We were a group of 6. We had some coffee and hot and cold chocolate. We had the carrot cake, tiramisu and Bing Soo. The cakes were good, nothing crazy. We've had better Bing Soo elsewhere, but it's not bad. The lone Barista was fast, efficient, but friendly. I jokingly said she could be a K Pop star---very attractive and friendly. She handled the crowd easily. The place is spacious enough. Parking is quite limited.
We stopped here for Korean shaved ice and it blew my mind. The mango was so good and tasty. Fluffy and full of flavor.
Came here for dessert after dinner with a group of 7 and ordered a tiramisu shaved ice, strawberry shaved ice, mango shaved ice, a tiramisu croffle, a strawberry matcha latte and a chocolate strawberry latte. The shaved ices were all delicious and my favourites were the strawberry and mango ones. The tiramisu came in only the large size so it was huge and had a big slice of tiramisu topping it. The drinks left much to be desired.. The strawberry matcha latte was probably one of the worst I've had, with the matcha not being dissolved properly, making it super powdery and bitter. The matcha they used was definitely a low grade culinary matcha. I could only manage a couple sips before tossing it. The chocolate strawberry latte was bought as a replacement for the strawberry matcha, and it was better but super sweet. We had to let the ice melt before drinking it. I would definitely come back again for their shaved ice but am skipping the drinks next time!
Great place to get bingsoo! It's a bit on the pricey side for shaved ice, but it's worth treating yourself once in a while. The mango was recommended, so we had this one. I really thought it was one of the best korean shaved ice I have ever had and would love to go for this again, trying other flavors. The service is quick and efficient. The staff was helpful with giving an idea of the portion sizes. I only wish that tiramisu came in a smaller size. The decor is cute and cozy. I'd come back to try more flavors.

It was served with small bits of what appears to be frozen mango. Previously and as shown in many Yelp photos here, it was large fresh cut chunks. This is also how it appears on their menu. We were deeply disappointed, partly because they charged $17.50 for a large. We complained. While there was no apology offered, they did offer extra mango topping. But it just dampened the whole experience. The extra noisy table of 10 youngsters next to us did not help neither.

Passion8 has been my go-to spot for quite some time now and I have always tried a new flavour and never been disappointed! However, my favorite would have to be Mango Bango or Taro! It's shaved ice + ice cream + mango (or taro)... who wouldn't want that?! Their portion are huge! if you get there large, it is like a whole meal. I usually get a large to-go and have it the next day. Life hack to beat the heat this summer :)

