Monterrey dog & chili dog. Yumm!

I was prepared not to like this place. The last thing I need is another addiction, but here I am, writing a review about two of the best hot dogs I've ever had in YEARS. The challah buns were buttery and the dogs were juicy. The first was the Monterey dog with bacon and no sriracha and the second was the chili dog. Both dogs were so good, I could not stop eating them. I was certain that I would eat one dog tonight and another tomorrow. Wrong wrong wrong. Because I am greedy I ate 80% of each dog. It was very upsetting. I'm hoping that no one reads this review because I don't want them to patronize this place and suddenly they're out of hot dogs. That would piss me off. You know the universe is always conspiring against us foodies. Anytime you like something, the universe takes it away. Ok, bye.

We smelled this place from a mile away and had to make our way over to try this place. The location is right next to truck yard. We ordered the fully loaded Houstonian hot dog for about $12. A little pricey but I don't blame them with the current economy. The hot dog is 100% beef and it's seasoned very well. The bun was a little too buttery/sweet for my liking. The hot dog could've also used more condiments and fried onions. The guys behind the cart were pretty awesome and very accommodating. This place will hit the spot if you're craving a hotdog.

BEYOND DELICIOUS!! How I had not tried these amazing hotdogs before is crazy to me. The Umbrella Fellas food stand offers hotdogs & burgers, seems really simple huh? But you guys know the value of comfort food made well. They toast their hot dog buns on the sides, giving each bite that soft and buttery goodness taste. The stand is located on Main Street during the weekends. There was a line of people surrounding them once the bars were closed. Their price ranges between $5-12, depending on what you order. Whether is in downtown or at a pub, if you see the Umbrella Fellas go and check them out. Trust me you will not regret it!!

I don't care how long you wait in this line- you better wait! One of the best hotdogs I have had in Houston!!

Awesome and delicious. Buttery delish bun and awesome bite to the dog. I must try the burger next time. Super friendly guy behind the grill

This is an umbrella stand you won't want to pass up. THE ABSOLUTE BEST BLACK BEAN BURGER!!! that burger flavor resonated for so long that it had me craving it ever since. I had that burger a month ago and today I just had Rafis Burger with bacon and cheese and OMG that was an epic delish burger. I was so anxious to indulge in the burger that I didn't get a chance to snap a picture. If you see the umbrella stand gather your taste buds for a burger party and dive in!

They have the best black bean burger in Houston by far! My only complaint is that they're closed Sunday-Tuesday.

It's become a rite of passage for street food loving folks, which is often the case for aa lunch time snack or a late night . While I can't say I was impressed with everything I had, I am pleased it was all simple and affordable. The first thing is the corn, which in this case is elote (on the cob) or elote en vaso (#2), which is served in a syrofoam cup. The condiments are self serve, so the toppings are as up to the customer. I personally likes of lime, cotija chese, chile powder, and a nice slab of butter. Some of my corn pieces in both the cob and cup version were a tinge dry, but it was enjoyable as a whole. Their Mexican style hot dog is likely the best thing they have. Wrapped in bacon and decked out in a myriad of peppers, onions, jalapeños, tomatoes, and sauces, it is a hefty dog for less than $5. There is a smaller sausage version for kids, but it's rarely available. They also have fajita tacos for $2 each. There are no other meats available, but the portions are very generous. Sadly, the tacos were average at best and the salsa verde was underwhelming. i also didn't appreciate the old limes that were just thrown into the bag without being separated in its own. Spanish is preferred and this is a cash only business. Seating options are zero, so plan to eat this on the small counter space on the spot, or back in the car for a takeout / take home date. This would be an excellent option for a casual lunch or a snack in the near-wee hours of the evening. __________ (#1) Tacos, mainly. (#2) Known in other circles as "esquite."
