Everytime that I go to Robson street I wanted to get the Japanese cheesecake. I finally had the chance to try it. It is soo good, soft with enough flavor. Perfect to share it with friends or eat it by yourself as a dessert

I had my first of their cheesecake in San Jose and was really happy to hear there was one in Vancouver! You cannot beat their original cheesecake. It's light and fluffy and not like regular cheesecake. I feel you need to get 2 if it's something you really like (in this case, I would've gotten 2 haha) it's that good! The person at the front desk was kind enough to explain their cheesecakes and cheese tarts. If you do get the cheese tarts, it's best that they chill in the fridge so they can harden a bit. We got ours on the way home to Seattle and it was not set haha, more like custard liquid. Their Yuzu flavor is limited, I didn't ask how long it ran for but prob between spring and summer. I didn't get a chance to try it but if they decide to keep it, I'll try for next time -- love Yuzu! They also have a matcha one. This one is on Robson street in downtown Vancouver, street parking and if you're lucky to find a spot! The parking goes by the meter but they do have an app to pay by card.

The staff were friendly and helped with questions we had since it was our first time there. I loved the decorated wall art. The cheese tart is absolutely delicious, I would probably eat 20 of them if I could. We tried the regular cheesecake and it was light and fluffy but felt like it was missing a little extra flavour pizazz. If there had the matcha cheesecake available that day I would have loved to try it. TLDR: Try the cheese tarts

The yuzu flavor I can't really taste it on the tarte. Wish I could taste it more. Would probably not come back.

A small shop but the menu is pretty straight forward where you can be in and out quickly. I walked by and wanted to try the cheesecake because Japanese cheesecake is considered more soft and pillowy. What we got was very custardy almost *too* underbaked. The flavor just tasted like a normal custard which was alright for the most part but we couldn't get over how underbaked it was. :(. I love a custard, but I know this wasn't how it should've came out. The small is pretty large though, I'd say it feeds maybe 4-6 people. The service was average. A quick and efficient interaction. Bummed about the flavor, but I'm happy I got to pop in!

Am I crazy, or is this the BEST cheesecake I've ever eaten? So light! Fabulous texture. Not too sweet, not too rich, less calories than typical cheesecake (more egg whites, less cheese, less sugar). I'm completely smitten!!

I've never encountered an Uncle Tetsu location that I haven't liked - this one doesn't offer the full product line (there are flavored cheesecakes at other locations - mmm strawberry and matcha), but it's serviceable. They do have the cheese tarts and the original cheesecake, which are really the items that I order consistently. The cheesecake was the soft, airy-but-creamy consistency that any Japanese cheesecake lover knows and adores. The cheese tart wasn't quite set; it could have used some chilling (it was being held at room temp). Service/facilities are perfunctory - they have a walk-up counter with one employee manning a register, and there's pretty much no room in the lobby to do anything other than to spin around and walk out the door with your goods, post-payment. Plan on sampling the wares elsewhere!

I tried their cheese tart and unfortunately it wasn't as good as their competitor on the same street. The pastry was hard, the tart was more eggy than cheesy. It was a decent one.

Have you heard of the Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake? Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake てつおじさんのチーズ serves well-known Japanese style cheesecake. The main difference between Japanese cheesecake and American cheesecake is the Japanese cheesecake is very light and fluffy. It's so amazing to watch them prepare their products through the open window. We have walked over many times, and it feels really good when you can smell the cheesecake take out from the oven. It is located on Robson Street in Downtown Vancouver I personally prefer the Downtown Vancouver location. I find their cheesecake is more consistent on soft, fluffy, and creamy. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: ‍‍‍‍‍5/5 Kids: 3/5 A-OK for kids. Price: 1/2Less than $20 for two (dessert) Presentation: 2/5 Parking: Paid street parking Tips: * is a delicious gift for a real cheesecake lover. * bakes fresh throughout the day. * sells matcha cheesecake at the Downtown location. * should go early if you want to have their matcha cheesecake. Would I Return: Yes ‍

We were lucky enough to try this as it's been on our bucket list! We found the initial taste to be good, not too sweet. The service and staff were quick with our order and were very kind. We found that it broke apart too easily, leaving it in the fridge made it a lot better. All in all, great place but it was a tad expensive.

What' a treat. I still haven't enjoyed the cheesecake because you have to by a whole one but the Madeline is absolutely delicious and not too sweet. Think of It as a soft muffin. It's a walk up establishment so don't plan on sitting down as there is no available seating

This must be a new location of Uncle Tetsu. I first had it when I lived in Toronto years ago, and am glad it's now in Vancouver (it's been in Metrotown for a while)! They don't do samples or sell by the slice, so here's the deets: Each cheesecake is around 6 inches, $13. It's a simple Japanese souffle cheesecake (ingredients: cream cheese, eggs, butter, sugar, flour). This is very different from a NY style cheesecake. Think fluffier, spongy, and airy. Not too sweet either. It's a perfect dessert to share and won't leave you feeling bloated. Try it! Worst case, you lose $13. Best case, you've found your new favorite Asian dessert!

Loved this place!! You can't go wrong with cheesecake, and this was my first time trying Japanese-style cheesecake! Super fluffy and light, and at a great price $15/ea. We stopped in after an afternoon of shopping and there was a like out the door!! That's how you know it's going to be good. Definitely go for the Madeleines as well - they were some of the best Madeleines I've ever had!! Super fluffy on the inside and quite large. Will absolutely be back!

I've only been to the original location on Robson years ago, so wasn't sure if the quality had stayed the same, but we thought it was worth trying. We ordered a Tiramisu and a Bresilienne to share between four people. It came out it in relatively short time. And wow, they were both even better than I remember. Their waffles are incredibly crisp and light, despite the amount of toppings on them. I don't know how they make them so they stay so resistant to going soggy. And despite the amount of whipped cream, ice cream and sauce on them, the waffle was always able to balance out the sweetness. Their waffles are just perfect balance of flavour and texture. Service was also quite impressive. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, and brought share plates with out being asked. Overall, a great dessert. I don't know why I haven't returned earlier.