I don't think they have the toasts on their menu anymore (although the person who took our order mentioned they were out of stock of a few things, so maybe that was one of the things that was greyed out on the menu) - it was just shaved ice, cake slices, and drinks. The menu as it is still offers lots of options. I was sorely tempted by the beautiful carrot cake in the display, but I had my heart set on shaved ice, so I got the injeolmi snow and an americano to offset the cold dessert in the cold weather. The shaved ice was very creamy, and I enjoyed the nutty flavour of the liberal dusting of soybean powder and red beans with the chewy mochi. There was one big mochi ball on top but I was surprised by how many smaller mochi pieces were mixed in. They definitely did not skimp on toppings for either my shaved ice or for my friend who got the mango snow. My americano actually exceeded my expectations, it was pretty strong and had a rich flavour. Order at the counter and they'll call out your order when it's ready for you to pick up. The person working the front was very nice and gave my friend recommendations. The ambiance is nothing fancy but we found it very comfortable and relaxed.
Cute dessert shop on Cambie and 14th that serves mostly bingsoo (milk shaved ice) as well as some drinks and toast. There's a tiny parking lot in front with 4 spots, but chances are it'll be full and you'll have to do street parking nearby. My party of 4 came by Sunday afternoon around 3:30 and it was pretty empty. It was a hot day out, so some cool bingsoo was exactly what we needed. We ordered two large Mango Bongo's to share, at $16.90 each. It comes with fresh mango as well as small homemade cheesecake pieces and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The Mango Bongo was really good... the mango was super fresh and sweet and went well with the shaved ice. There was some more mango flavor deep into the bingsoo, but I would've liked to be surprised by more mango or perhaps something crunchy instead, to keep things interesting.
Imagine a Bingsoo as big as a tire! Not quite. A bingsoo is a Korean dessert made of shaved flavoured ice (typically milk) topped with all kinds of goodness - fresh fruit, chocolate syrup, matcha sauce etc. Passion8 does a good job with its authentic flavour and presentation. The mango topping is generous and most refreshing especially after eating a spicy bowl of ramen or anything spicy at all. It is a self serve concept so service is rather minimal. They use to provide a water station but that was removed. Instead they sell bottled water. Still I revisit frequently so this place must be approaching 4 stars to me.
Remains a great spot for an icy treat! Tried the large matcha, and it was great! The toppings all worked very well, including the cake, mochi, red bean and whipped cream.
I came here on Aug 4th with my coworkers for dessert. It was busy here as usual. It took us some time to find seats here. We waited for 20 minutes for Bingsoo to come and it did not disappoint. We ordered small Injeolmi Bingsoo ($11) and Mango Bongo ($12). My coworkers really liked Mango Bongo, but I liked Injeolmi for the savory sweetness. Mango Bingsoo was sweet and tasty. Injeolmi Bingsoo wasn't too sweet which I really liked. The rice cakes inside Injeolmi Bingsoo were very soft. Ice shavings were soft and milky, YUM! Even the freeze dried orange topping was so damn tasty. Mango Bingsoo had some chopped mangos, chopped cream cheese along with ice shavings underneath. Passion 8 is an awesome place for a dessert fix or summer treat. They also sell Croffle, sweets, toasts and drinks as well.
Stumbled upon this place when walking around in Vancouver with a friend. We ordered the small strawberry blossom bingsoo and it was delicious! Their shaved ice was so light and pillowy with a balanced sweetness. I wish there were more than just 4 small cheesecake bites, but there were a ton of sliced strawberries all throughout the tower. The vanilla ice cream top was also a good addition. This is definitely a place that I'll come to again to try out some delicious sweet treats!
There are a lot of tables inside and their shaved ice is delicious! I tried their red bean bingsoo and the only thing I didn't like was the pretzel cookie on top and the whipped cream, but the rest was delicious and refreshing!

Yum! My first time having bingsu and I definitely prefer it over HK or Taiwanese shaved ice. Heavenly texture. I wish instead of cheesecake it was some mochi texture but it was still amazing with the chunks of cheesecake, mango and ice cream. The milk snow was soo tender. A bit pricey but I guess that's the economy? Would return if I had a serious craving but deterred slightly by the price. read more
This place located off of Cambie St. offers great tasting Bingsoo. However, the prices are on the higher end, and the portions are not generous. For $16, the mangoo bingsoo was just enough for one person. The service is efficient and polite. The inside of the restuarant is clean and quiet. They have a small parking lot in front that can hold three cars. read more

We came on a Sunday afternoon at around 2:30pm. There was only one other table other than us inside. They are usually more popular at night. We got their mango shaved ice. Service was really nice and they were pretty quick in making it. I loved the separators between each table making it more private. Overall the mango ice wasn't too sweet and the mangoes tasted fresh. I like that they layered some mango syrup in between the layers to keep it from getting boring. Great place to hang out read more

Bingsoo isn't usually my dessert of choice since I'm not a huge fan of milk, but wanted to try this place upon recommendation! It was also one of the few dessert places open later at night, which was good. We came around 30 minutes before closing so we had to get takeout, which unfortunately only comes in a large size even if you wanted small. So, we got the large matchacha shaved ice which had matcha powder, red beans, mochi, and some sort of cheese like tasting balls. I will say this was definitely better than the bingsoo I've had in the US. They gave plenty of matcha powder and other toppings, and it was a pretty satisfying treat. Parking in the area is quite limited and a little chaotic, but it's a pretty cute place overall. read more

Ordered the large mango bingsoo for $22. Disappointed that it felt barely filled up, any other place I've ever been to has been nicely stacked up, especially for the price. The bingsoo itself was ok, a little too sweet and the texture was compact not light and fluffy. Overall a disappointing experience, would not come back. read more

