I have to say very disappointing I will always eat here and I just finished ordering from this spot. Got the Peruvian combo for 2... And the chicken was under cooked and looked raw... and we order Maduros(Sweet Plantains) and they were burn and dried, like they were refried.. the salad look old and brown... Call the restaurant and explain the issue with the order and the first person was really rude like she didn't want to work and didn't care about customer service... asked for the manager and explained it and was not understanding and didn't care about the food that was made.... horrible customer service.... and I will Never be eating there again.... read more

The food here is on point and totally worth it for the price you pay and amount you get. They have great deals like the meal for two with a whole chicken fries rice and a salad all for $18 not bad. I decided to try their food finally, but was too lazy to go out. Thankfully they delivered. The lady who took my order said it would be 40 mins and I think the estimate was right on. Winners: 1) seafood soup. Very flavorful and hearty without being salty. It tasted better the next day. 2) seafood ceviche - fresh and light. Good: rotisserie chicke. Just got 1/4 piece to try it out. The chicken was moist and well-flavored. Eh: shrimp chaufa. The rice wasn't quite done or just really dry. They did give a lot of shrimp though. These 4 items ran $40, so not cheap. However, I love that their food isn't too salty and portions are generous. I now have a go-to place if I'm craving ceviche. Delivery took 2 hours... First phone call was at 11:19pm, two more phone calls were made to ask where our food was within the 120 minutes it took for our cold soggy lunches to arrive at 1:20pm. And when you have an annoyed customer on the phone asking where their 2 hour late lunches are, it is not very professional or helpful to call the caller "Doll" or "Honey". A terrific lunch spot thats near Maywood market and Moon Doggie Coffee Roasters so we stock up when we visit here. We go just before or after the busy lunch hour so getting a table and quick service isn't a problem. Parking is a hit or miss though. We've been coming here for years now, sometimes with the whole family, but usually with friends and co workers. Their pricing is reasonable and the food is simple and feels like Homemade. This is my spot where I order the quarter chicken with cilantro rice because it's always juicy and seasoned well. Other favs: The Lomo, Yuca Frita that comes with a mild cheese sauce, beef empanadas with green sauce, fried rice with a fried egg on top, and they have daily specials as well. Food is always delicious and the whole staff is friendly and helpful. Portions for some things like the lomo saltado aren't very big, but still tasty nonetheless. Then said the driver was to far for them to correct my order and deliver the missing item. They made me come in to correct my delivery order. I had eaten here one time in the past several years ago and enjoyed it. Fortunately I don't live nearby or get to this area often . Today I was in the area with my best friend today and decided to impress him with Peruvian food. We had good service, food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. This was the second time I had Peruvian food, and I gotta say it was better than my first. A bunch of friends ordered tray-size of the lomo saltado, rotisserie chicken, yellow rice, as well as some plantains. The rotisserie chicken just by itself is pretty standard, but you just gotta have it with the "green sauce". Whatever is in that green sauce (my tastebuds told me it's cilantro, lime, jalapeno, and other things), it changed the game for rotisserie chicken. First and last time I order here . This spot is horrible , I spoke to Jessica to complain about no sauces . My soup is tasting horrible and is missing cheese . She said the owner isn't there . And that they sent the delivery guy home . I find it incredible I spent over 35 dollars and I couldn't get sauces . On top of that the fries aren't fresh they are old . As everyone knows Peruvian food is well known to be excellent, I have been in this place twice I have to say the food wasn't as good as I was expecting! The chicken isn't seasoned and very dry ( over cooked) arroz Chaufa is alright! , jalea is ok! Chupe de camarón service is so so , I need to find a better Peruvian restaurant near , el tiburón restaurant is way too far but food is amazing !! Especially the restaurants located in predominantly Caucasian towns where the clientele does not know wha real Peruvian food is supposed to taste like! I was just at Uncle Paulie's with my husband and 2 kids because we were in the area. We ordered the simple and most popular dish "Lomo Saltado". It was terrible. Salty, salty, salty!!!! I've ordered delivery for lunch at work but never for dinner. I thought my husband might enjoy the food, since the lunch wasn't bad, so we decided to order from uncle Pauline's last night. We ordered a whole chicken, the seafood chowder, four beef empanadas, yuca fries, avocado salad and rice and black beans. The total was over $48.00. I was told the food wouldn't be ready for 45 minutes. We arrive just on time, there was several people who appeared to be waiting for their order. We had high expectations and was looking forward to enjoying our dinner, but boy was I wrong. My first bite of the rice and beans revealed that it was cold and salty. Moved on to the chicken, super salty. The salad had brown pieces of lettuce. Our meal went progressively bad to worst, when we tried the seafood chowder. It was warm and had absolutely no taste. It would appear that they ran out of salty, since it was used everywhere else. We ended up throwing away the rice, beans and the chicken, because It was so salty I was afraid to feed it to dogs. Someone should consider using kosher salt, especially if you are heavy handed. Beware if you have high blood pressure, this may not be the place for you. Bottom line, we won't be returning to uncle Pauline's, if I do it would be for the yuca fries and nothing more. read more

