The reason I gave stars off is because 1) on a Saturday afternoon when crowds are heavy, there's only 1-2 workers and I ended up waiting at least 10 minutes for my drinks. 2) it seemed like most drinks were pre-made and taken out of the refrigerator, and 3) my milk tea boba wasn't very cold and had little ice. Admittedly, I hate boba. "We put a bunch of pudding filled blisters in your tea. You'll need to slurp them through this garden hose sized straw. They'll burst and ooze as they pelt you in the tonsils. Enjoy." Instead, I go here for the sodas. The snow lemon soda is so refreshing. It tends to take a while, sometimes taking 10 minutes for a soda, which seems like a lot since it's not like they're brewing them, but it has typically always been worth the wait. That would have probably made it 4 stars for me, but I chose 5 because of the ambiance. This is one of the coolest decorated spots I've been to. It fits the "cozy cafe" theme to the letter, with dim mood lighting, wooden benches and tables, and even some fake trees that they change every season. It's like sitting in the neverending LoFi Hip Hop Radio Beats To Study Slash Relax To video loop, watching Lofi Girl listlessly scribble in her notebook while you choke on your tapioca paintballs. Came with friends for a quick catch up. My BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA felt very mild and I didn't see any syrup inside to indicate any other flavor was added, so it felt ok. It did taste nice anyway and boba felt soft. Also, shared the WAFFLE and they did let us know it would take about 10mins. It was cooked nicely and flavor was good. I knew they were making it before it was ready since it smelled so good. The guys at the register were nice and let us know that since the MANGO TEA was new it was going to be labeled differently in the receipt. We sat in the back couches which were very comfy and cozy. Second time coming here. First time, it was on a week night so we had the whole place to ourselves. We went again last night on a Sat night and it was busy. A lot of teenagers with nowhere else to go. The employees were very pleasant. The cashier apologized and offered alternatives when we found out the pumpkin spice milk tea was sold out. I got the ultimate ace milk tea and I recommend it. It has brown sugar, boba, and jelly in it. It's very delicious. By far one of the best boba places I have been to in the Schaumburg area. This shop is located near a nice fountain with a lot of walking area and the inside is very nice. The theme is very aesthetic as there are cherry blossom tees and very nice lights. One of the biggest plus points about this place is the amount of options. There are so many different types of teas both milk and fruit and there are shakes too. I ordered the dragon ball but got it with regular tapioca instead of the crystal and this was one of the best boba teas I have ever had. It was a perfect mix of sweet and a little tangy and there were pieces of dragon fruit that tasted really good. I wanted to like this boba shop. The whole aesthetic is just so cute, with benches, cherry blossom trees, and string lights. I got the cookies and cream milk tea, which was the first mistake I made. I knew it was just a fun flavor, certainly not traditional in any sense. The drink seemed like it had a milk tea base with soggy bits of oreo at the bottom. Except, I couldn't actually taste the tea, all I got was oreo which was disappointing. My second mistake was not ordering the drink with less sweetness. I don't know what I expected when I ordered this drink, but it was way too sweet (and I like sweet things). The sweetness level was over the top crazy. I normally don't ask for less sweetness for my boba drinks but I guess now I need to reconsider. Maybe it would have tasted better if it wasn't so sickeningly sweet? The boba itself was not as firm or chewy as I would have liked. I almost felt it just blended in with the soggy bits of cookie at the bottom. This drink was about $6 which was definitely not worth it because it was not that good nor was it very large. I recognize that my opinion is skewed because of my drink choice but I just wasn't impressed. **I do want to give props for logo on the drink container with the dancing boba and umbrella. About a 1-1.5: Umbrella Tea House is located in the Township District Center, offering fresh milk teas, fresh fruit teas, sea salt cream teas, smoothies, detox teas, hot teas, coffee, seasonal features, and even snacks (like bubble waffles). After having dinner in the area, we stopped by to get some drinks to go. I had the Strawberry Green Tea, the Pineapple Green Tea, and the Watermelon Red Tea. Unfortunately, all these drinks were super watered down, and you could hardly taste the fruit or the tea itself. Another thing was that one of the drinks had an old dishrag odor to it, so it was swapped out for an Ultimate Ace Milk Tea; however, this seemed like it was made with a milk substitute and wasn't good either. Staff here were friendly. I did appreciate their honesty in stating that the current batch of tea that they had was not strong, so getting another tea-based drink would continue in tasting weak. The space itself is well-decorated, and I loved the faux foliage and treescapes. I'm glad I was able to check this place out, but would not return. I was excited to try the tea here after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away by this place. Perhaps I ordered the wrong things! Starting off with the positives: the ambience of this shop is a trendy study spot with cool lounge music. After getting my drink, I studied here for a while and really enjoyed it. They have free WiFi. The staff are also very attentive and very knowledgeable about the drinks. I was intrigued by the Red Watermelon Tea, which was labeled with a chili pepper icon. It has cayenne for a kick and pieces of watermelon in the bottom. Ever the adventurous one, I had to give it a go. While a unique and interesting combination of flavors, it didn't taste very good. The tea had a very watered down yet tangy flavor, and it was very reminiscent of that raspberry Celestial brand tea. The watermelon was underripe and diced very small, which felt very strange on the tongue. I didn't realize how important the topping size was to the drink experience--too large and it doesn't fit through the straw, too small and your mouth can't figure out what it is. The other drink I tried was the passion fruit tea with boba, which was better. Still, the tea flavor was quite faint. But the boba was fresh-- nice and springy. It seems as though their milk teas are more popular and well-liked... maybe I'll try that one next time. read more

