Fresh as ever seafood. Menu has not changed and they will cook anything they have any way you want it. Service is also very nice.

Seafood Gourmet @ Maywood A place where you can get a decent seafood meal as well as shop fresh seafood. It's a cozy little place where locals gather. We've been here multiple times and have been secretive !!!!!! Hahaha Would not want it to be busier than it already is !!! I usually (8/10) get the lobster salad sandwich on a toasted hero that comes with potato chips and pickle ($30). We ordered seafood salad ($18) this time. If you order from the Lunch Special menu, you will not be disappointed.

I had an urge for a fried flounder's sandwich for lunch and my sweetheart and I decided to visit Maywood after doing a little shopping. If you want fresh seafood this excellent spot serves up some great dishes. Friendly attentive service in a busy little quaint place to eat. This place is fantastic! It's byob so come prepared.

I was eating at another restaurant the other day and saw they had Chilean Seabass on the menu and really wanted it however here they had it for less than half that price and knew it would probably be better and so I waited and came here. I ordered to go the lunch portion (at dinner time. Yes you can!) of the Seabass and rice pilaf. When I arrived at the store I saw they had to take home Clams Casino, six for only $7.50, so I did that. The clams were fantastic and the Seabass could not have been cooked more perfectly. The lunch size portion was perfect for me, a thick palm size fillet which goes for quite a bit these days and they got amount of rice. Perfect as always.

Seafood Gourmet in Maywood, NJ is an absolute hidden gem! I got the linguine with clams, a large fried calamari, and New England clam chowder for takeout -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The linguine was loaded with tender clams, the calamari was crispy and golden without being greasy, and the chowder was rich and creamy with plenty of clams. I honestly had no idea this neighborhood market/restaurant existed. There's a full fish market in the front with beautiful fresh seafood, and a cozy restaurant in the back. I'm definitely coming back soon to try more of their fresh catches straight from the market menu. Highly recommend if you love seafood done right!

If you're ever in Maywood, NJ, do yourself a favor and step inside the unassuming exterior of Seafood Gourmet - it's a delightful hidden gem that feels like a warm hug from the past! The initial vibe may remind you of a classic fish market, but trust me, once you make your way to the back dining room, you're in for the meal of a lifetime. I found myself reminiscing about my first visit over 12 years ago. This place truly stands the test of time! For our lunch adventure, we kicked things off with mouthwatering Maine Steamers and a rich, creamy New England clam chowder that transported us straight to the shores of New England. For the main event, we indulged in the blackened combo platter featuring perfectly seasoned seafood with tasty potatoes and veggies, and a hearty bowl of calamari with angel hair pasta tossed in zesty fradiavolo sauce - yum. The staff? Absolutely delightful! They are super friendly and incredibly accommodating. Don't forget to take advantage of their fantastic lunch specials--they're a steal for the quality you receive! The food was amazingly good. The sauces were superb. The seafood is beyond fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. Very attentive staff. The space itself is tight and small. It was loud. The restaurant doesn't have control over that aspect. They do have it nicely decorated for the space.

Service is always on point. Located to the rear of the fish store, clean fresh smell. Quaint and pleasant. But I am here for the fresh seafood. Best in the area. Cooked anyway you want it. Specials are the way to go. Will be back 100 times.

Yesterday we bought a small order of potato salad, a small order of macaroni salad and a bottle of cocktail sauce at a cost of just under $25.00. I believe I was way overcharged. Message received - we won't return.

I was very excited to finally try this place, but it was not as great as everyone hyped it up to be. Was contemplating between giving 2 or 3 stars, but there are 2 things that I really liked, hence the final score is 3 stars. ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** Let me start off by telling you what were the 2 good things I had here. The lobster bisque was good and what I thought was really, really, really good was the fried calamari. My nephew was with us and he really enjoyed his steamed lobster, so maybe it's technically 3 delicious things we tried there. And, our waitress was super nice and attentive. However, the other food we ordered were not bad, but not good. It lacked flavor and salt. Everything was bland. We ordered the following. - hot antipasto for 2 (stuffed mushrooms, stuffed clams, scallops wrapped in bacon, fried calamari, and stuffed shrimp) - I loved the calamari and the scallops wrapped in bacon and the rest was just ok -broiled fresh catch combo (shrimp, scallop, fillet) - I strongly regret getting this -chicken parmigiana - the serving was huge -the special of the day - soft shell crab -steamed clams - we were given warm water/clam juice to rinse the clams before dipping them in butter, but even with intense rinsing, there was so much sand, so we couldn't eat it anymore. Sorry, this was a no for me. Maybe if I do go back, I'll have to try something else that will definitely be good or maybe there will be more salt and flavor to their food. Tips; - Parking is free in the area, but there are usually limits, such as one hour parking. - I highly recommend making a reservation because the dining area is very small and tight. Also, this place is not good for big groups because the biggest table was for 4 people. - There are non-seafood items on the menu, too.

G Mart is named in honor of Gee's father, Shunwah Gee; it has fresh produce, live seafood, and authentic groceries from Asia--the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, China, Japan, & beyond. The huge store is spotless, bright, well-stocked, and organized, making it easy to find everything one needs. The shopping aisles are large for easy navigation. Their produce section is full of vegetables not always found in most American-oriented grocery stores, including baby butter bok choy, enoki mushrooms, red meat dragon fruit, Korean pears, and Chinese leeks. They provide a large selection of fresh seafood, including those that are relatively hard to find in other stores. Unfortunately, there is no bakery or prepared food on site like other Asian markets. Prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly. This is a new option for Asian groceries.

It's bright, sparkling clean, and has a pretty comprehensive selection of Chinese and other Asian specialty products and ingredients that you won't find in regular grocery stores, all arranged with meticulous neatness. There are exotic produce, fresh meat and seafood (many live fish varieties) and I saw lobster for $8.99/lb, wow! I especially enjoy browsing the household goods and cookware sections, and the cool pottery and flatware. On a recent visit, the most memorable discovery wasn't on any shelf: a remarkably enterprising 12yo girl was hawking Shanghai-style shepherd's purse buns alongside her father, and they were absolutely the real deal! I don't remember the brand, and there's no guarantee they'll be back, but if you spot the duo, don't walk past without buying some. G Mart is a fantastic alternative to other Asian markets in the area, and it deserves every bit of word-of-mouth it can get.