Been meaning to write this review for a few weeks now.. We ordered take-out here and got the Peruvian combo for 2. You get a whole chicken, salad, fries, rice and a 2 drinks. It came out to about 18 bucks, not bad at all for the amount of food you get. Chicken was super moist! Very delicious. They gave us so much, rice, i want to even say too much. Salad was good, fresh ingredients. The customer service is great. The young lady on the phone taking the order was very sweet. Even when walking in to pick up the food, they were all very welcoming. First of all, DO NOT ORDER THE FOUNTAIN WATER. I came here for the first time about two weeks ago, I ordered the fountain water and was given a glass of water with little particles floating around. I told the waitress and she gave me another cup with the same particles floating around in the water. My friend also asked for an inca cola and the cup his came in had a black speck inside one of the ice cubes. I came here to give it a second chance last night, once again had the same problem with the water, there were green particles floating in it. But this was the final straw. When given my salad, I found a piece of PLASTIC in the salad. So ridiculous. The waitress did offer to replace the salad, with no further comment on the item I found in my food. Small place in the heart of Maywood which is always packed with customers. Ordered the combo for 2 which came with a whole rotisserie chicken, fries, avocado salad and soda. Great value at $18. The chicken was super moist and had a nice flavor especially with the green sauce! That sauce is legit! It has a creamy cilantro with just a hint of heat. The rice was standard as were the beans. Not much more to talk about there. I was really surprised by the fries because they weren't good at all. Very soggy and not a pinch of salt. The salad was pretty standard but the mustard base dressing was tasty. The empanadas were crisp and filled with beef, really enjoyed them. Overall the apps and main were great but the sides could use a little more love. 3.5 if damn Yelp would allow half stars but the green sauce pushed me to the 4! read more

Have had take out from here multiple times and have never had a bad meal! Each item I've had has been very flavorful and I want to work my way through the menu. Haven't sat down to eat but the employees and owner have always been very friendly and always checking on the tables while I'm waiting for my food to be ready. My go-to meal was originally yhe typical rotisserie chicken with rice and beans. The chicken is always well prepared and juicy. I've also had the seco de carne as well as the bistec encebollado a few times and they're always delicious! I will admit I do not know traditional Peruvian food but my friend who was born there swears by this place and goes all the time saying it is very authentic. The food is on the salty side but my friend mentioned above also puts salt on EVERYTHING so I'm chalking it up to the national taste. I also don't put salt on ANYTHING so I think many things are salty. I keep forgetting to ask if they can make my order with less salt. Hopefully I'll remember next time. Their lunch specials are a great value! Pass on the salad with avocado. Plain iceberg lettuce, 2 cucumbers, 2 tomatoes, and 1/4 avocado with a bland dressing.
