Very disappointing experience at Tous Les Jours today. The service was extremely rude. The cashier (long black hair) she had an unfriendly attitude from the start--no greeting, no smile, and it felt like she was already irritated. What made it worse was how both the cashier and the owner spoke to me. They raised their voices instead of helping. There was a promotion for 3 bakery items for $5. I accidentally selected 7 items instead of 6, and I clearly told them multiple times that I only wanted 6 and did NOT want the extra item. Instead of fixing a simple mistake calmly, they kept raising their tone at me, which was unnecessary and uncomfortable. As a customer, I expect basic respect and professionalism. This situation could have been handled politely in seconds, but instead it turned into a negative experience. I won't be returning, and I hope management seriously works on customer service. read more

Review on the Tiramisu cake ONLY - Come to TLJ for the pastries is my recommendation - tiramisu is definitely not their specialty and they have their own take on it that is no-rum, no ladyfingers, but rich cocoa powder, so if you're more into a milder, less sweet take on tiramisu, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would go elsewhere for a more traditional one. It's also priced a bit above what I would consider its quality - the flour-based part of the cake was quite dry and didn't seem that fresh. Amazing display of beautiful and delicious choices. I only wish I'd taken more pictures to post and bought more! The friendly cashier wrapped every item carefully and bagged them with care. Also, I always appreciate being asked if there is anything else needed which reminded me I needed coffee as well. The store was very clean, brightly lit and inviting. Selection was a bit limited although I went an hour before closing. I got a Korean sugar donut (spiral), two pastries with sausage in them. Super good when heated up. Not too salty or bland. I got a fresh red bean paste pastry. SUPER fresh. I reached towards the back. The bread was very fluffy and soft. The bean paste was fresh and not too sweet. The ice pistachio matcha was recommended and new by the cashier. He was right! He mentioned how he puts 1 pump instead of 3 and there was a very very small amount of sweetness. If u don't want sweet, do 1 pump. The topping and foam adds some sweetness. Small/regular size was a perfect amount. I paid about $20 for 4 pastries and a regular drink. Upon entering this bakery the aroma of everything sweet was in the air. Such an inviting and warming smell of freshly baked goodness. There is seating in the right and displays and shelves on the left. Breads and pastries and cakes to name a few items here at Tous Les Jours. This place is quite busy and the display area isn't very large. Customers were walking in and out and in between the display cases and the wall. In addition, the register area doesn't have a whole lot of space for moving. This doesn't much matter when the product is delightful. Being that we aren't from the area we purchased many items to try and these include the Whipped Cream bread, Chocolate Dipped Belgium Waffle, Croque Monsieur, Pain Au Chocolat and the Strawberry Crossaint. And we have not tasted one that was not delicious. We also tried the Refresher - Pomegranate Lychee Ade as it was recommended. I wasn't fond but my son was. Cute Korean bakery chain. Nice casual place to go to meet up and chat. Depending on what you get, sometimes it lends too sweet--like a top of tongue sweetness without other rounded flavors to add depth. The breads are usually light and airy, but I prefer when the gluten is more formed to create more of a chew (if that makes sense?). Their savory flavors are fun and have unique ingredients (like kimchi). We got this huge croissant that was surprisingly fun. It's shaped in a circle and rolls inward on itself. We also got a chocolate dipped waffle, but this was just ok. Wish the waffle was crispy. I do like that they used dark chocolate vs the standard milk chocolate. My favorite bakery in this part of the suburbs. I've picked up countless cakes for various occasions here. Most recently, I just picked up the strawberry cloud cake for my cousin's birthday. It was wiped clean. I don't know how they make cake so light and fluffy and cream that is airy and not too sweet. Everything together, especially with the fresh strawberries, is a perfect combination. This will always be my go-to for birthday cakes. read more

This is the Tous Les Jours inside H Mart - Schaumburg. You buy the pastries here and you can take it "to go" or you eat at the H Mart food court (too loud and crowded, btw). Service is adequate. Not friendly, not rude either. The turn off is being charged if you want a box or a plastic bag in which to put your purchases. What a lame and cheap way to treat customers. Stopped by Tous Les Jours for my first time! When walking in, one is greeted by pretty displays of breads, pastries, baked goods, and more! It wasn't the most user friendly for a first timer but I caught on when watching others in the space. One goes to the tray display to grab tongs and a parchment paper sheet before going about the displays and grabbing items of interest. Each display of items for purchase will have a sign with the name, calorie count, and ingredient list. One can grab what they like before taking it to the checkout counter where they will bag it up for you, give you the opportunity to order a drink, and tell you your total. There was a large variety of items, savory and sweet. I got a vanilla filled doughnut, croquette, red bean bun, and an iced lavender latte. Everything tasted fresh, looked appealing, and staff was on top of restocking items while I was there. This spot does a great job differentiating itself from other bakeries in the area and I would recommend trying it out! read more

Today, we checked out a new cafe. We came across good reviews for Tous Les Jours and dropped in! At first glance you notice the clean seating, all the cakes and Korean pastries/breads available. In the corner, the baker was brining out some cake orders and newly baked goods. The baked goods and coffee are all reasonably priced!! Many pastries were only 2-3.50 dollars! I got the apple caramel pastry. I thought it was light and flaky. The apple filling was a typical apple filling but it was really tasty. My wife got honey bread. The crust was too hard for our liking but the inner part was good. We both got lattes. I got an iced vanilla though. We really liked their coffee. Only issue we had was we sat around for 15min waiting for our coffees only to o find out they forgot about us. Luckily, the girl that took the order came out and asked us if we were still waiting on something because we had not left yet. Overall, I would definitely recommend Tous. I'll chalk the lost drink up as a one off mistake. read more

