He failed to show up again. I called a few times and left a few voice-mails. He finally returned my call 3 weeks later saying he'd be over in the next few days. That way, he will file extension after extension until the bank will tell you you have to close or you will lose you rate. Now since you have have to close on your home or you will lose your rate, he is able to close on your home leaving a lot of things half way done. You would think there would be some consequences for not finishing on time, not for the contractor! Just you losing your rate. Not only that, the quality is awful. They will take every short cut in the book. You have to tell them to repair every little thing or they will try to get by with not doing it. Rick will say "oh well that doesn't look too bad". Rick will blame everything on his workers and say "yeah they should have done that better". It's the CONTRACTOR'S job to make sure it's done correctly! Even though you have a warranty of a year after closing on your house, he will take forever to come back and repair something. I thought I was going to have to hire a lawyer to get Rick Kirby to come back to my house and repair somethings he half way did. Really, if you are going to build a house, you need to look elsewhere.