I have had their Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea (w/ cheese top), Spicy Watermelon Red Tea (w/ cheese top), Peach Lemongrass Oolong, and Dragon Eye Oolong Tea w/ Sea Salt Caramel cream top. All were good. My top favorites were the Watermelon Red Tea and the Dragon eye Oolong Tea and the least liked was the Peach Lemongrass Oolong. The shop's décor is inviting and it's a chill place to hangout and enjoy some drinks. The two times I have been here, it's been a busy place. The service is good and the prices are a bit high but reasonable. The Schaumburg area has a good variety of Boba Tea and Smoothies shops and Umbrella Tea House makes for a good addition among those shops. Give them a try. read more

The ultimate ace tea tasted similar to brown sugar milk tea but with additional toppings. It was quite sweet, so I would recommend changing your sweetness level if you don't like overly sweet drinks. The mango peach tea tasted refreshing, and you can tell they use real mango to make it. I think there are a lot of great boba cafes that can compare to the drinks served here, but what sets this cafe apart is the atmosphere. After reading all the reviews, I was really looking forward to this bubble tea place. I don't know if my expectations were too high or if maybe I just had a one off experience. First off, this is one of the best decorated cafe's I've seen for a boba shop. It is very aesthetic and the interior is perfect for your next IG photo. There's Japanese umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, a wall of wooden benches under cherry blossom trees decorated with string lights. Also for anime fans, they have a collection of figurines bordering the kitchen. There's a wide variety of places to sit: vintage couches and chairs by the front entrance, benches along the wall and towards the back there's more tables and chairs. I ordered the Ultimate Ace Milk Tea (without the grass jelly), passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly and an original waffle. The milk tea did not taste good at all. I think the ratio of the tea and milk was off. Even the color was much lighter than typical milk teas. I think they use a powder creamer because that's all I could taste. The passion fruit green tea was not bad. It was way too sweet, I tasted the syrup more than the flavors of the tea. The waffle definitely needs more work. It is very dense and not crispy. A well made bubble waffle should be crispy and light on the inside. From my pictures you can see how it cooked unevenly. It almost looks overcooked on one side and the other side is a much lighter color. I spent about $20 or a little more including tip. The service was great and I wish I would have tried the milk tea before leaving. They seemed very friendly with making any adjustments. If I try this place again in the future maybe I'll try brown sugar milk tea and see how that is. read more

This is the cutest little tea house boba shop you ever want to go to. It's right behind Bonefish Grill in the shopping center. From the minute you walk in it's like a little garden with umbrellas on the ceiling, cherry blossom trees, many different quaint chairs, tables, comfy couches and separate seating areas in the front, side and back of the shop. You feel like you're in a real boba shop in Asia! There is original art work done by the owner (I think) on all the boba cups and it changes out occasionally so there is always something new to see on your cup! I ordered the large ultimate Ace milk boba which tasted amazing!! The shop had good traffic coming and going and I can see why as they really make the drinks look beautiful and very tasty. I have been seeing this place on tiktok for quite sometime. The place is not sobig but the inside is nice. The place was full but not packed. They have social distancing boxes on the floor when falling inline and everybody was wearing a mask. So you order wait a few minutes for your order ans there is this park out back that you can go too, to sit and chat. I ordered the Jasmine Tea which is pretty standard tasting. I love Jasmine. My bro in law ordered the Ultimate Ace Milk Tea it kinda looked like a brown sugar milk tea but not as sweet. My sister ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea and she said it wasnt bad. We walked and the ambience is absolutely beautiful. They have plenty of seating and cute seating too. Their menu has standard boba tea flavors but also some unique ones. We tried the watermelon boba and it was great. It was like watermelon juice with chunks of watermelon and of course boba. When we ordered, we did request the sugar by 25-50% and they easily accommodated our request. The drink was still tasty and sweet enough.