I learned about this place through a co-worker and afterwards I was really interested in trying some pastries. I made it there late on a weekday afternoon and there was plenty of baked goodies left. Wicker baskets are provided to place your intended items in for future purchase. Tous offers a variety of baked things to purchase as well as beverages. Prices were fairly descent and I left with four desserts. I was excited to try the pastries because they all had an artisanal visual appeal to them and they did not disappoint. Each pastry had a light rich buttery flavor and flaky texture to the bread. My favorite was the apple jam mont blanc. I love any good apple pie or apple pie related dessert. It was similar to a fancy upscale apple danish with its fresh sweet apple topping. I also had a guava danish and a fruit tart that were both awesome. I visited Tous Les Jours on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy and crowded. There was not a lot of room around the food area. This is a small restaurant and the line to pay often stretched into the area where you can pick out your food. This area was difficult to navigate because of the volume of people and poor planning for crowds. I was eventually able to get a chocolate avalanche and blueberry cream cheese pastry. My husband and I also ordered a cafe latte and hot chocolate to drink. The food and drinks were phenomenal. I had been to other Tous Les Jours locations and this location met my expectations in regards to the food and drink. I can recommend coming into the restaurant to order your food and drink and eating elsewhere. I found the restaurant to be very unwelcoming. Not only was the restaurant crowded but I also found the eating area loud and dirty. I would return to Tous Les Jours to order and carry out food and drink but not to eat in the restaurant. read more

I had never used this bakery before, but was looking for a new good one, and found this based on Yelp reviews. I ordered a cake for my sister's birthday, and it was delicious and beautiful! I had no idea what to order, just wanted something chocolate. The girl who waited on me suggested chocolate cloud cake. She said she had it for her birthday and it was very good. I just thought this was such a sweet way of helping an old lady figure out what to order! And it was absolutely amazing! Everyone raved about the cake and wanted to know where I got it from. Aside from that, I particularly appreciate their homemade pastries and cakes considering they are always fresh and the texture/flavor are consistent. I admire their quality, which is why I order cake from them whenever someone has a birthday. I traditionally place my orders over the phone, and the process was effortless. When it comes time to pick up the cake, they will present it to you to ensure your approval before finalizing it. It's incredibly considerate of them to include a complementary plastic server and a candle, giving me two less things to worry about. As you can see from the photo, I ordered the green tea and mango cloud cakes, which each had their own distinct flavor. The cake layers are light and the filling is silky; the cake's presentation is visually appealing. I can't wait to place another order because I have a birthday in December. read more

I haven't had the most positive experiences here from long waiting to purchase baked goods to ordering cakes here. 1) If you want anything written on the cake, the cake needs to be ordered 2+ days in advance. This is usually not the case at other places that sell cakes like Whole Foods etc. 2) I ordered a cake 2+ days in advance asking for them to write Happy Bday Dan, but they did not write anything on the cake as requested. We had to go back and ask them to write it for us...which resulted in more waiting (note- we had to wait to pick up the cake too..) then we drove off expecting it to be alright....but when it came to cake time, we realized they spelled the name incorrectly to "Dad" instead of "Dan." 3) I wanted to give it another chance ordering a cake here. Unfortunately, they didn't have the small size cake available for order (even ordering in advance) when there were the small size cakes available in display. Not sure this makes sense. The cake was fine this time around but when I went to pick up the cake, they had a small size cake available (but obviously, I wouldn't be able to have anything written on it if I bought it on the same day). They also didn't include candles or ask me if i needed any. I don't understand why the small cake was not available and think it's bad customer service to not offer the small cake order in advance when it's available same day. I won't be back at this location and don't recommend this place for cake ordering. Handsome Bakery is right around the corner and I haven't had any issues with ordering with them & they have delicious cakes. read more

This place speaks to my soul with so many Asian flavors, it really makes me happy =) I had their matcha cake slice and it was delicious - perfect amount of sweetness while the cake itself was moist (gross I know hahaha) and soft. The matcha cake is very light and perfect to eat with a cup of coffee in the AM or by itself for a midday snack. This place is on the smaller side but it does have a few seating options if you are planning to dine in. The staff is great and friendly. After having sushi, I wanted desserts and with Yelp search I found this close to where we ate so decided to go here. We came here at around 600pm, wow this place was already out of some bakery items so we got the banana bread and taro bread. Both breads were delicious, light , creamy and fluffy tasting. The banana and taro cream inside the bread were delicious. I definitely would be back to try other items. I recommend going here earlier in the day so they would not be out of the bakery items that you would like. Service wise: the cashier was nice and the people that work at the bakery were nice too. Since the last cake we got a couple of days before from Tous Les Jours, had such rave reviews, we decided to get a large cake for Dad's birthday party. This location was the closest. They are located at the outskirts of a strip mall, and Google Maps gave some weird instructions, but we found it. Parking is no problem. They didn't have any mango flavored cloud cake this time (the associate told me that those have to be special ordered), so we picked a strawberry/orange one instead. It was a little over $40. Dad really liked it ("not too sweet"), and for once, people ate all the frosting along with the cake. Like the other location, they give you a nice sturdy box to keep the cake, but this location did not give the complementary cutting knife, nor candles. I didn't notice until I got home..and this time, we really could have used both. read more

The lady in the front was very nice when handling my order and when receiving. I had ordered a strawberry banana smoothie it was about $6 which not too bad considering it was pretty good. No chunks in it, very smooth consistency and not too sweet either. The other part of this which is the actual bakery, many, many options to chose from that are made in house.