This is a Korean dessert restaurant serving the dinner and late-night crowd. I arrived on a Tue at 9:25pm and the last seats were just taken so I had to wait 20 mins. And it was worth It! They sell the Korean Snow Mountain (snow flake ice dessert), cake slices, various coffees, and dessert thick toast. Their larger size snow mountains are $3.50 to $4.00 more. And they have pastry pizza!? I had the "Mr. Choco Brown", small, $9.50. It has homemade brownies, chocolate flakes with chocolate ice cream on a snow mountain. I also met another foodie Instagrammer from mainland China (she was on vacation). So we sat together. She had the "Multigrain_Injulmi", small, $8.00. It consists of Korean style beans powder and mochi with red bean on snow mountain. Her friend from Vancouver had a Mojito drink (sparkling soda), $5.25. The cashier and server was courteous. She will bring your desserts on a try to your table. There is free self-serve water. There is free WiFi. There are washrooms. They have 3 parking spots in front of their restaurant. read more

I discovered this place rather randomly because I was looking for Wi-Fi since I don't live around here. Fortunately, they do! I ordered the Mr. Choco Brown snow mountain and it not only cut, but quite delicious! The texture was incredibly soft like snow--not icy at all. It's a great place to hang out on a warm day and enjoy a smooth dessert in a comfortable setting. If I'm in the area, I'll certainly return. read more
WHEN: Friday @ 4pm We came at the time there wasn't many people (maybe because they open at 3pm). This place is just so cute! They even have their own parking lot! They wonderful young lady at the register was super helpful when we made our order. I hope we weren't being too difficult. Here's what we ended up having: SNOW MOUNTAIN - MATCHACHA - $8.50 (Single) This is 100% Milk shaved ice, with matcha on top, and some small pieces of rice cake (mochi) and cheesecake. We don't like red bean, so we were able to have that be replaced with chocolate ice cream! How nice of them to allow that! I honestly did not like the rice cake, as it was chewy with no flavor nor sweetness. Not worth being in my tummy hehe. I liked the cheesecake though and everything else! What a lovely presentation! PINK PANTHER TEA LATTE (iced) - $5.75 This gorgeous drink is Earl Grey and Strawberry. It's sweet and refreshing! I'm so glad gave this a try. This place has a simple/subtle cute decoration and looks like it could get really packed. I'm so glad we came during an off hour where we practicably had the entire place to ourself! Bingsu (shaved ice dessert) is the perfect break from a hot day. Their berry and cheesecake bingsu was alright. I liked the mix of the fresh blueberries with the blueberry sauce. I also loved the two small slices of plain cheesecake that's on the bingsu. I could have done without the random pieces of cereal. The vanilla ice cream scoop on top was mediocre. The shaved ice didn't have much flavour, but there was a generous amount of it. Their shaved ice also leans more towards the icy rather than the smooth side. Price was a bit steep -$16 for a large, or $12 for a small (aka tiny). read more
Latest Korean style dessert place in town. Parking is available in the lot in front of the building, as well as on the side streets. The interior looks European style. Nice and new. My only complaint was that the all of the windows were seriously fogged up. They need to dehumidy the place. There's a curious looking alcove on the side. If this is a storage area, they did a really good job hiding it. Staff were friendly. The cakes here are quite good. Not the cheapest at $7 a slice, but they are way less sweet than many western places, which I like. The hot chocolate I had was pretty good too. This place also has bingsu, though I didn't try this time. Although I'm not much of a dessert guy, I wouldn't mind coming by here again. Recommended. read more

Came here for the first time because I was in the area and was craving shaved ice. Ordered the larger size of Mango bingsu with my boyfriend! We were easily able to finish it even after dinner. It was delicious -- mangos seemed fresh and the cheese cube things on top were really yummy too. The shaved ice they use seems to be made from milk instead of ice, so it gave each bite the right amount of pleasant sweetness. The owner was super sweet and recommended the crowaffle as well which I will try next time! It's usually pretty busy here because it is so popular. Nearly all of the tables were full and I was lucky enough to have someone leave when I entered the place. read more

