Uncle T's absolutely knocked it out of the park. Every single dish we tried was a hit, and the menu strikes that perfect balance between comfort food and bold, creative flavors. The boudin egg rolls were unreal--crispy on the outside, packed with flavor on the inside, and clearly made with care. The Landry po'boy was stacked and satisfying, with fresh ingredients and a perfect bite every time. The alligator bites were tender, well-seasoned, and fried just right--not greasy at all. The fish plate was cooked to perfection, flaky and flavorful, with sides that actually felt thought-out instead of an afterthought. But the real standout? The firecracker oysters. Unique, bold, and addictive--sweet heat with just the right kick. That's the kind of dish you come back for and tell people about. To top it off, T's Tea with the rice vodka was both strong and refreshing--the kind of drink that sneaks up on you in the best way and pairs perfectly with the food. Great food, great drinks, and a menu that shows real personality. Uncle T's is the kind of place you recommend without hesitation and can't wait to revisit.
Wow, Uncle T"s rocks! In town for dinner with a couple friends Uncle T's was a suggestion by one of my buds. Sports bar/pub inside with outside patio eating it's a casual environment for families and friends to meet Nice beer selection including plenty on draft I decided on a frosty tap Sheinerbock. For appetizers we had the boudin egg rolls and Catfish pieces. The boudin egg rolls came with a delicious pepper jelly. Egg rolls were crispy and hot , filled with lots of deliciousness its a big portion, plenty for 3 to share! My favorite, the Catfish pieces. Fried in crispy cornmeal they came out HOT but still tender and juicy - they were awesome! Our sweet server decided she didn't like our portion size and came back with a second basket to add to our current - NO ISSUES from me , it's about the FULL PORTION For mains, my buddy had the char grilled oysters and guarded them like a jail prisoner guarding his daily food ration I had a grilled fish PO BOY and I gotta say this was the best PO BOY I've ever had. PLENTY of fish , so much that it fell off the bread everytime I bit into the bread ( the bread was excellent too)My side was the coleslaw, big scoop with excellent crunch! Uncle T"s , can't wait to visit y"all again!
Stayed in town on our way to New Orleans and stopped by Uncle T's for dinner. It was packed so that was a good sign. We waited about 45 mins for our table around 6:30. We had drinks outside while we waited. Once seated our sweet server Amy promptly took our order and dined on boudin balls, fish bites, and boiled shrimp. The portions are huge. You can easily split meals. Everything was delicious!
We had the variety oyster plate.. nice size oysters, great and original concoctions bursting with flavor. The onion rings were perfectly cooked and a perfect complement to the main course. We were completely satisfied and were a bit surprised when asked if we were ready to order. We couldn't have ate another bite. Drinks were equally delicious. If you enjoy oysters this is a must have meal. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Bon Apatite.
The food was so good! I forgot to ask our server for her name, but she was so good to us! The ambiance was amazing! It looked beautiful! But, it wasn't fancy! So if you want to go and enjoy yourself, (in Louisiana) go there!
We always come here when we visit Lafayette. Yes, there are other restaurants in Lafayette but something about this place and the ambiance is welcoming and always good. Spicy Bloody Mary was om point and garnishes were a welcomes appetizer. The Onion rings and poboy burger were worth the money and enough to bring home. Raw oysters were fresh and went down easy, lol. The chargrilled was what we waited for for 4 years to come back to!!! 9 out of the 1w were perfect but the other 4 were burnt and wayyyy overcooked. They should have not been sent to the table. After telling the waitress, she didn't offer to replace them or get us new ones so 3 were left on the plate. Hard as a rock and the shell was black as coal. This was a little disappointing but won't stop us from coming back. Next time we will just insist we get 12 cooked correctly.
I finally decided to try Uncle T's Oyster Bar after hearing so much about it. I've been to nearly every local restaurant in Lafayette and the surrounding areas, but this one had somehow slipped through the cracks--until yesterday, when I was craving some good oysters. When we arrived, there was a 35-minute wait for a table inside. While we waited, we opted for the heated patio, which wasn't too bad and made the wait more tolerable. Once inside, we were seated in Ashley's section near the kitchen. Ashley was a fantastic server--friendly and attentive. She even went out of her way to accommodate my mother-in-law's request for fish fried extra hard, and her effort really stood out! We started with the oyster sampler. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing part of the meal. The oysters were completely overcooked--so blackened that we couldn't enjoy the different toppings. It was clear the sampler had potential, but the execution missed the mark. For my entrée, I decided to step out of the box and ordered the chopped cheese with waffle fries, and it was absolutely delicious. I loved the creative twist of serving it on French bread--it's definitely something I'd come back for. We also tried a bowl of gumbo, which was pretty good overall, though the potato salad on the side could use a bit more seasoning. The rest of my party ordered fried seafood, which was solid--no complaints there. Everything was cooked well and tasted as expected. Overall, the oyster sampler was a letdown, but the rest of the meal, combined with Ashley's excellent service, helped redeem the experience. I'd be willing to give Uncle T's another try, but I hope they improve their oysters, as that's what I came for in the first place.
We checked into our hotel in Scott and told the lovely lady at the front desk that we wanted a shrimp boil. She took the sheet full of recommended places, circled Uncle T's and said we needed to go there. And so we did. We took a Lyft and got there early (maybe around 5-530) and got seated on the patio. The weather was wonderful. Service was fantastic. She answered all of our questions, and we got the best food and drink. I appreciated the time she took to explain the best way to eat crawfish. My daughter was in heaven. I was happy with my po'boy. We got a Lyft back with happy tummies. Inside had a lot of different dining areas. It had a lot of light wood so the place felt very open. There was a second patio area off to the side that had a high top type bar area for people to sit at as well. The best thing was that if you went in and all the way to the back on the left, there was an excellent hand (and face) washing station. Two big thumbs up.

