Is this supposed to be a granola bowl? Or an acaii bowl. How come there's two layers of granola and just a small amount of acaii ? Unacceptable! This bowl is $17 unacceptable!

Hands down best go to ice cream spot in the Bronx. They offer anything from ice cream to soup yes I said it soup but only during the winter time. They switch some of their ice cream flavors according to season but you can still get all your favorites. They carry banana pudding which is deliciously hand made from scratch along with their pastries. Waffle sundaes are amazing! Service is great here everyone's super friendly and patient when you're stuck and can't decide on a flavor. The place has been upgraded so don't think you're walking into your average uncle Louie G's. The decor is picture perfect and inviting. They have outdoor seating so go ahead and treat your date to a sweet nightcap!

Uncle Louie G., a chain of stores, made a comeback into the neighborhood. And, if I'm not mistaken practically at the same spot they held over 10+ years ago. Well before I started making my own soups, Uncle Louie used to be my go to for a quick, hearty warm up. They had a decent variety of soups then and looks like a decent variety now. I didn't make a purchase as I had eaten prior to walking in here and wasn't craving soup nor dessert. Billy, the friendly server, mentioned they also carry New England Clam Chowder on occasion, plus if extra hungry they'll prepare a Grilled Cheese Sandwich for you too. Uncle Louie's Italian Ices and Ice Creams are available year round, though come Fall/Winter that's when they breakout their soup options. I'll give them four stars for cleanliness, friendliness and bringing a little freshness back to the neighborhood. Let's hope their soups are still as good and they stay around for awhile.

Love this place. It's clean. Everyone who works here is nice and patient. They will give recommendations, samples, and customize. We come for ice cream and occasionally a crepe. Tons of selections, something for everyone. And the ice cream isn't old and icy like some places.

Except maybe if you're an all-night gas station, but a deli?…read more That just works in the city that never sleeps because NYC's Finest, Bravest & Strongest are working around the clock, too and come here at all hours of the night. The menu is HUGE! The printed one is 4 pages long, all in a tiny font. Different variations of breaded chicken cutlet, grilled chicken, roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, turkey are combined with American cheese, mozzarella, muenster, provolone, pepper jack on rolls and heroes to make some awesome sandwiches. Toss in some balsamic, honey mustard, bacon, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, red peppers, lettuce, tomato & mayo and you'll have lunch for days. Most of the sandwiches are named by their contents like the Buffalo Chx, but many have unique names like the Corona, the Fat Cat or the Gimp. Then you have names to honor the 24 hr workers like the NYPD, FDNY & DSNY. Don't forget about the hamburger section of the menu, which has like 36 items listed. I'm not exactly sure what a Twin Chzburger Deluxe Couch is, but I have an idea and it kinda scares me. Cherry Valley is a little out of the way here in Northern Whitestone, Queens, which is why I haven't come here before, but I'm going to have to make it a personal mission to come back and try everything. If I'm going to be able to get through the entire menu in what's left of my lifetime, I gotta get started yesterday.

To my horror i had been consuming an ungodly amount of mold with every bite of that horrible croissant. Only god knows how long it had been sitting out. Of course when I noticed this I went back to the deli to tell them. All they could do is give me my 4$ back and tell me to go to a doctor. Now where I messed up is giving them the croissant back instead of sending it off to the health department. Mind you I had a 14 hour flight a few days after this visit to LENNY'S. Horrific! This croissant made me ill of course, and to this day I cannot eat chocolate croissants, I can still feel the webs of mold in my throat. I've ordered numerous times and all of it were quality meals! Not to mention their store is immaculate and has so many offerings in terms of beverage and sweets. My go to is the steak, cheese and egg hero - super great and the steak they use is actually steak cuts and not roast beef like other delis will advertise steak as.

( https://www.instagram.com/p/DQF8Gzekcks/ ). It is a shame because, besides myself, I know a few people that aren't in the neighborhood that travel regularly to G&L. Also its surprising because every time I go the place is pretty packed and occasionally there is a wait. What's also a shame, for me, is that on my recent visit my friend ordered the Steamed Seafood in Lemongrass and this is perhaps the top, or one of the top dishes on the menu. The seafood flavors and balances the slightly spicy lemongrass broth making this a crave worthy bowl. I ordered something out of my wheelhouse - the Coconut Spicy Lemongrass Soup, which on online order menu states its a popular dish. I couldn't see why this dish is so popular because I find other items on the menu superior. They make a tasty pho (especially when paired with a marrow bone). Their sandwiches are well made - I enjoy the different fish ones. I think their Vietnamese coffee could use some work - it is blander than other versions I had tried. Don't be too sad and maybe feel a little optimistic because owner Petra Rickman has a great track record opening interesting, in demand restaurants (This one and Taco Azul have been longtime go-tos in Whitestone). Additionally G&L has a 2nd location with the same menu in Manhattan, which unfortunately for a Queens boy like myself is a bridge too far and a congestion pricing too high for me to make the trek.

I could only eat half while at the resto. Hours later I ate the other half and I and it cold and it was still perfectly delicious. I even tasted more of the flavors this time around. It's been six years since I last came here. The food is still pretty good and the service was…read morefriendly, but overall I found the sandwiches a bit overpriced. The menu has very detailed, almost elevated descriptions that make everything sound spectacular, but in practice the flavors don't quite come through, especially the sauces, which are barely noticeable. Our server was flexible when we asked to swap the potato chips for fries on the kids' grilled cheese meal, which we appreciated. However, we were then charged $1.40 for a side of ranch for the fries. I understand they have a range of specialty sauces and dips that are clearly priced on the menu, but that still felt steep for ranch. They also offer a combo option to add fries for $5, but the portion doesn't really feel aligned with the price. The steak sandwich itself was surprisingly tender, even though it looked like it might be tough. That said, I couldn't taste the roasted red pepper sauce, and the "sweet onion jam" turned out to just be caramelized onions. My mother actually ended up picking them out because she doesn't eat onions. (she won't eat onions that she can see) The buffalo cauliflower was tasty, but could have been crispier. The "serves two" description also felt a bit generous given the small portion. I also ordered a brisket sandwich to go with fries. The coleslaw sounded great on the menu, but in reality the flavors didn't stand out, no real hint of jalapeño, just a fairly standard slaw. Overall, the food descriptions felt more impressive than the actual execution, though the to-go fries portion was more generous, which was a nice surprise. Would I go back? I'm not sure. Maybe for a casual visit with a few beers and fries with an assortment of dipping sauces...I am a sucker for those.