I don't know why i dont read my own reviews before coming...but I came and got the mango bongo with my mom and dad and again, I was underwhelmed with it. It is 11 dollars for a single now which I find quite expensive! Although the mangoes were sweet, there wasn't enough textural contrast compared to the injolmi or green tea shaved ice. I did like that it came with ice cream instead of whipped cream but overall, the whole thing is much sweeter. I honestly think this review especially reflects a personal preference because I just dont really like fruit bingsoos but both my mom and dad do so that's the one I went with. The milky ice is still soft and fluffy but I think the prices have gone up a bit too much. read more
Definitely a nice place to hit up if you are craving some yummy dessert. We got the matcha & manga bingsoo and they were super yummy. I just love how the shaved milk was smooth and not clumpy. It was also not overly sweet so you could definitely keep chowing down on it. I also love the small pieces of cheesecake they top on the bingsoo but that's my personal taste. Would definitely recommend everyone trying this place out read more
Popped in here for dessert after dinner a few days ago and really enjoyed it. It's near Cambie and Broadway in an area with many restaurants, so it's a great place to go after a meal. At first glance, the prices seem pretty steep for Korean shaved ice (bingsoo) but the large size portion is enough to share for 3-4 people. We got the mango bongo which had vanilla shaved rice, mango cubes, fresh cheesecake cubes, and vanilla ice cream on top with a mango drizzle. It was a very light dessert - not overly sweet but still very satisfying. Korean shaved ice is much lighter than regular shaved ice. They have a variety of flavors, including matcha, choco bear (cute), blueberry Cheesecake, etc. I want to come back to try their colorful iced lattes next time. The place is brightly lit with adequate seating. Overall pretty yummy shaved ice to share with friends on a summer day. I haven't had a lot of Korean shaved ice, so can't say it's the best, but I definitely liked it enough to recommend it. read more

The place is pretty cute and it has parking spots. The bingsu deciration is very nice. Serving is quick and place is clean. So why 3 stars? To be honest, I don't like bingsu from here. Too much ice and after the topping, it's almost nothing but ice in the huge bowl. The topping is not so good either. I got a chocolate bingsu to share with my friend and we can't finish it. read more
It's been so long we can't have a shaved ice date. And a couple of days ago, we need to make a trip to the city center to pick up my glasses, so we decided to go to Passion 8 since we had speared time and the store is nearby. In the beginning, I am still a bit worried about Takeout orders for shaved ice, because its a time sensitive thing that you have to eat. Passion 8 only opens up for Takeout at this moment, but since we had good experience for eating in the store, we decided to give it a try. We are definitely satisfied with the shaved ice. Its as good as we remember, or maybe even better as I remember. The milky shaved ice is delightful with perfect amount of sweetness. We had order Matcha shaved ice, and the matcha powder has very nice taste balance with the topping. From the top you get sweet red beans and mix of small mochi and cheesecake chunks. A little bit of almond flakes make the texture more interesting, which is a bonus point. The shaved ice packed well and we enjoyed it a lot. read more

We ordered injulmi bingsoo small size($13) and mango bingsoo large size($18). Total we paid around $32! Since we paid so much I was expecting more injulmi but there were only 8 pieces on top and 1tbsp of red bean. So I was expecting more red bean and injulmi inside but there was only thin layer of injulmi powder at the bottom and that's it!!! Omg what a rip off!!! We'll never go back there again. Very disappointed Also, maybe mango is not in season? (right now it's January), mango it self was a bit sour and they put sweet syrup on top. Disappointed again read more
I'm not a big fan of coffee, but the blue Maldives drink is DELICIOUS!!! I was next door at Muse Salon to get my hair cut and my friend recommended I check out this place while I'm in town ... best decision ever! Granted that it was raining, the drink has a best sticker next to it, so I thought hey, why not. I got it with soy milk. It's really delicious and I recommend you try it! Some of the other customers bought bingsoo and toast and those looked and smelled delicious as well. I'm from Hawaii, so our cafe's don't have bathrooms and coffee, for some reason, is always burnt and gross. It's places like these that restores my faith in good baristas and good coffee.