Yelp didn't disappoint again! I wanted a shrimp po' boy as I drove thru Louisiana and yelp's ratings search for a zoo' Boy near Lafayette. Uncle T's is one of the best Shrimp Po Boys I have ever had. I added the Landry Sauce and Wow! What a great sandwich. I added homemade onion rings that were spectacular and too many to finish. This is a Must Stop if driving thru! read more

My favorite place to eat when I visit Scott! You really can't go wrong with their menu but my favorites are the Le Bon Charbroiled Oysters, the Taco Tri-eaux and the Muffaletta Cheese Bread! They also make a damn good margarita! The bartenders are friendly and always remember me even tho I only visit a couple times a year! The venue is clean, welcoming and family friendly. read more

Came here for lunch on a weekday while visiting the area, plenty of parking in the parking lot. The place was packed and busy. Ordered the holly beach slammer (chargrilled oyster sampler) for appetizer and po' boys. Of all the oysters, my favorite ones are the firecracker and Le Bon Cochon (4/5). Personally, the Classic Candy was slightly too sweet (3/5). The po boys were solid (4/5 compared to Olde Tyme Grocery) and portions were huge, the half size po boy was enough for one person. Also tried fried alligator for the first time, was seasoned well and surprisingly pretty good! Our server was friendly and quick on the refills, but given how busy the restaurant was, took a while for the food to come out, must be a popular local spot. read more
My favorite place to dine in Scott. I absolutely love it here. I have dined here several times and never disappointed. The service is always top notch. Friendly and so welcoming. The atmosphere is very comforting and relaxing. A great place to dine. I am always recommending Uncle T's to everyone lol. Charbroiled Oysters are the best. I tend to always get the Holly Beach Slammer because I can't decided which one I want. So why not get a little bit of each. The Muffalatta Cheese Bread is addictive. If you love a good Muffalatta sandwich, you definitely do not want to miss out on this appetizer. My daughter decided on the Tacos Tri-eaux. She got all grilled shrimp this time and was in heaven. You definitely do not want to pass up on this place. So delicious and the staff is top notch! read more
Awesome food. Great vibe / atmosphere. Mediocre (at best) service. Came in midday, weekday, post-lunch rush--more empty tables than full. The hostess spent a long time directly in view of us, visiting with the bartender, rather than paying attention us standing waiting at the hostess station. Once we were seated, it took a long time for a waitress to show up. Oh wait, the hostess was again back in the wait station, visiting with the waitstaff the whole time. The waitress brought my food out quickly but might have forgotten about my friend's. When she did remember to bring his food, she had not remembered we did not have any silverware at the table. My half-shell oysters were amazing, though. My friend said his grilled chicken salad was okay. I bet this place could be rocking on the weekend, especially with that patio seating. Management just needs to get the staff's priorities straightened out. read more

Uncle T's never disappoints. This is by far the best oyster bar I tried. The food is always great. I ordered the charbroiled oysters and the acadian Poboy which all was delicious!!! Oh.... I can't forget to mention their lemon drop shots that I forgot to photo, the best ever. This is my to go spot when I'm back home. Uncle T's has good drinks and phenomenal food!!! read more

Charbroiled oysters were amazing. Served hot and fresh. Had the zydeco shrimp with a side of onion rings. Both were great! Got the Bread pudding for dessert. Not my favorite bread pudding but it was still good! The bar had a great atmosphere and all the guest were super friendly. Bartender was nice and provided quick, friendly, service. Ok! 1st, these days you go to a bar and expect pretty much nothing but high prices & mediocre food. Well.....well.....well NOT HERE!! We're driving through (long road trip) and decided to stay in Lafayette. Looked on Yelp and found this place. Stopped in not expecting much. Ordered 2 different Po'Boys (shrimp & beef). Both exceptional! I also ordered the side veggies. Omg, I think they gave me 3lbs of fresh veggies cooked beautifully, & seasoned perfectly!! Oh and btw, we had drinks too. My husband had a bud light and Jameson on the side. I had a Prosecco (which was a split,fresh) $5. What! Gonna stop here again just to go to this bar. Drinks, food & service is exactly what we should get EVERYWHERE we go but never do. Hope you stop in. Enjoy! read more

