortcake with strawberry cheesecake ice cream filled inside. The small size was plenty. Whatever ice machine they have was amazing and better than Aulani and Lawson Station. It was so smooth. The flavor was great. There's many ice cream flavors to choose from if you want it filled in the center. I got to try flavors prior to selecting. I thought the ice cream with the shaved ice paired nicely. You don't have to add ice cream if you don't want to. It's more of an order and go kind of place. There's a few tables outside but not many. Only 2 tables are in the shaded area if it's hot out. Prices are reasonable. I paid under $100 for 11 of us. Come check them out for a refreshing dessert near Waikiki beach! read more

I lost count how many times my kids made me come here this trip lol. It really is very good, but everyone has their favorites and I'm obsessed w island vintage lol. I do admit I take a bite every time and do love the flavors lol they like that it doesn't melt as fast- according to my middle daughter, "it melts about 2x slower than other places"... we will continue to come bc my kids love it. We used yelp to Ululani's but yelp was wrong. Not by much but you could tell it moved and was probably part of /Duke's but now it has a store front that faces the street. Cute interior. Great staff that explained what we could do. They have two different sizes; you can add ice cream, condensed milk and I believe mochi. We split a small sized one, don't tell anyone but we already had a shave ice earlier... but it was really good. We really didn't have any more room for another one. read more

Like most things on the island, it can be a little expensive especially when you have add ons here. I liked my shaved ice so much that I came here twice! The second time I came my shaved ice didn't have syrup throughout, only on the top layers so majority of the snow was just ice. read more

I have been hearing about Hawaii Shave Ice for years so I figured since I finally made it here I better give it a try! We heard about Ululani's from a few locals and thought we would give it a try. We stopped in and were warmly greeted by the nice young lady at the counter. After looking at the options we decided on a #6 and it was amazing! The flavor was there and the Mochi on top was absolutely awesome. The ice was so soft and unlike anything I have had before. I am so happy to be here for a few more days so I can go back! Had this sweet treat multiple times during my trip. The combo I stuck with was mango, guava, coconut with the snow cap (condensed milk topping). You can also add various toppings, I added fresh mochi sometimes. They have a ton of flavors and you can choose any combo you want. The syrups tasted high quality and very true to the flavor. It was fluffy and creamy at the same time, and the perfect treat to grab and eat while walking back to our hotel. The staff was always super friendly. And they work very quickly and efficiently so even with a long line it moved quick. read more

Ululani's Shave Ice has a motto that all shave ice is not created equal, and I would absolutely agree with them. My boyfriend and I got the Blue Hawaiian with sugar free Pineapple, along with the mochi topping and snow top. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything that they serve here! The ice here is so difficult to explain, other than to say that it is melt in your mouth good! As soon as it touches your tongue, it disintegrates. You're left with the light aftertaste of the syrup and the lingering fluffy mouthfeel. Their mochi topping is also to die for- it's not stale and it won't stick to your teeth. They're perfectly soft and like you visited a local Japanese confectionary store. We got the snow top, and it added another dimension of sweetness! Ululani's did their big one, my issue is that there's not enough seating! I waited like a hawk to snag some for my friends. For some reason the only table inside has some topographical map on top of it. The line is also a tad confusing, there were some people going through the exit and cutting through everyone else. There was also a big fat cockroach lurking on the walls near the garbage can next to the exit, but at least it wasn't inside the actual shave ice and was only looking for the garbage! This was my first Hawaiian shaved ice experience and wow!! So much better than kansas city shaved ice lolll. I got shaved ice with sour tart flavor and vanilla ice cream on it. Very very tasty! I really enjoyed the sour flavor and the contrast of the vanilla ice cream with it. Also a good amount for $10. The service was pretty slow for being the only person in there. It took like 5 minutes to make it! Other than that, it was amazing!! read more

Now this place serves the softest/creamiest shaved ice i've had and will definitely be a spot to go to next time im on the island. This spot is located in the central area of Waikiki and conveniently located next to the Hyatt Centric where we were staying for the week. It looked pretty popular with the line put the door and our cousins who are locals also heard good things about this place. They offer plenty of selections when it came to flavor choices and combos. I ended up getting the almond joy And the rest of my Family got the fruitier flavors. The texture of the snow was so soft and creamy once it hit your mouth. Mine was a combo of chocolate and coconut cream and mochi on top which was surprisingly good. It didnt melt as fast as i thought it would, which was a plus and was actually able to finish my keiki portion. Dont be fooled by the touristy attractions when it comes to shave ice/snow try this place out for sure you will be coming back, we did on our second to last night of our trip read more

