They are extremely trustworthy and informative, keeping you updated every step of the way. They go out of their way to ensure you're fully accommodated. The staff is incredibly thorough and always willing to help with any discounts they can offer to support the customer. As a woman, it can be difficult to find a place you feel confident taking your car-but with this team, that's never a concern. The manager Drew who helped us was very professional and explained what was going on during the inspection process clearly. He was not pushy with trying to make an up sale which I really appreciate! Patrick is one of a kind. He's personable, has a chill vibe and a hard worker. For example, he made me feel like I was at a BBQ chilling with some friends, yet still moved quickly to get his tasks done so I could be on my way to get my brunch from The Pantry. This Uncle Ed's location has never done anything but their best by us. As a matter of fact, Steve, the manager did our oil change today and when he noticed the transmission fluid overflow reservoir was disconnected and loose from an unfortunately sketchy lift kit install we had done by another company, he found the appropriate bolt and reattached it, free of charge. Steve saw fit to make right the shoddy workmanship of a company he doesn't work for. This going above and beyond, and we want to make sure everyone knows what a great experience we've had here. Where do I start? I would say avoid this shop at all costs. Uncle Ed's used to be the leader in the instant oil change industry but have severely fallen off. 1- I asked for Bosch wiper blades which they were out of. The manager went to the back and pulled out a brand I had never heard of and assured me they were better guaranteed. They were absolutely awful. Brought them back for a return and was told the district manager would contact me for the refund. 1 month and 2 calls later to their store and I still have no refund. The techs there have a very snide/know it all attitude. Customer service is not their strong point. Minor inconvenience was that they filled my tires and did not replace the caps. Can't be considered a professional if you don't follow through. By the way, I've been nothing but polite and patient with them. Lastly, do not trust the techs to be honest. They are likely working with direction to sell sell sell. Recommending parts and service that were not at all needed. If you want honest and quality service, I would look elsewhere. read more

Was short on time and needed the oil changed as I was overdue. I will say, the service was great, very professional and nice. The price and the upwelling is ridiculous. That's where I'm dinging them. The price was a good $30 more than I usually spend but as I said, I was short on time. I could have driven away. The upselling was insane. Pushing the nitrogen for my tires over and over. Looking at my wipers as if they were some sort of scientist then asking how are working for you, they look a little worn down. Odd, they are a month old. I get it, it's how they make more money but this was beyond anything I have ever done before. Also wanting all my personal information.... why ? I just got an oil change from these guys and the service was top notch! The car inspection was thorough and the oil change was quick! Highly recommend this Uncle Ed's shoppe specifically, especially if you want quality work done ! This was genuinely the most delightful oil change experience I've ever had, as crazy as that sounds. They got me in immediately during a relatively busy time of day and I was out in 20 minutes! Yesterday i went for an oil change in warren MI. The one on 14 mile and M-53(van dyke). All I wanted is a basic oil change. They showed me on their iPad that it would cost $96 and add$9 for nitrogen gas in the tires. They started to do it. I asked for the manager. He explained there competitor was the dealerships and that there is no wait 3 hours. I just called the same place and they said $49 which is still more than the dealership. Knowing that was not true. I called my chevy dealership and they said cost $39. I am a woman and was wearing scrubs. I am absolutely outraged st the service and false explanation. Trying to take advantage of changing the price depending on who comes in for an oil change. read more

I was at this location approximately a week or two ago. Tom was the technician that preform my oil change. Not only did he perform an oil change. I was very much impressed with the extensive mechanical knowledge he had as it relates to my vehicle. It almost seemed at the blink of an eye that he had completed my oil change in addition had checked all fluid levels and pressures. Further, his overall expertise he gave me some very good advice relative to my transmission fluid. It's really a great feeling to go to an establishment in confidence knowing that they have your best interest at heart. Tom handle my vehicle with the highest level of expertise. You get 5 stars Tom! They may do good work, may be fast and friendly, but come on. I don't know about you, but I don't have an uncle that charges $45 for a basic conventional oil change and filter. I have no idea why people take their car to this chain. I do my own Mobil 1 oil changes and the total parts (with the expensive Mobil 1 filter) cost between $35 and $40. Unkie Eddie wants $90. I understand you're a business and you have to make money but that's a joke. In terms of labor there's no difference between synthetic and conventional changes so why is the markup so huge? As if their exorbitant basic oil and filter prices aren't enough, they're notorious for pushing the add-ons. I only shudder to think what they charge for a basic set of wiper blades. read more