The food was ok. The charbroiled oysters were kind of raw but it was close to closing. The server was wonderful, and the ambiance is of a hunting type of cabin. Heading back to NOLA and we decided we couldn't make it the last two hours of the drive without sustenance so we popped into Uncle T's for a couple dozen raw and two cups of gumbo. Y'all, this is the real deal. Their chicken and andouille gumbo was fantastic. My husband and I were both tipping our bowls to get every last bit. What we couldn't get with our spoons, we sopped up with our French bread. The oysters were cold and salty and I wanted another dozen but knew better. Loved it. #ThankyouThursday read more

I can't recommend this restaurant enough! The food was amazing... I'm not from Lafayette and THIS is the best Cajun food/ food in general down here I've ever had! stopped by for lunch today and was not disappointed! we found the location on yelp and once again my yelp peers did not lead me astray! we started with the chargrilled oysters. they had just the right amount of seasoning giving them a slightly spicy kick. we shared the seafood basket, half fish and half shrimp with onion rings. although we ordered the fried, each item was fresh and individually flavorful. we sat on the porch out front and enjoyed this small town LA. feel. service was attentive and cooperative so we really never had to wait. give them a try, you won't be sorry! read more

We will stop again! Out of towners looking for crawfish but we were too early so we settled for shrimp. We found Uncle T's to hit the spot! The restaurant was spacious and had a good amount of guests for Thursday 230pm. Service was kind and speedy. My husband and I split the following: Nola oysters, large shrimp poboy, and house salad with grilled shrimp. It was all good! Delicious! Cooked to perfection. Shrimp was plump and juicy - grilled and fried. The waffle fries were perfect- my kid compared them to the common ones found at CFA, but we think they were WAY better because of the slight cajun seasonings! The kids both had kid shrimp basket - I counted 8 or 9 large shrimps, my kids couldn't finish them all. We were stuffed so sadly we had to let them go. I wish we could have had dessert but I'll save that for next time. read more

It's a must for me to go to Uncle T's when I'm in town, I started off with an old fashioned and the grilled oysters. The old fashion here is one of the best and they are not stingy with the alcohol you definitely have that feel good vibe when drinking the old fashioned. The oysters are very flavorful and well cleaned you don't taste much of the grit like some places. I also ordered the seafood platter grilled it was so seasoned and flavorful you get a lot I always eat on mines for at least two days I also ordered the bread pudding which is not pictured that was good also. My only complaint would be the music I wish they would cater to all nationalities when playing music because they have all nationalities spending money at this establishment I just don't think it's fair to only have one type of music playing. read more

Cross country Rv trip and wanted authentic Lafayette dinner. This was it! But Friday night had a 1h wait at 6pm. We forgot what day it was haha. But sitting outside shortened the wait - they had fans and swamp coolers do bearable. Server super helpful to recommend options to get lots of variety without over ordering. Oysters, side fish app, boudin ball app, combo dinner, etc. Awesome experience. Highly recommend. read more

I've been wanting to try Uncle T's for a year and I finally did. My meal did not live up to the hype. The raw oysters tasted like smelly fish. Now, I am a LOVER of raw oysters, and these are probably the worst I've had. I was super disappointed since this is an Oyster Bar! I would never get oysters from here again. I also got the Landry PoBoy (ordered a half but they gave and charged me for a whole), which was pretty good. I had to eat it with a knife and fork because it was so loaded, and that is definitely not an issue. A third of this sandwich filled me up! Unfortunately, I had a big chunk of shell in the PoBoy and it sliced my gum open. It is going to be quite some time before I go back here (if ever). An Oyster Bar should have reliably good oysters. Maybe I just had a bad experience but I am very disappointed. read more

My wife and I had a hankering for oysters so we decided to give Uncle T's a try. We had a 5 star experience. This little establishment is really neat. Great "seafood joint" type vibe, situated in the quaint village of Scott, LA-- just north of the railroad tracks. Within view from the dining room is a coffee shop and a "50's style" drug store. They offer outdoor seating. The food was excellent. Raw oysters salty, large, and fresh (ice cold). We opted for the combo style chargrilled oysters and they were fantastic. My wife ordered a grilled shrimp salad which was generously portioned with fresh ingredients. It is obvious not only do they pride themselves on the environment but also the food. We had such a good experience. I highly recommend. read more

Best Crawfish I ever had!! Best Boudain balls I ever had! Nice atmosphere. $10 beers :/ but some of the best Cajun food this Texan has ever had. Definitely going back next week before we head home. read more
