We've successfully processed a fraud claim and were awarded the full amount of the claim. The credit card company will go after the business but I just wanted to share this with anyone who used a credit card for their transaction, we've been made whole again as the police in Roseburg were very helpful but said small claims would be their recommended course of action. Sold an old shotgun on consignment. Checked on it after 2 months and was told it hadn't sold yet. Went to the store 2 weeks later to pick it up and was told it sold a week ago, meant to call you. I asked when I would get my money. Checks usually take a couple weeks to come in I'm told. 3 weeks later, no check. I email, where's my money. Sorry, I forgot. Ok, mail me a check. Another week goes by, no money. I go to the store to get paid, my check is there, dated a week ago. It was NEVER mailed apparently. Who knows when my gun was actually sold. The entire deal is fishy. The vibe was way off. Something wasn't right with this entire thing. If the first check miraculously arrives I'll correct this post, don't wait up. Update... Juan Carlos Ortegon is a shady dude. I ordered a suppressor through him and he strung me along for 5 1/2 months then closed. I had been in contact with him monthly if not every other week to check on the status of my order. He never placed it because he has an outstanding debt with silencer shop. He took my $800 and will not return my phone calls or answer my emails. If he ever opens up another business, be very leery of this man. This business deals in unscrupulous behavior. As a customer I have to wait weeks to get my purchase approved. This is not their fault, this is due to the state of Oregon. However, if you are an acquaints of the employees they will go out of their way to get you approved in just a few days. When the subject is brought to their attention I am told they do not have the time to get me or anyone else approved, even when it is within their power to. Umpqua Survival is a very good store. Their prices are great, their selection in store isn't all that big, but they can order whatever you want with no noticable markups. Personally, I buy a lot of antique firearms from Gun Broker, and get them transferred to Umpqua Survival as their FFL transfers are the cheapest in town. But when I buy new, I buy from them and I have never had reason to go elsewhere. All-in-all, you cannot go wrong with Umpqua Survival, unless you need gunsmithing services, as that is not a service they provide. read more

They carry a very good selection of accessories, including holsters, assembly parts, camping and other outdoor gear. Excellent service. I was hunting for a Glock 17 5th gen MOS and could not find anywhere in Oregon as it is so sought after. Yet this store had one and at the best price I'd heard of anywhere. I live 4 hours away and because these are snapped up so fast I was worried that it would be gone by the time I got there, especially on a Saturday. Sam thoughtfully put my name on the gun, and even though someone else beat me to it, he saved the gun for me. Sam was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. I'm only buying guns and accessories from Umpqua Survival, but they seem to have a great supply of survival gear as well. My husband, who the gun is for, was previously an EMT and he even got a 5% discount. read more

So it's a good store, decent selection it the customer service is lacking. I stop by and the store is empty, the clerk ignores my wife and I. I ask about rifle and I get a short almost rude answer. Then I ask about target stands and the clerk again seem uninterested in helping or being a salesmen. Small business is always complaining about losing customers to the Internet.