I'm an old dude but I still enjoy Shave Ice whenever visiting the islands. There are two things I always have to have when visiting my second home, fresh Poki and Shave Ice! Each company has their own variations, some with ice cream, some with toppings, innovative natural or unnatural syrups, interesting combinations, some with very social upbeat staff, others with grumpy let me do my job and get you out of here att'. I like the evening Staff at Uluani's Waikiki corner shop on Kuhio. They're young, energetic, having fun, vibing with customers, and efficient. They move the lines with the Order Taker smiling and genuinely interacting with Customers. Where you from? Like your shirt, etc... while the behind counter people are ice shaping and rounding your dessert with their sharp instruments. Ice flying all over the place while they round your dessert out! They really be shaving further! The Staff have such a positive attitude and that's how it should be since Shave Ice is a Happy Thing! As for what we had...Wife and I had the Lava Flow and K'S Kraving, each adding ice cream to make the dessert creamier and slower to melt. The former being more tropical tangy tasting and the latter more green tea mellowy, with over the edge dried coconut crunchies. We each liked our own choice, which were set combos. Can't go wrong with company perfected best sellers. We stopped by twice because it was so yummy! The snow has a very light and airy texture that softly melts away when you are eating it. My only knock is that we did feel it melts extra quickly, but it's worth the trade off. It holds the flavor of the syrup unlike some other places that are way icier in texture. They have the most flavors that I've personally seen a Hawaiian ice place serve which means that everyone in your party is bound to find something that they like. If you're truly in vacation mode and don't want to do any thinking, you can pick from their fun, curated premade flavor combinations. To accompany the ice they have several different toppings which is also a fun treat. The storefront is basically just big enough to order from, so when you pass by and see the line going out the door, do yourself a favor and hop in too for a delicious treat! read more
Heard a lot of friends rave about this shave Ice spot so I decided to check this palce out. The establishment is really small and there in only one table inside with two chairs. There are an abundance of flavors and I ended up with Ube, coconut and Lychee. I ordered Macnut ice cream and condensed milk to be included with my shave ice. The syrup tastes super artificial which I personally do not like. The condensed milk had a strange after taste, but the Macnut ice cream was delectable and probably the only thing I enjoyed from here. The shave ice was good but it wasn't so amazingly good that I go back again and again. It's know on Maui and this time I didn't get the sugar free one like I did on the one on Kalākaua. That was a mistake because the snow becomes hard as a rock. The employer told me that happens I guess you couldn't tell me it might happen. I couldn't eat it. They didn't give me a new one either. This time at this location I didn't go sugar free. I did add ice cream. Oh while we were in line there's a table for yours and if you sit there the person will run you off the seats it's only if you're buying tours. read more
Tried several shaved ice places on our trip but the ice is so fine and powdery at Ululani's!! We had the blue raspberry and the Sunset (mango, passion fruit, and guava). It was really delicious but by the bottom of the sunset, it was VERY sweet. That's the only reason I might choose a different combo next time. The staff are very fast and nice. The merch is quite pricey - wish it weren't so expensive since the kids wanted a button/magnet but it was $6-10 each. read more

This is my favorite shave ice place on the island! The ice is very fine and soft, similar to Waiola shave ice (iykyk). All of their flavors are made with natural fruit juices and cane sugar. They also have a variety of different toppings such as condensed milk, Roselani ice cream, and mochi. I highly recommend getting the Mac nut ice cream. Service was very quick. You can't eat inside, which is the one downside for this location. They have some seating outside, but is very limited. read more

Delicious shaved ice. I never imagined that shaved ice could be this soft and fluffy. It was. I ordered a large with strawberry, passion orange, and guava with a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream. It was delicious. I expected there would be a long line. There was none. I got my shaved ice in less than 5 minutes. It's more expensive than Matsumoto but more delicious. read more
This is fairly new, didn't see this the last time we visited Hawaii. It's right on the corner by Starbucks and it caught my eye. I had to try it after dinner. I ordered the Sunset beach which was recommended as one of their top sellers. It's Hawaii, their shaved ice should taste better than just ice and flavoring! Pretty disappointed with this spot. We shared it and still didn't even finish it. Sorry, but theres better shaved ice at other locations. Cute decor though! read more

I stopped by here 2 nights ago with my father for an after dinner treat. Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice is my absolute favorite shave ice, so I was excited to see they had a location in Waikiki. This shop is located on Kuhio Ave and the inside is rather small. In fact, there are no tables inside, just a counter to order from and a display case full of ice cream. For my shave ice on this evening I went with my usual, half lilikoi and half coconut. After ordering, the girl working the counter said "ube, right?" and I corrected her to coconut. Somehow I still ended up with ube and coconut. Since I enjoy ube and there was a line behind me, I didn't say anything and just went with it. The shave ice here ended up being really good. It was super finely shaved and I continue to love their use of natural flavors, which was both the coconut and ube. The ube brought an earthy undertone with a subtle sweetness while the coconut had a creamy, rich flavor. Overall it was a good shave ice, though I do wish I had the brightness of the lilikoi to cut through some of that richness. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future.
