Came tonight to the new opening of the San Ramon location of UME tea! Just like the other locations same great flavors and cute atmosphere. Happy that another location is in this area of the east bay again! I do enjoy the Pleasanton location however I love that this one has seating and offers food and the fun merch that they just don't have the room for in the Pleasanton location. While waiting in line they gave me and other guests a cute bunny balloon to celebrate the store opening! I love the way this location is decorated, a lil bit different then other locations decor in the bay. Hard to grab a seat cause the opening but I'm sure on a normal day you'll be able to! I got 2 bunny surprise cups, it was supposed to be $5.99 for todays special for each one but one of them it was $6.99 cause I had boba in it. However it's still cheaper than usual so it's ok! I'll probably come back for the buy one get one free day and for the tote bag day! Lots of parking close by too. Staff was very friendly and the line moved quick even though it was quite busy! Opening day they had promo 5.99 big cup drink. Huge signs outside and email promos. I got 2, and when paying they overcharged me. Which i showed them the pics of price listed. They adjusted. I love their boba in other locations (yummy flavors, good pricing), but the customer service at this location is severely lacking. I waited 35 minutes for my boba on a Saturday morning. People were cancelling their orders when they realized it would take so long! (saying they didn't want to be late for their appointment/plans) They need more employees working on the weekend or they lose money with canceled orders and people not coming back. Even during the weekdays, they can be really slow at times when there aren't that many orders, moving with no sense of urgency, or understanding that people have time commitments. They have given me time estimates off by 10 minutes and when I asked if it would be done in 2 minutes or I could come back right away after picking up my kid from school, they assure you it should be done in 2 minutes so to stick around, and continue to proceed slowly, not communicate to the other person making drinks, and not finish within that timeframe after all. They do not seem ready to serve when they open, and I've been there after opening time and they tell me they're closed and when I tell them the time they seem surprised ("What time are you open then?", "11", "But it's after 11 now ", "Oh."). As I usually like Ume Tea at other locations, I wish there was better training done here! It would make things so much better! It is now 45 min after I ordered and I'm still waiting for my two drinks. They said sorry for the wait but, sorry, "sorry" isn't good enough. Considering everything is jarred/canned and you're just scooping it into a cup, 45 min is a freaking long time. If they could at least be transparent about how long the drinks will take that would go a long way. They made me wish I never went there before I got my food/drinks. Never coming back. My daughter and I came in at 1:50 on a Thursday afternoon. It wasn't busy, but there were a couple people waiting and 2 staff working behind the counter. It seemed like maybe they were doing more business with online orders. We ordered at the kiosk which was a little tricky to scroll on. It kept thinking we were selecting items when we were only scrolling. We ordered a small drink and chicken strips, original flavor. While the drink was ready earlier, the chicken took 29 minutes to be ready! My daughter didn't think the boba was anything special, and 29 minutes is too long to wait for a small food order. This brand new bubble tea place just opened in San Ramon. The same shopping center with Wings Stop. The drinks are very good and bubble tastes fresh. The line was very long because they just opened and offering specials for the first 4 days. There are only 3 small tables in the shop and not meant for hanging out inside. The drinks came out pretty quick considering the very long line. The only drawback is their choice of music is not appropriate for the business. All kinds of profanity and 'n' words, bitch and fuck words smh. You got the point. They probably didn't realize what kind of music they were playing. Ordered the watermelon lychee tea at 70% sweetness and unfortunately it tasted so bad I actually threw it away. It kind of tasted as if the watermelon went bad/spoiled. My boyfriend and I loved the new boba shop that just opened here in San Ramon. The store is clean, good aesthetics, and drinks are made decently fast. The staff is super friendly from cashier to baristas. My order came out perfect and the promotions for soft opening is amazing. Yumi was our cashier she was super nice and efficient.
